The Last First: Winter K2 premiered globally on Apple TV on October 2, 2026, according to Apple’s announcement. The announced date has passed; check the Apple TV app in your region for the current listing and availability.
What is The Last First: Winter K2 about?
Apple describes the documentary as a look at a 2021 attempt to become the first to summit K2 in winter. The central climbers are Icelander John Snorri Sigurjónsson and Pakistani father-and-son climbers Ali and Sajid Sadpara.
Apple’s synopsis places their expedition alongside influencer climbers and camera crews, commercial expedition clients, and a Nepalese team. It frames the story around climbing strategy and determination, as well as class, caste, money, power, and changes in extreme-climbing culture. These are the film’s stated subjects and framing, not an independent verification of every event it depicts. Apple’s announcement has the official synopsis.
