There is no single document checklist for every student scooter scheme. The exact requirements depend on the scheme, location and year—and on whether it gives scooters directly, subsidizes a purchase or arranges financing. Common requests include identity proof, evidence that you are currently enrolled, a photograph and an application form. Some programs also ask for residence documents, a driving licence or learner’s permit, or financial and guarantor paperwork. Check the current official notice or application portal before gathering or submitting documents.

Start with the current scheme notice

First confirm the scheme’s name, location, application year and support type. A subsidy, direct-distribution program and financed purchase can have different paperwork. Requirements can also differ between jurisdictions, so a document accepted in one place should not be assumed to satisfy another scheme.

For example, the Government of Assam’s 2026 guideline describes an online application and says offline applications will not be entertained. It does not, in the retrieved guideline text, set out a complete upload checklist. Gujarat’s listing describes offline submission, but it is a secondary listing and its operational details should be checked against GEDA’s current form. These examples show why the current instructions—not a general checklist—should determine how and where you apply.

Documents that may be requested

Identity proof

Use the identity document specified by the scheme. Gujarat’s listing asks for a self-certified Aadhaar copy; Balochistan’s scheme page lists copies of both sides of the CNIC. These are local examples, not interchangeable requirements.

Proof of current student status

Be ready to show that you are enrolled for the relevant academic period. Gujarat lists a bonafide certificate that includes study-year details. Balochistan lists a university or college enrollment letter along with a current semester fee challan or student ID. The scheme’s current notice determines which evidence it accepts.

Photograph and application form

A photograph or completed form may be required. Gujarat’s listing specifies a completed form in duplicate; its FAQ also mentions a passport-size photograph, although the listing’s required-document section does not. Follow the latest official form and notice rather than assuming every item on a secondary listing is mandatory.

Residence or domicile evidence

Some schemes restrict eligibility by residence. Balochistan lists a provincial domicile certificate. Other programs may use a different proof of residence or may not request a domicile document at all.

Driving licence or learner’s permit

Licence requirements also vary. Balochistan’s page lists a permanent motorcycle licence. Punjab scheme information says applicants need a driving licence or learner’s permit issued by a licensing authority. Check the exact rule for your scheme; do not treat either example as a universal requirement.

Punjab’s FAQ says a bank may request further documents about a guarantor or co-borrower during post-balloting scrutiny. Such requests are financing-specific, not standard paperwork for every scooter scheme.

Examples of how the requirements differ

Scheme example Document or process details stated What that means for applicants
Gujarat listing Self-certified Aadhaar copy, bonafide certificate with study-year details, and completed form in duplicate; FAQ also mentions a passport-size photograph. The listing describes offline submission. Confirm the current form and process with GEDA because the document list is from a secondary listing and the photograph appears in its FAQ rather than its required-document section.
Assam, 2026 guideline Online application; offline applications will not be entertained. The retrieved guideline text does not provide a full upload checklist. Use the official online instructions for the application year and confirm which files the portal requires.
Balochistan student category Both sides of CNIC, enrollment letter, current semester fee challan or student ID, provincial domicile certificate and permanent motorcycle licence; financing documents include co-borrower income proof, five signed undated cheques and guarantor records. This is a detailed local example that includes both eligibility and financing paperwork; it is not a checklist for schemes elsewhere.
Punjab scheme information Driving licence or learner’s permit; a bank may request more guarantor or co-borrower documents during post-balloting scrutiny. The information describes Phase I and should not be taken as evidence that applications are currently open.

Before you submit anything

  1. Open the current official notice or application portal. Confirm the application year, eligibility rules, deadline and whether the scheme is a subsidy, direct distribution or financed purchase.
  2. Make a scheme-specific checklist. Note the exact identity and student-status evidence, residence documents, licence rules and any finance-related requirements.
  3. Check format and certification instructions. Confirm whether the scheme wants scans or paper copies, self-certification, a photograph, duplicate forms, or original documents for verification.
  4. Use the stated submission route. Apply through the official portal or submit to the named office as instructed. Do not send sensitive documents to an unofficial intermediary.
  5. Verify purchase conditions before buying. Gujarat’s listing says students should purchase through GEDA-authorized manufacturers and registered dealers. A marketplace purchase should not be assumed to qualify under a scheme with an authorized-dealer condition.
