WAGO’s Automation Community is a public forum where users share code, automation flows, setup guidance and troubleshooting advice for WAGO hardware and related technologies. It is useful for discovering practical examples, but it is not WAGO’s official support channel, and community posts should not be treated as reviewed or endorsed software.
What “WAGO tools” means in the online community
Here, “tools” mostly means resources shared or discussed by community members: Node-RED flows and nodes, Python projects and snippets, CODESYS code, Linux and hardware practices, and advice about integrating these technologies with WAGO controllers. The community describes itself as a place for automation users to collaborate, learn and solve challenges. Browse the WAGO Automation Community to see its current categories and discussions.
These are community resources, not a single downloadable toolkit. The forum’s categories and topic listings show what people discuss; they do not establish that every contribution is tested, maintained or officially supported by WAGO.
What you can find by topic
| Area | What it covers | Example forum topic |
|---|---|---|
| Node-RED | Flows, nodes and using Node-RED with WAGO controllers. | “How To: Using PFC200 Onboard Serial Port with Node-RED” (Node-RED topics) |
| Python | Projects, snippets, libraries and controller setup questions. | “How to install Python on a PCF200 controller” (Python topics). The forum title spells the model “PCF200”; check the actual hardware model before following instructions. |
| Hardware and Linux | Linux practices and hardware questions involving WAGO PFC and Edge controllers and Edge Computers. | “Accessing the CC100 RS-485 interfaces from Linux while CODESYS is using them” (Hardware and Linux topics) |
| CODESYS | Projects, code and controller programming questions. | “How to configure and program a 750-670 Stepper Controller” (CODESYS topics) |
| GitHub and partner technologies | Feedback on WAGO GitHub projects and discussion of software partner technologies. | The community landing page points code issues to the relevant GitHub repository’s issue tracker and links to WAGO’s partner list. |
Other titles illustrate the practical nature of the discussions, including “Can a run Node-Red on a PFC100 (750-8100).” Use the forum’s search and category pages to find topics that match your controller, software and task rather than assuming a similarly named example applies to your setup.

How large is the community?
On October 4, 2026, the community landing page displayed 44 Node-RED topics, 13 Python topics, 296 Hardware and Linux topics, 574 CODESYS topics and 23 Partner Technology topics. These are changeable page counts, not durable adoption figures or evidence of quality, activity, user satisfaction or productivity. Check the current landing page for its live listings.
Community discussions are not formal WAGO support
The forum is a user-to-user place for open-source technology and WAGO hardware discussions. WAGO employees may contribute, but that does not turn a post into an official support response. In the forum welcome announcement, author tyrone.visser wrote on April 25, 2022: “Although WAGO employees will be contributing to this forum, please note that this is not the official WAGO support channel.” The welcome notice directs readers who need more timely technical support to their regional WAGO support channel.

Where to get official WAGO software
For WAGO-provided downloads, start with the WAGO Software Downloads page or the WAGO Download Center. WAGO describes downloads that include engineering tools, firmware, documentation, libraries and CODESYS add-ons. Its Download Center overview explains that the platform presents versioned components, dependency information, tutorials, sample projects and documentation.
Available products, versions, license terms, regional access and device compatibility can change. Check the live official listing for the download you need rather than relying on a version or offer mentioned elsewhere. For example, the current WAGO Device Manager listing and WAGO Device Sphere listing are the places to verify their latest release and terms.

- Works for solid, stranded, and fine-stranded conductors
- Easy-to-set-up design for convenient use
- Perfect for installing long cable with larger conductor sections
Do you need a WAGO controller to use the community?
No. You can read and browse the forum without owning a PFC200 or another controller. A controller is only relevant when you want to reproduce an example that runs on particular hardware. Some discussions cover Python or Node-RED on WAGO controllers, but the required model depends on the project; confirm the model, firmware and software compatibility before buying or configuring equipment.
WAGO also describes mobile software use cases such as WebVisu for monitoring and controlling automation processes and an Energy Meter Configurator app. Check WAGO’s software overview for current availability, licensing and compatibility details.
