The Whisper is Destiny 2’s reprised Exotic mission from Into the Light. It no longer starts through Io, a public event, or the old hidden Taken portal. Launch it from the Into the Light activity area, choose Normal or Legend, and prepare for a timed run combining Taken combat, precision platforming, and a final boss encounter.
This guide covers the mission route and all seven Oracles. Destroying every Oracle completes the Oracular Seeker triumph and awards the Karve of the Worm Exotic ship.
How to launch The Whisper
The reprised mission is available through Destiny 2’s Into the Light content rather than the original Io patrol-zone trigger. You do not need to travel to Io or wait for a public event.

The mission supports up to three players. A fireteam is useful for the combat sections, but the platforming route remains dangerous because one missed jump can cost time or force a checkpoint recovery.
Before starting the Oracle run
- Complete the mission once if necessary. Some players have reported that the Oracles did not appear on their first completion and became available after finishing The Whisper once.
- Bring a long-range weapon. A scout rifle, sniper, or another accurate weapon is useful for distant Oracles, especially Oracle 7.
- Use movement tools if you have them. Grapple, Eager Edge sword movement, and Warlock movement options can make some jumps easier, although they are not required for every route.
- Do not waste time looking for Whisper of the Worm. You do not need to equip the Exotic sniper rifle to destroy the Oracles. Any weapon that can damage them works.
- Expect the timer to matter. The Oracles are off the main route. Stopping to collect all seven can leave less time for the final combat encounter.
The Whisper mission walkthrough
1. Clear the opening Taken area
The mission begins with Taken enemies rather than immediately dropping you into the platforming route. Defeat the opening group and destroy the first Taken Blight. A hole opens below it; descend through the opening to begin the traversal section.
2. Follow the red-lit traversal route
Continue through the dark corridors and platforming areas until the objective changes to “Traverse Deeper into the Anomaly.” The route uses narrow ledges, wall-mounted platforms, moving pistons, vents, slanted surfaces, and gaps that require careful timing.

When a route appears to dead-end, check the walls and ceiling. The mission frequently hides the next platform in a dark corner or uses a moving object as the intended jump. Red lighting generally marks the early route, while later sections lead into the large green, overgrown chamber.
3. Work through the elevator and Vex sections
After the first major jumping areas, you reach a corridor with moving platforms and an elevator. The elevator takes you upward, but several Oracle locations are positioned around this section, so do not automatically follow the blue-lit path forward.

Later, you will encounter Vandal snipers near a wall opening. This area contains another hidden route and one of the Oracles. Clear or avoid the enemies before attempting the jumps; being knocked off the ledge is more costly than taking a few seconds to remove a sniper.
4. Cross the green room
The large green room contains a central stone orb and several grassy ledges around its outside. The obvious route eventually leads onward, but two Oracles are hidden around and below this chamber. Explore the outer ledges before leaving.

After the green room, the route transitions into additional Vex structures and narrow circular ledges. Watch for hidden drops and elevated platforms before entering the final encounter area. Once all collectibles have been destroyed, finish the mission normally to receive the associated triumph and ship reward.
All seven Oracle locations
The Oracles are bright objects when they have spawned, but the dark rooms can make them difficult to spot. Use the route landmarks below rather than searching randomly.
Oracle 1: the first red-light cavern
- Destroy the first Taken Blight and drop through the hole.
- Continue until the objective reads “Traverse Deeper into the Anomaly.”
- Enter the large dark room with the red light.
- Before jumping toward the red light, turn left.
- Jump over the wreckage and stay along the left wall.
- Follow the ledge around the corner to a small alcove.
The first Oracle is at the end of the alcove near a fallen enemy. Destroying it reportedly advances White Nail II intrinsic progress.

