For most new players, buy The Wolf Among Us Remastered digitally. Released on 29 October 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox, it contains all five episodes in one purchase, adds restored scenes and archival extras, and can carry your choices into The Wolf Among Us 2. The launch price is $24.99, reduced to $19.99 for most new buyers through 12 November 2026, while eligible owners of the original digital game can pay as little as $12.50 on the same platform.
The original season remains useful if you want the lowest-cost version, already own it, collect 2014 discs, or need a platform that does not yet have Remastered. Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 editions are delayed, and Remastered physical copies are planned for Q1 2027.

What is the complete season of The Wolf Among Us?
The complete first season is a five-episode graphic adventure based on Bill Willingham’s Fables comics. It is a prequel set in 1986 New York, where fairy-tale characters live in a hidden community called Fabletown. You play Bigby Wolf, Fabletown’s sheriff, as he investigates a series of murders.

Remastered puts all five episodes in one current SKU, so a new buyer does not need to locate or download episodes separately. The original Steam listing also identifies all five episodes as included or available, but it is the older 2013–2014 Telltale Tool version rather than the rebuilt edition.
Is The Wolf Among Us Remastered the full game?
Yes. Remastered is the complete first season, not a demo, prologue or episode-one bundle. It includes the entire five-episode story and additional material that was not in the original release.

The launch offer is platform-specific and cannot be combined with another promotion. A physical copy of the original season does not automatically qualify for the digital owner price.
Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Cloud Gaming
The Xbox version is sold through the Microsoft Xbox Store. The product is an Xbox One release that works on Xbox Series X|S through backward compatibility; the store also lists 4K Ultra HD, achievements, cloud saves and Cloud Gaming support.
Xbox’s recorded US price was $19.99 during the launch sale, a $5 saving from the $24.99 list price. The regular launch terms are 20% off for new buyers and 50% off, or $12.50, for eligible owners of the original digital Xbox One version. Xbox 360 ownership is not described as sufficient for the automatic owner discount. Cloud play requires a purchase; the product page lists Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate as compatible cloud tiers but does not describe Remastered as included in the subscription catalogue.
Nintendo Switch and Switch 2
There is no day-one Switch or Switch 2 version. The October 2026 launch release says Nintendo versions will follow later, but gives no date or price. Do not pay a reseller claiming to have an official Remastered Switch SKU unless Nintendo or Telltale has announced it.
GOG and physical Remastered copies
Telltale has said a GOG release will arrive at a later date, without a date or current store page. Pre-orders were not offered for the digital launch. PM Studios is planning physical Remastered editions for Q1 2027, also described as early 2027; platform list and pricing have not been announced, so there is no confirmed Remastered disc listing or Amazon product code yet.

What does the original complete season include?
Original digital edition
The original digital season is still listed on Steam as The Wolf Among Us, app 250320. It is the 2013–2014 build with the same five episodes and 35 Steam Achievements, but it does not include Remastered’s rebuilt models, Noir Mode, deleted scenes, gallery or interview archive.
Historical digital releases also appeared on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, iOS and Android. Current 2026 iOS and Android purchase availability was not verified, so check the relevant mobile store before relying on those versions.
Original retail complete-season discs
Complete-season discs shipped in North America on 4 November 2014 and in Europe on 7 November 2014 for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Used and new copies still circulate through specialist retailers and marketplace listings. A confirmed PlayStation 3 listing is available at this Amazon listing; availability and condition can change.

The retail SKU means the complete five-episode season for its console, but surviving documentation does not establish a universal list of manuals, art cards, download codes or other box inserts. Treat those extras as seller-specific unless the listing shows them. Physical ownership also does not automatically unlock the Remastered digital owner discount.
What was the 2013 collector DVD?
Telltale offered a collector’s DVD to customers who pre-ordered through Telltale Games during the 2013–2014 season. That promotion is closed and is not part of current digital Remastered or original-season purchases.
How much does each Remastered edition cost?
The following launch-window prices were published for 29 October through 12 November 2026 in US dollars. Recheck live storefronts after 12 November because percentages and regional prices can change.

