Total War: WARHAMMER III is currently available at one of its lowest reported prices. A GameSpot deals report dated October 26, 2026 listed a Fanatical Steam key at $7.79 or £6.49, while GamesRadar’s October Steam Autumn Sale guide recorded £7.49 or $8.99 at an 85% discount. The Steam promotion ended October 15, so only the retailer’s checkout page can confirm what is still available on October 27. The most important change for newcomers is that any Lords of the End Times DLC pack also unlocks the Immortal Empires campaign; you no longer need to buy the first two trilogy games to enter that sandbox.
What is the cheapest way to get Total War: Warhammer 3 and Immortal Empires?
The lowest reported entry price is the $7.79/£6.49 Fanatical Steam key cited by GameSpot on October 26, 2026. That is a dated retailer report, not a guaranteed price: check your country, currency, platform and the final checkout total before paying.
If the key is unavailable, GamesRadar recorded the game at £7.49/$8.99 during Steam’s Autumn Sale. The official Total War announcement described that sale as running from October 1 through October 15, with discounts of up to 85%, so it should be treated as a completed promotion rather than an active offer.
Current deal snapshot
| Offer | Published price | What the evidence establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Fanatical Steam key | $7.79 / £6.49 | GameSpot report dated October 26, 2026; availability and expiry were not stated. |
| Steam Autumn Sale | £7.49 / $8.99 | GamesRadar listing at 85% off; the official sale window ended October 15, 2026. |
| Normal current checkout price | Not stated | Prices vary by region and can change without notice. |
These figures show why the game is being described as cheaper than ever in current deal coverage, but they do not prove that every region is seeing an all-time record price at this moment.

Can I play Immortal Empires without owning Warhammer 1, 2 or 3?
Yes. The publisher’s FAQ says that purchasing any Lords of the End Times DLC pack grants access to Immortal Empires, and that pack functions as your base game for this purpose. You do not need to own Total War: WARHAMMER I, II or III unless you want the extra campaigns and content tied to those games.
Immortal Empires is the trilogy’s combined sandbox map. Ownership controls which races and Legendary Lords you can select; factions you do not own still appear as AI opponents, so the world remains populated even when your collection is small.
What one Lords of the End Times character includes
- The selected Legendary Lord.
- That Lord’s associated units and gameplay features.
- A core roster for the character’s race.
- Associated free downloadable content.
- Access to Immortal Empires.
- The Total War: WARHAMMER III Prologue.
- Bretonnia as a playable race in Immortal Empires.
That makes a single Lord pack the least expensive purpose-built route into Immortal Empires. It does not give you every faction or the original Realms of Chaos campaign from the standalone game.

Which Total War: Warhammer 3 DLC is discounted?
The October 26 GameSpot/Fanatical report listed discounts across several major packs. Because the report came from a retailer-deals collaboration and did not provide a universal expiry time, treat every percentage as a snapshot and verify the live listing.
| DLC | Reported discount | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Forge of the Chaos Dwarfs | 64% off | Players who specifically want the Chaos Dwarf roster and campaign mechanics. |
| Ogre Kingdoms | 55% off | Players interested in an Ogre-focused faction and its Legendary Lords. |
| Champions of Chaos | 55% off | Players who want additional Chaos champions and their faction mechanics. |
| Omens of Destruction | 55% off | Players choosing its newly added Lords and associated units. |
| Thrones of Decay | 55% off | Players seeking its specific Lord, roster and campaign systems. |
| Lords of the End Times | 11% off | New players whose priority is Immortal Empires access through a Lord pack. |
The same report also listed Skulltaker at a recorded low of $4.49, or 50% off, on June 25, 2026 according to SteamDB. That is a historical lowest-price record, not a current quote.
Is the four-Lord Lords of the End Times bundle better value?
The complete bundle includes all four Lords and their associated content with a 15% bundle discount. It is the sensible choice if you already know you want every Lord, because the discount applies to buying the set rather than collecting the characters individually.

A single pack is better value for a cautious newcomer: it supplies the Immortal Empires gateway and lets you test whether that race’s mechanics suit you before committing to four purchases. Buying the full bundle solely to unlock the map is unnecessary, since any one qualifying pack grants access.
What does buying the standalone base game add?
The standalone game remains the route to the Realms of Chaos campaign and its base-game content. PC Gamer described the entry package as 14 factions and 24 Legendary Lords before later free additions, but the exact playable roster changes as updates and free content arrive.
Choose the standalone game when you want its campaign as well as Immortal Empires, or when its price is close to a single Lord pack. Choose a Lord pack when Immortal Empires is your only priority and you want the lowest upfront cost.

How should you decide what to buy first?
- Decide whether you need Realms of Chaos. If yes, buy the standalone game; a Lord pack is not a substitute for that campaign.
- If Immortal Empires is the goal, compare one Lord pack with the base-game price. Any qualifying Lords of the End Times pack unlocks the campaign.
- Pick by faction, not by discount alone. Ownership determines which Lords, races and units you can control, so a larger percentage off is irrelevant if you do not want that roster.
- Consider the four-Lord bundle only when you want all four. Its 15% saving is a collection discount, not an additional map unlock.
- Verify the transaction. Confirm Steam activation, regional currency, the exact DLC edition and the final price before checkout.
Is the game still being maintained?
Yes. The official Steam announcements record Patch 9.0.4 on October 15, 2026. The update focused on optimizing Nagash’s campaign and included other fixes and adjustments; the preceding 9.0.3 notes also documented balance changes for Lords of the End Times factions. That continuing patch support matters when buying into a large live strategy sandbox, although it does not guarantee identical performance on every PC.
