You can turn a long blog list into Instagram carousels by treating each article’s H2 sections as a slide plan, then rendering that plan as AI-generated images, controlled HTML, or reusable React components. A practical workflow starts with a searchable archive and a human-reviewed draft; OpenRouter can support planning and image generation, while Nano Banana is one option for artwork. Keep slide text short, put the article link in the caption, and do not publish until someone has checked every slide.
What does the workflow do?
It converts existing blog posts into a queue of carousel drafts rather than asking an image model to invent an entire post from a URL. The blog archive remains the source of truth: each Markdown file is parsed into a record, selected in an admin table, transformed into a slide plan, and rendered into images for review.
The key editorial mapping is simple: one H2 section becomes roughly one teaching slide. That gives the process a repeatable structure while preserving the article’s sequence. A cover slide can introduce the topic and a final call-to-action slide can direct readers to the full post, but neither needs to replace the core section-by-section slides.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteThis is a content-production workflow, not evidence that carousels will increase reach or engagement. The described implementation does not auto-post to Instagram; publishing is a separate step that should be added only after draft creation and review work reliably.

How do I turn a Markdown blog list into a carousel queue?
First make the article archive queryable. Then expose each post as a row in an admin view so a person can choose which article to adapt and see what has already been generated.
1. Parse the archive into usable fields
Read each Markdown file and extract at least its title, slug, description, tags, body, and H2 headings. Preserve the source content and heading order; the carousel planner should transform an article, not silently rewrite the archive itself.
Keep the extracted H2 headings associated with their post record. They are the backbone of the slide plan, and retaining the source makes it easier to audit a generated claim against the original article.

Show enough information to help an editor select and manage posts without opening every file. Useful columns include the article title, category, estimated slide count, blog URL, and a Generated status. Search helps locate a post; the status helps distinguish a post that has never been processed from one with an existing draft.
- Category: use the existing tag or category data where available.
- Slide count: derive an initial count from the H2 sections, with any cover or CTA counted separately if the interface includes them.
- Blog URL: retain the destination for the caption, not for text baked into the artwork.
- Generated status: track whether a draft exists, without treating generation as approval to publish.
3. Select a post and create a bounded slide plan
For each selected row, produce a plan with a short hook, two or three short bullets, and one visual direction for each teaching slide. Keep the heading-to-slide mapping deterministic: if a post has six meaningful H2 sections, the expected result is about six teaching slides, not an unpredictable number chosen by the image model.
Use an optional cover for the overall promise of the post and an optional CTA for the next action. For batching, cap a carousel at roughly six to eight slides. This is an implementation guardrail, not a proven Instagram optimum: it limits the damage a malformed prompt or runaway generation could cause to time and image credits.

Keep the destination URL in the caption. Text inside artwork can be difficult to read or reproduce consistently, and a URL does not need to consume scarce slide space when the caption can carry it.

How should a blog section become a good slide?
A slide should communicate one useful point at a glance, not compress an entire H2 section into tiny type. Keep the heading’s meaning, select only the details needed to explain it, and give the renderer a visual direction that supports rather than competes with the text.
Write the plan before choosing the renderer
Separating planning from rendering makes the workflow easier to inspect. A slide plan can be reviewed for missing sections, unsupported additions, and excessive text before it becomes an image or a component. A compact internal record might include a slide number, source heading, hook, two or three bullets, and visual direction.
For example, a source section titled “Add an admin table” could become a slide with a hook such as “Make the archive easy to scan,” two concise bullets about searchable rows and generated status, and a visual direction showing a simplified table. That is an illustration of the format, not a claim that every article should use the same wording or art.
Validate the plan before rendering
Have the planning step return structured data and validate it before handing it to a renderer. Check that the expected fields exist, that every slide has a source heading or a clearly marked cover/CTA role, and that the output stays within the chosen slide cap. If a record fails validation, return it to editing instead of letting malformed data create a broken image or misleading slide.
Validation does not prove that the content is true. Editors still need to compare the proposed bullets with the source article, especially when a model has paraphrased a technical instruction, number, or qualification.

Should I render carousel slides as images, HTML, or React?
Choose based on what needs to stay stable. Nano Banana is the most image-led route; HTML offers the strongest direct control over typography and CSS; React makes a slide system easier to reuse across formats but adds a component-preview and rasterization step.
| Approach | Best fit | Control and determinism | Iteration cost | Reuse and trade-offs |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nano Banana images through OpenRouter | Slides where original, image-led artwork is central | The model creates the image, so the visual result is less deterministic than a fixed layout rendered in code. Preview the PNGs rather than assuming every text element is correct. | Uses image generation; keep batches bounded so an invalid prompt does not consume a large amount of generation budget. | Strongest image-led treatment, but precise typography and repeatable placement are harder to control than with HTML or React. |
| AI-planned HTML rendered to PNG | Drafts that need consistent typography, spacing, and branded layouts | AI can return structured layout data, while CSS controls the final visual system. A fixed set of layouts makes output more predictable. | Can avoid image-generation spend during early drafts; the slide still needs to be rendered and reviewed. | Good control over CSS and text. A set of layouts such as cover, explain, steps, code, and CTA can serve common slide roles. |
| React component slides | A slide kit intended for multiple channels or repeated use | Component and style constraints provide strong control, but a preview and rasterization path must work correctly. | Requires component preview or screenshot/export infrastructure. | Highest potential reuse across Instagram, Stories, and web embeds; more implementation work than a straightforward HTML renderer. |
These are architectural trade-offs, not comparative performance-test results. No audience-growth, engagement, or conversion statistic is established for any of the three approaches.
When should I use Nano Banana?
Use an image-generation route when the visual treatment is a meaningful part of the slide and you are prepared to inspect each generated PNG. OpenRouter’s image endpoint is https://openrouter.ai/api/v1/images; the described implementation sends a prompt and a 4:5 aspect ratio, with 1080 × 1350 pixels as its example canvas.

