The Logitech K600 TV keyboard is the strongest named choice for a Sony BRAVIA UHD television running Android TV from 2016 onward: Logitech lists those TVs as compatible and the K600 combines a keyboard, touchpad and directional pad. If broad compatibility matters more than sofa-friendly navigation, start with a basic USB keyboard instead. Sony says Google TV and Android TV models generally recognize most USB keyboards, but warns that some keys or functions may not work as expected.

Neither choice is guaranteed to work with every BRAVIA, operating system or app. Check your TV’s platform and available USB ports before buying, and treat Bluetooth support as model-dependent rather than assured.

Which keyboard works best with a Sony BRAVIA TV?

Choose based on how you will use it and which software platform your television runs. For entering text with the fewest compatibility assumptions, a USB keyboard is the safer starting point. For controlling a compatible TV from the sofa, the Logitech K600 adds pointing and directional controls, but its documented BRAVIA compatibility is specific: Sony BRAVIA UHD models running Android TV from 2016 onward.

Logitech K600 TV keyboard Typing and sofa navigation on supported models USB Unifying receiver or Bluetooth Logitech’s datasheet lists Sony BRAVIA UHD (Android TV – 2016+) compatibility; it specifies a touchpad, directional pad, 15 m wireless range and 12-month battery life. The listing does not establish compatibility with every BRAVIA model or platform, and Sony does not confirm universal Bluetooth support.

Sony’s guidance is limited to BRAVIA televisions running Google TV or Android TV. It should not be read as confirmation that a keyboard will work with every Sony Smart TV platform.

Will a wireless keyboard work with my Sony BRAVIA?

It may, but “wireless” can mean a keyboard with a USB receiver or one that connects directly over Bluetooth, and those connection methods are not equally assured by Sony’s guidance. A USB-receiver model uses the TV’s USB port; direct Bluetooth operation depends on whether the particular BRAVIA supports and accepts that device.

Wireless keyboard with a USB receiver

Sony’s US support guidance says wireless keyboards use a transmitter connected to a TV USB port. This gives a receiver-based keyboard a USB connection to the television even though the keyboard itself has no cable. You still need an available compatible USB port, and the presence of a receiver does not guarantee that every key or function will work in every app.

Bluetooth keyboard

Sony’s guidance says that it does not have Bluetooth keyboards and mice officially tested and confirmed as operational. That is not the same as saying Bluetooth never works; it means Sony does not provide a universal confirmed list. The K600 offers Bluetooth as one connection option, but Logitech’s listing of the keyboard does not remove the need to check your TV model’s Bluetooth support.

Sony summarizes its platform guidance this way: “You can only connect USB or Bluetooth® keyboard and mouse to an Google TV™ or Android TV™ device.” Read alongside the qualification about unconfirmed Bluetooth devices, this means platform eligibility is not a guarantee for every wireless keyboard.

How do I choose between USB, a receiver and Bluetooth?

Start with the TV, not the keyboard’s feature list. The safest option supported by Sony’s general guidance is USB; choose a receiver or Bluetooth setup only after checking the television’s ports and model-specific support.

  1. Identify the TV platform. Confirm that the BRAVIA runs Google TV or Android TV. Sony’s keyboard guidance is for those platforms, not all Sony Smart TVs.
  2. Check the model and year. If considering the K600, compare your television with Logitech’s stated compatibility: Sony BRAVIA UHD with Android TV from 2016 onward. Do not extend that listing to other platforms or models.
  3. Check the connection your keyboard requires. A wired keyboard needs an available USB port. A receiver-based wireless keyboard needs a USB port for its transmitter. A Bluetooth keyboard requires the TV to support and pair with that device.
  4. Match the controls to the task. For occasional text entry, a basic USB keyboard may be sufficient. If you want a touchpad and directional controls alongside typing, the K600 has both.
  5. Consider where you will use it. Logitech states a 15 m wireless range and 12-month battery life for the K600. These are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of the same range or battery life in every room or usage pattern.

What does the Logitech K600 offer for BRAVIA owners?

The K600 is a wireless keyboard designed for TV use, rather than a plain keyboard alone. Logitech’s datasheet lists it for Sony BRAVIA UHD Android TV models from 2016 onward and describes both a touchpad and directional pad, giving you two built-in ways to navigate without a separate mouse.

Why might a keyboard work for typing but not for navigation?

Keyboard recognition and full control are different things. Sony says Google TV and Android TV generally recognize the majority of USB keyboards, while also warning that some functions may not operate as originally intended. That leaves room for text entry to work even when a particular navigation key, shortcut or other function does not behave as expected.

App behavior is another reason not to assume every key will do the same job everywhere. Sony’s general compatibility statement is not a promise about how each app handles keyboard input. A keyboard with a touchpad or directional pad gives you additional controls, but it does not establish that every app will accept every input method.

Where can I check compatibility before buying?

Use the television’s exact model designation and operating system as your starting point. Sony’s support article sets out the broad Google TV and Android TV guidance; Logitech’s datasheet provides the narrower K600 compatibility claim.

Prices, stock and regional availability are not established by these compatibility sources. Check current retailer listings separately, and do not treat a product listing or wireless feature label as proof that your exact BRAVIA will support it.

Is a Bluetooth keyboard more reliable than one with a USB receiver on BRAVIA?

Sony’s support guidance does not name Bluetooth keyboards it has officially tested and confirmed, while it says wireless keyboards use a transmitter plugged into a TV USB port. That makes the USB receiver route the more directly supported wireless setup in this guidance, provided the TV has a free port.

Can I use the keyboard in every TV app?

The cited guidance does not provide an app-by-app compatibility list. If one app is the main reason for buying a keyboard, confirm that its input fields and the controls you need accept keyboard input on your TV.
