If you mean the Divinity: Original Sin 2 item, the helm is obtained in Act One as the Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm: offer Source to the Shrine of Braccus Rex in the Decrepit Ruins. Use its Purge ability three times to summon Krylr the Kettlegrinder; defeat him and the helm transforms into Tyrant’s Helm. The title alone does not establish that this is the intended game, so the steps below apply specifically to Divinity: Original Sin 2.
Does “Tyrant’s Helm” refer to a specific game?
The name is ambiguous. The available evidence does not establish a game or support the broad claims sometimes attached to the exact title, such as a general history, level progression, or upgrade system. A documented item with a similar name is the Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm in Divinity: Original Sin 2. The guide below covers that item and its transformation; it should not be read as a guide to an unidentified game or to a physical helmet.
In Divinity: Original Sin 2, the Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm is a unique Act One item associated with Braccus Rex. It begins as a cursed piece of the Tyrant set, but its Purge skill triggers a specific encounter that changes it into Tyrant’s Helm.

Go to the Shrine of Braccus Rex in the Decrepit Ruins and offer Source to the shrine. The shrine gives you the Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm. This is the documented acquisition route; the available references do not substantiate alternative drops or vendors.

- Reach the Decrepit Ruins in Act One.
- Find the Shrine of Braccus Rex.
- Offer Source to the shrine.
- Collect the Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm and check its skill before leaving: the important ability for the next part is Purge.
The Source requirement matters: merely finding the shrine is not the stated method of obtaining the item. If you are following a guide for another game, or a different item with a similar name, these instructions may not apply.
What are the helm’s stats and requirements?
The item reference lists the Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm at level 6, with a Strength requirement of 11. Its listed attributes are +13 physical armor, +2 magic armor, +1 Strength, and -1 Leadership. It provides Purge.
| Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm | Listed value |
|---|---|
| Item level | 6 |
| Strength requirement | 11 |
| Physical armor | +13 |
| Magic armor | +2 |
| Strength | +1 |
| Leadership | -1 |
| Skill | Purge |
Those values describe the corrupted version. The available item references do not provide a complete, version-by-version stat comparison after the transformation, so do not assume the transformed helm keeps every listed value unchanged.

How do I turn it into Tyrant’s Helm?
Use Purge from the Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm three times. That sequence summons Krylr the Kettlegrinder and starts a fight. Defeat Krylr; the corrupted item then transforms into Tyrant’s Helm.
- Equip or otherwise access the Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm’s Purge ability.
- Use Purge three times. The third use is part of the documented trigger sequence.
- Prepare to fight Krylr the Kettlegrinder, who is summoned by that sequence.
- Defeat Krylr to complete the transformation.
The transformation is tied to the fight, not simply to acquiring the corrupted helm or using Purge once. The transformed Tyrant’s Helm provides Shackles of Pain rather than the corrupted version’s Purge skill. The sources support that skill distinction, but not a complete list of all changed stats.
What is the difference between the corrupted and transformed helms?
The key difference is how each version is obtained and what skill it provides. The Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm comes from the shrine and has Purge; after the three-use summon sequence and Krylr fight, it becomes Tyrant’s Helm, which has Shackles of Pain.

| Detail | Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm | Tyrant’s Helm |
|---|---|---|
| How you get it | Offer Source to the Shrine of Braccus Rex in the Decrepit Ruins | Defeat Krylr after using Purge three times |
| Documented skill | Purge | Shackles of Pain |
| Documented stats | Level 6; Strength 11 requirement; +13 physical armor, +2 magic armor, +1 Strength, -1 Leadership | A complete stat comparison is not available in the cited item references |
This is a specific item progression, not evidence of a general upgrade system for helmets. If your goal is to use Purge, the corrupted version has that ability; if you want the transformed version’s documented skill, completing the encounter is the route.
How does the helm fit into the Tyrant set?
The Tyrant set has five pieces: Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm, Heart of the Tyrant, Hands of the Tyrant, Tyrant’s Stride, and Tracks of the Tyrant. The quest reference says the pieces’ separate cursed effects are removed when the full set is equipped together.
That effect is specifically tied to wearing all five pieces together. It should not be described as a general armor bonus or as a benefit from wearing the helm alone. If you are collecting the set to address its curses, the helm is only one part of the requirement.

What should I keep in mind?
- Confirm the game. The exact title does not identify a game; this walkthrough is specifically for Divinity: Original Sin 2.
- Distinguish the two item names. The shrine gives the Corrupted Tyrant’s Helm. Tyrant’s Helm is the transformed version.
- Expect an encounter. Using Purge three times summons Krylr and starts a fight; the transformation follows defeating him.
- Do not assume a full stat list for the transformed item. Only its Shackles of Pain skill is established in the cited item material.
- Do not expect the curse effect to disappear from one piece alone. The set reference describes removal when all five Tyrant pieces are equipped together.
No named population statistic, official statement, or authoritative game documentation was identified in the supplied evidence. The item attributes above are game stats, not population or performance statistics. Accordingly, this guide sticks to the documented item and quest mechanics rather than presenting unsupported claims about broader lore, power rankings, or progression.

Does wearing only the helm remove its curse?
The quest reference associates removal of the separate cursed effects with equipping the complete five-piece Tyrant set. It does not say that the helm alone removes those effects.
Is there a real-world Tyrant’s Helm with these stats?
The stats in this guide are attributes for an in-game item in Divinity: Original Sin 2. The supplied evidence does not establish a physical product or real-world item with these properties.