OpenRouter’s directory describes a changing set of Nano Banana model names, including Nano Banana 2 Lite (Gemini 3.1 Flash Lite Image), Nano Banana (Gemini 2.5 Flash Image), Nano Banana Pro (Gemini 3 Pro Image), Nano Banana 2.1, and Nano Banana 2. The directory describes Nano Banana 2 Lite as supporting text-to-image generation, editing, and multi-image composition at 1K across 14 aspect ratios, with generation in roughly four seconds and an invisible SynthID watermark. Those are volatile listing details, not guarantees for every model, request, or future date; check the current OpenRouter directory and selected model’s terms before relying on them.
OpenRouter’s model directory, citing Google, describes Gemini 2.5 Flash Image as generally available under the name “Nano Banana.” Availability and model capabilities can change, so make the model selection configurable rather than embedding one name throughout the application.
When should I use HTML slides?
HTML is a strong default when legible text and a consistent brand system matter more than a fully generated illustration. Ask the planning step for structured layout data—such as a layout type, heading, bullets, and visual parameters—then map those values to a finite set of known HTML layouts.

Render the layout as DOM nodes using fixed dimensions and brand CSS, then export it with a DOM-to-PNG method such as html-to-image or another suitable renderer. This lets the application control type size, spacing, colors, and alignment in code instead of asking an image model to draw every character. It also gives the team a route to produce preview images before spending on generated artwork.
When should I use React slides?
Use React when a slide system is intended to be reused beyond one Instagram export—for example, when the same design system may need versions for Stories or web embeds. Constrain generation to one component per H2, a fixed 1080 × 1350 frame, and no external images if consistent rendering is important.
Preview each component in an iframe or a React Live sandbox, then take a screenshot or rasterize it. React does not remove the need for an image-export path: Instagram needs image files, so the component must ultimately be rendered into a suitable raster format.
How do I build the pipeline in a safe order?
Get the reliable, reviewable parts working before adding image generation or publishing. The order below keeps a usable draft workflow available even if a later provider or automation step fails.
- Expose the Markdown archive. Make source files available from disk or an API, and parse the post metadata and H2 headings into records.
- Create the admin table. Add search, category, estimated slide count, blog URL, and Generated status so editors can find and track candidate posts.
- Add slide planning. Use OpenRouter chat to request validated structured slide data, preserving the mapping from article sections to slides.
- Build HTML preview and PNG export. Prove that the plan can be inspected and exported before adding image-generation spend.
- Add image generation where needed. For posts that benefit from artwork, send the slide prompt to the selected Nano Banana model through OpenRouter and save the resulting PNGs for review.
- Add a React route only if reuse justifies it. Keep it optional rather than making every draft depend on a more elaborate component-rendering path.
- Add approvals and publishing last. Once the draft and review loop is dependable, consider connecting a workflow tool, Slack approvals, and Instagram publishing.
How can I automate review and Instagram publishing?
Automation can move work between people and services, but it should not eliminate editorial approval. An n8n template describes a Slack-centered sequence: enter a topic in Slack, conduct AI research, draft the carousel, approve the draft, generate Nano Banana Pro images, review the images and caption, then publish to Instagram.
The template lists OpenAI and Slack credentials, a Nano Banana Pro provider account, and Facebook Graph API access for Instagram publishing. That is a separate automation option from the admin workflow described above, which does not auto-post. The template’s credential list is a starting point, not a promise that every Instagram account or environment will be eligible or configured identically.

A sensible workflow has distinct approval gates: approve the content plan before expensive image generation if appropriate, then review the final slide images and caption before publishing. If the image output changes the meaning, contains misspelled text, or omits an important qualification, regenerate or edit it rather than treating successful API output as approval.
What guardrails prevent costly or misleading output?
Protect credentials, constrain model output, and make human review part of the product rather than an afterthought.
- Keep API keys server-side. Do not place provider credentials in browser code or a downloadable client bundle.
- Validate JSON before rendering. Reject missing fields and unexpected slide structures rather than passing malformed output to HTML or React.
- Enforce a slide cap and fixed canvas. A bounded batch and a consistent frame make review and export manageable.
- Preview every image. A successful generation request does not establish that the text is accurate, legible, or visually acceptable.
- Keep URLs in captions. Do not depend on generated artwork to reproduce a destination link correctly.
- Separate generated from approved. A Generated status should describe draft creation, not imply editorial or publishing approval.
- Keep publishing distinct from rendering. The admin can create downloadable drafts without pretending that it has posted them to Instagram.
What should I implement first?
Start with archive parsing, a searchable selection table, a validated slide plan, and HTML preview/export. That creates a complete draft-and-review loop with predictable text and layout before image generation introduces provider variability or spend.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use an image model to make a carousel without checking every slide?
No. A generated file can still contain incorrect wording, weak legibility, or a visual that changes the source meaning. Treat image generation as draft production, not editorial approval.
Do I need a separate Instagram publishing integration to export carousel images?
No. The rendering workflow can produce PNG drafts for manual review and upload; automatic publishing is an additional integration with its own account access and setup requirements.
What happens if a blog post has no H2 headings?
The one-heading-to-one-slide mapping has no section structure to follow in that case. Have an editor create or approve a section outline before generating slides rather than asking the renderer to invent the post’s structure.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Can the same slide plan be used for a carousel and a web embed?
It can serve as shared content data, but each renderer may need a different layout and export size. React is the route described for reuse across channels, while the content plan itself should remain independent of the final format.
