Try the other way of joining to narrow down where the failure occurs. Panic Stations has documented both random lobbies and invitations by lobby code, including inviting friends into a session that began as a random lobby. Treat each method as a separate test and write down which one fails.
If random matchmaking does not find a session
- Confirm that the game is updated, then retry the queue once after restarting it.
- If you have a friend available, try joining through the game’s lobby-code invitation path. If that works, the issue is specific to the random-match attempt rather than a complete inability to play online.
- Try at a different time and note the exact result—an endless search, an explicit error, or a disconnect after joining. Do not convert the result into a claim about the current player population.
- If invitations also fail, continue with the local connection steps and note whether your friend can join other Frog Sqwad sessions.
If a lobby-code invitation fails
- Have both players confirm they are on updated builds.

Does crossplay change the troubleshooting steps?
Panic Stations announced crossplay for the October 2026 console launch on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2. That establishes advertised crossplay availability, not a guarantee that every account pairing will connect at every moment. Use the same version and invitation tests regardless of platform.

Should I open router ports to fix a Frog Sqwad connection error?
