- Identify your console. “Original Nintendo Switch,” “Nintendo Switch – OLED Model” and “Nintendo Switch Lite” are distinct entries in HORI’s chart. A listing for one is not automatic evidence for the others.
- Locate the SKU. Look for the model code on the product page or packaging—for example, NSX-126U or NSX-005U. Names such as “HORIPAD Turbo” alone are not enough to distinguish wireless and wired versions.

Do the HORI controllers work differently from Nintendo’s Switch 2 controllers?

For the standalone HORIPAD Turbo options, compare the exact SKU and the way you intend to play. HORI’s wireless NSX-126U listing explicitly names Switch 2, original Switch, OLED and Lite. HORI’s wired NSX-005U listing names Switch and OLED, while its manual adds the TV-mode-only restriction. Do not extend either listing to a different HORI controller simply because the name is similar.
Which HORI cases and racing accessories fit older consoles?
Some cases and racing products span generations, while others are Switch 2-specific or have a narrower list of supported older consoles. Case compatibility also depends on what the case is meant to hold. A protective console pouch has to fit the console itself, so a chart entry for Switch or OLED cannot be casually extended to Lite. A card case holds game cards rather than the console; its ability to store cards from two generations says nothing about whether either console can run every stored game.
Can a Switch 2 accessory hold or protect original Switch games and hardware?
Only where the product information establishes that specific use. HORI lists NSX-188U, the Pokémon Pixel Red 24-Game Card Case, as accepting both original-Switch and Switch 2 game cards. That is a storage claim, not a software-compatibility claim. Nintendo says a Switch 2-exclusive game will not run on the original Switch, even if its card fits in a case that also stores original-Switch cards.

Charging claims need the same care. Nintendo says its Switch 2 AC adapter can also be used with the original Switch. That is a narrow statement about Nintendo’s adapter; it is not evidence that an unspecified HORI stand, dock or charger fits or safely charges every model.

Not necessarily. This article concerns whether selected Switch 2-branded HORI products work with an older console. Nintendo also says some original-Switch accessories work with Switch 2, but that is the reverse direction and does not establish the compatibility of any particular HORI Switch 2 product with original Switch.
Likewise, do not generalize from one successful category to another. What should I do if the exact product is missing from the compatibility list?
Treat it as unconfirmed and look up the complete model code in the manufacturer’s product listing, fit chart or manual before buying or attaching it. If the product is a regional or color variant, make sure the SKU—not just the product-family name—matches the listed version. HORI’s chart identifies the Reversible Travel Pouch NSX-026E as an EU-only edition, illustrating why the suffix can matter.
Do not use a nearby product as a substitute for evidence: a Lite-compatible pouch does not prove the same family’s controller supports Lite, and a cross-generation wheel attachment does not prove that another wheel works with the same Joy-Con.