Oracle 2: the room above the elevator ledge
- Crawl through the corridor containing moving platforms.
- Take the elevator upward.
- Do not immediately follow the blue-lit route that continues the mission.
- Remain on the ledge and move forward.
- At the gap between the ledges, look upward for a narrow opening.
- Jump into the opening and enter the hidden room.
The Oracle is inside the room on the right, near fallen enemies. Its reported reward is the Karve of the Worm Schematic.
Oracle 3: the Vex node near the wall opening
- Continue beyond the elevator section until you reach the area with Vandal snipers.
- Jump onto the ledge at the wall opening.
- Do not pass through the opening.
- Turn around and locate the Vex node behind you.
- Shoot the node to create a temporary platform.
- Jump onto the spawned platform to reach the Oracle.
This Oracle is easy to miss because the node, rather than the Oracle itself, activates the route to it.
Oracle 4: the hidden room in the green chamber
- Enter the large green, overgrown room with the central stone orb.
- Use the grassy ledges on the left side.
- Follow the ledges around the outside of the room until you are above the entrance.
- Look down into the crack near the entrance.
- Drop onto the hidden ledge.
- Enter the small side room containing the Oracle.
This is one of the easiest Oracles to overlook because the main route seems to lead directly out of the room. The collectible is in a lower side area near the entrance, not on the obvious final platform.
Optional shortcut: A player-reported method can damage this Oracle from the wall-jumping route before completing the full green-room traversal. From approximately halfway along the opposite wall, aim at the small white box across the room. Rockets—and possibly sniper or scout rifle fire—may reach the Oracle. Treat this as an unofficial technique rather than a guaranteed mechanic.
Oracle 5: the Taken-Thrall passage below the green room
- From the green room, drop through the crack in the floor.
- Run through the dark room containing Taken Thralls and Vex bodies.
- At the far end, look for a small passage on the right.
- Enter the low passage and turn into the side room.
The fifth Oracle is inside. Its reported reward is White Nail IV intrinsic progress.

Oracle 6: the hidden space beneath the circular ledge
- Leave the green-room section and follow the very narrow circular ledge around the Vex structure.
- Reach the point where the normal route requires a long drop to a small platform.
- Before taking that jump, look down and left.
- Drop into the hidden space below.
The sixth Oracle is inside this concealed area. Destroying it reportedly awards another Karve of the Worm Schematic.
Oracle 7: above and behind the Vex gate
- From the circular ledge, backtrack toward the entrance to the large green room.
- Face the distant Vex portal or gate.
- Use the platforms built into the cavern wall on the right.
- Climb until you are above the Vex gate.
- Look behind the gate structure for the Oracle.
You can destroy it from above with a long-range weapon, or drop down and destroy it directly. The first jump to the right-wall platforms may be difficult without a movement option such as Grapple, Eager Edge, or a suitable Warlock movement ability.
The seventh Oracle is reported to complete the triumph without granting a separate intrinsic or schematic reward.

Destroy all seven to complete Oracular Seeker and earn the Karve of the Worm Exotic ship. The older ship A Thousand Wings belongs to the original version of The Whisper and is not the reprised mission’s Oracle reward.

- Finish the mission once. Some players have reported that the collectibles did not appear until after an initial completion.
- Check the exact landmark. Oracle 2 is above the elevator route, Oracle 4 is below the green-room entrance, and Oracle 6 is below the circular ledge. All three are easy to run past.
- Look for the activation node. Oracle 3 requires shooting a Vex node to create a temporary platform.
- Confirm your fireteam’s progress. A multiplayer registration issue was reported in which Oracles appeared to count for one player but not their clanmates. If progress is inconsistent, have each player verify their triumph and consider running the mission again.
- Do not assume the Oracle is invisible. In dark areas it can blend into the environment, but a spawned Oracle is extremely bright once you are looking in the correct location.

Do I need Whisper of the Worm to destroy the Oracles?
No. You can destroy them with any weapon that damages them.
What do all seven Oracles unlock?
Destroying all seven completes the Oracular Seeker triumph and awards the Karve of the Worm Exotic ship.
Can I complete The Whisper solo?
The activity supports up to three players. A solo run is possible if you can handle the combat, platforming, and timer, but a fireteam can make the combat sections easier.
Why are my Oracles not appearing?
Some players have reported needing to complete the mission once before the Oracles appeared. Also check that you are in the reprised Into the Light activity and inspect each location carefully, since the objects can be difficult to see in dark sections.
Is the Oracle run timed?
Yes. The mission timer continues while you search, so plan the route and avoid unnecessary deaths or backtracking.

The fastest reliable strategy is to learn the route first, then make a dedicated Oracle run: collect Oracles 1–3 through the early traversal and elevator sections, search both sides of the green room for Oracles 4 and 5, and collect Oracles 6 and 7 around the circular Vex structure. Complete all seven for Oracular Seeker and the Karve of the Worm Exotic ship.