Returning-owner offers require a qualifying digital purchase on the same platform and account. They are not stackable with another promotion. For example, owning the original on Steam does not reduce the PlayStation 5 price, and owning an original physical Xbox One disc is outside the automatic digital 50% offer.
Should an original owner upgrade to Remastered?
Upgrade if you want the visual and audio rebuild, Noir Mode, restored deleted scenes, archival material or the simplest way to register choices for the sequel. Keep the original if you already have a working copy, only want the five-episode story, or play on hardware that Remastered does not yet support.
- Choose Remastered now: you are starting fresh on PC, PS5 or Xbox; you want modern display and controller support; or the $12.50 owner price applies.
- Keep the original: you own a 2014 disc, prefer the original presentation, or need PS3, Vita, Xbox 360 or another legacy platform.
- Wait: you require Nintendo Switch, GOG or a physical Remastered copy and can postpone playing.
The original season has a strong historical critical record: the game’s compiled Metacritic scores are 83/100 on PS4, 83/100 on Xbox 360 and 80/100 on PC. Steam’s original listing displays a Metacritic 85, a 9/10 from Game Informer and 90/100 from PC Gamer. Those figures describe the original release, not a new independent benchmark of Remastered.
Will choices carry into The Wolf Among Us 2?
Remastered can send your decisions to The Wolf Among Us 2 when you sign in with a Telltale Account. Telltale and PM Studios describe the feature as the sequel remembering how you lived the first story.
Buying or replaying Remastered is not required to play the sequel. Players who skip it can establish their earlier choices when The Wolf Among Us 2 begins. The sequel is planned for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, Xbox One, Switch and PC through Steam and Epic Games Store; its final date and launch details remain subject to announcement.

- Choose your hardware. Select Steam, Epic, PS5 or Xbox for an immediate Remastered purchase; select an original disc only for a compatible legacy console; or wait for Nintendo and physical releases.
- Check your ownership account. On Steam, Epic, Xbox or PlayStation, sign into the account that owns the original digital season before viewing the Remastered page.
- Compare the launch price. Confirm whether the storefront shows $19.99, $12.50, $17.49 or the $24.99 list price. On PS5, verify PlayStation Plus status.
- Confirm platform wording. Xbox Series support is through backward compatibility, and Cloud Gaming still requires purchasing the game.
- For a disc, verify the exact console and contents. Check region, case and disc condition, and ask the seller to show any claimed inserts because box extras were not standardized in the available documentation.
What should collectors and preservation-minded players know?
The original retail season is the only currently available physical form of the game. It preserves the 2014 console release, but it does not provide Remastered’s enhancements or an automatic digital upgrade. Remastered’s planned Q1 2027 physical editions are the better target if you want the rebuilt version in a case, while an original disc is the practical choice for PS3, Vita or Xbox 360 hardware.

The game is rated Mature 17+ by the ESRB for intense violence, blood and gore, sexual themes, partial nudity, use of tobacco, drug reference and strong language. It is a prequel to the Fables comics; the related comic adaptation is a separate book, not a game edition or included bonus.
How we picked the recommended edition
The recommendation prioritizes a complete five-episode purchase, current platform availability, documented enhancements, sequel choice support and the launch-window owner discount. Legacy discs and the original digital version remain listed because they solve different needs: older-console compatibility, collecting, lower-cost access or preference for the original presentation.

Does a 2014 physical disc contain every episode?
The retail complete-season SKU represents all five episodes for its listed console. The available documentation does not confirm a universal set of manuals, art cards or download codes, so inspect the individual seller’s photographs and description.
Is the original game still available on iPhone or Android?
Those mobile platforms carried episodes historically, but live 2026 App Store and Google Play purchase status was not verified. Check the current store listing for your device and region before buying a mobile version.
Do I need to replay Remastered before The Wolf Among Us 2?
No. The sequel can ask you to establish your earlier choices at startup if you did not use Remastered’s Telltale Account carry-forward. Remastered simply provides an additional way to preserve those decisions.

The Xbox product page lists Cloud Gaming compatibility with Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate when the game is purchased. It does not state that Remastered itself is included in the subscription catalogue.
