If your Samsung TV rejects 0000, first confirm that the prompt is for the TV itself—not an app or connected set-top box. If it is the TV’s PIN, use the reset sequence that matches your remote and your model’s regional Samsung support instructions. Samsung’s U.S. guidance for 2025 TVs, projectors, and smart monitors says its sequence restores the PIN to 0000; button sequences are not universal across remotes, models, and regions.
1. Confirm which device is asking for a PIN
Check the wording and context of the prompt. A PIN requested while changing TV settings may be the Samsung TV PIN. A prompt inside a particular app or on a connected set-top box may belong to that app or device instead. Samsung Colombia advises checking the app or external device’s controls when a TV PIN reset does not remove the restriction: Samsung Colombia’s PIN guide applies to products purchased in Colombia.
2. Try 0000 only if the PIN was never changed
0000 is a default, not a recovery code that overrides a PIN someone previously customized. If the owner never chose a different PIN, try 0000 once. Samsung says a PIN is set during initial setup on the 2025 U.S. TV, projector, and smart monitor models covered by its instructions, and the PIN can be changed later: Samsung U.S.: Change the PIN on your Samsung TV. Samsung Colombia also identifies 0000 as the default for the products covered by its regional guide.
3. Reset the TV PIN with the correct remote sequence
Keep the TV on and follow the instructions for your remote type and TV model. Do not combine button sequences from different regional support pages: remote layouts and model guidance vary.

For the 2025 models covered by Samsung U.S.
Samsung’s U.S. instructions for 2025 TVs, projectors, and smart monitors give this sequence while the device is on:
- Press Volume.
- Press Volume Up.
- Press Return.
- Press Volume Down.
- Press Return.
- Press Volume Up.
- Press Return.
Samsung says this resets the PIN to 0000. Check the full U.S. instructions to confirm that your product is within their stated scope.

For other models and remote types
Samsung UK and Samsung Australia publish different instructions for Smart Remotes and standard remotes. Use the page that matches your TV’s market and remote, rather than assuming the U.S. sequence applies. Samsung UK also notes that menus and screenshots can vary by model and software version: Samsung UK: How to reset your TV PIN code. Samsung Australia says earlier models may place PIN settings under System Manager: Samsung Australia: Change your Samsung TV PIN Code.
If you are unsure which instructions fit, find your TV’s model code and open the Samsung support page or manual for your country and model. Do not keep trying guessed sequences; the sources establish model- and remote-specific guidance, not one sequence for every Samsung TV.

4. Check the remote if the number keyboard does not appear
If the on-screen number keyboard is missing or the TV does not respond to the buttons, the issue may be remote pairing rather than the PIN. Samsung UK recommends holding Return and Play/Pause together until a connection message appears, then checking whether the remote works. Its support guidance also suggests checking for available software updates: Samsung UK PIN troubleshooting and Samsung Latin America PIN guidance.

If the correct reset sequence does not work, verify the model code and make sure the prompt is genuinely from the TV. For an app or external device PIN, contact that app’s provider or device maker. For TV-specific help, Samsung UK describes Remote Management through the TV’s Support area; the TV must be online, and the remote reset erases data. A factory reset is not the same as resetting only the PIN. Samsung UK says it deletes Samsung accounts and downloaded apps and restores the TV’s initial settings. Treat it as a broader troubleshooting step, not the first response to a forgotten PIN. Before using it, make sure you understand the consequences and have the network details you will need to set the TV up again.
