For most players, the LG C6 OLED is the best-balanced screen to put on a shortlist for GTA 6 on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. It combines 4K, VRR, Dolby Vision and a 165Hz maximum with OLED contrast. Choose the Samsung S95H if reflections are your main problem, the LG G6 if you want a flush wall installation, or the Hisense U7SG for a brighter-room Mini LED alternative. On a desk, the LG UltraGear 27GR93U-B is the sensible compact choice, while Samsung’s 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 is aimed at premium mixed console-and-PC use.

This is a pre-launch display guide, not a report on how GTA VI performs on any screen. Rockstar lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, with Sony also identifying the game as PS5 Pro Enhanced and excluding PS4. Official listings do not yet establish a final frame-rate, rendering-resolution or game-specific HDR matrix. Rockstar’s announced release date is November 19, 2026, so buy for your room and your wider game library rather than for an unconfirmed performance mode.

What is actually known about GTA VI’s display requirements?

GTA VI is scheduled for Thursday, November 19, 2026, according to Rockstar’s announcement. The platform listing covers PS5 and Xbox Series X|S; Sony’s listing also marks the title PS5 Pro Enhanced and says PS4 is not supported. None of those listings supplies a complete console frame-rate, internal-resolution or HDR-format table.

An August report described a 30fps demonstration and uncertainty about a 60fps option. That is a report about an observed demonstration, not a launch specification. Treat every 120Hz, 165Hz or 240Hz figure in a television or monitor listing as the panel’s capability, never as proof that GTA VI will render at that rate.

  • Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
  • Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
  • Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

The distinction matters because a display cannot create additional game frames. PlayStation’s own guidance says to enable 120Hz video output “for your TV and games that support 120 Hz frame rate.” A compatible panel can accept a supported signal and make other games smoother, but it cannot turn a fixed 30fps game into 60fps.

How should you choose a screen before launch?

Start with the room, seating distance and the consoles you actually own. Then check the display’s game features and HDMI layout. A GTA VI logo is not a substitute for these practical decisions.

Match the size to your seating position

A living-room player several feet from the screen generally benefits from a 55-inch-or-larger TV, while a desk player normally wants a 27- or 32-inch monitor. The listed 55-inch C6 and G6 examples are TV-sized products; the 27-inch UltraGear and 32-inch Odyssey are near-field options. Do not pay for a large television if you sit close enough that a desk monitor is easier to see, and do not choose a small monitor for a sofa simply because its refresh-number is higher.

Decide between OLED and Mini LED

OLED models can switch pixels very quickly and produce individually controlled dark pixels, which is attractive for night scenes and menus. Mini LED models such as the U7SG use a bright backlight and are often easier to justify in a room with daylight. The trade-off is that the U7SG review reports slower pixel transitions and blurrier motion than premium OLED alternatives.

Count suitable HDMI inputs, not just total sockets

With both a PS5 and an Xbox Series console, you need two suitable high-bandwidth connections unless a receiver or soundbar is placed in the signal path. The S95H provides four 4K/165Hz-capable HDMI inputs, the U7SG provides four HDMI 2.1-bandwidth inputs, and the Roku Pro Series 2025 provides only two high-bandwidth inputs. The number printed on the back of the set is more useful than a generic “gaming TV” label; reserve one input if an eARC soundbar will occupy it.

Separate display capability from game support

120Hz and VRR can help games that output compatible frame rates. They do not guarantee a GTA VI performance mode. A 165Hz or 240Hz monitor may still be worthwhile if you also play supported PC titles, but that extra headroom is not an established GTA VI-on-console advantage.

Which TV is the best all-round choice?

LG C6 OLED: the balanced living-room pick

The LG C6 is the strongest general recommendation for a moderately lit or dark room. LG documents an OLED panel, Dolby Vision and a 165Hz PC-capable maximum; its 2026 launch announcement specifies 4K/165Hz VRR across the C6 sizes. For a 55-inch recommendation, use the model designation OLED55C6PUA and verify the regional suffix before ordering.

RTINGS places the C6 in its upper-mid-range 120Hz TV category and reports Dolby Vision gaming compatibility with Xbox Series X. That gives an Xbox owner broad format flexibility without requiring a promise that GTA VI itself will use Dolby Vision. The set also leaves room for other 120Hz-capable console games and PC use.

Its sensible target is a viewer who wants OLED contrast, modern console connectivity and a conventional TV size without paying solely for a flagship installation. Choose a different model if your room has persistent direct reflections or if you specifically want the most aggressive matte treatment.

LG’s OLED55C6PUA product page lists the 55-inch model and its display features.

Samsung S95H: premium OLED for reflection-prone rooms

The Samsung S95H is the premium alternative when glare control is more important than a glossy OLED finish. RTINGS’ 2026 flagship testing reports four HDMI inputs capable of 4K/165Hz signals and strong handling of reflections. That makes it convenient for two consoles, a PC and an eARC connection, provided your cable and audio layout fit those ports.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The matte treatment has a real compromise: RTINGS reports raised blacks when ambient light reaches the panel. Samsung also does not support Dolby Vision on this model. If Xbox Dolby Vision support is a deciding factor, the C6 or G6 is a better match; if daylight reflections are the daily nuisance, the S95H’s surface may be more useful.

RTINGS also notes low-frame-rate stutter and cumulative static-image burn-in risk as general OLED considerations. Those findings are display behavior, not GTA VI measurements, and they should inform how you use the screen with static dashboards or long pause screens.

See the S95H review for the tested port and glare details.

LG G6: premium wall-mounted alternative

The LG G6 is aimed at buyers who care about a clean, flush wall installation as much as panel performance. LG documents a supplied flush wall mount, reflection-control technology and Dolby Vision, with a 165Hz maximum that requires a suitable PC signal. The 55-inch example is OLED55G6WUA.

Its premium is easiest to defend when the mount, room layout and display treatment are central to the project. It is not defensible as a GTA VI frame-rate purchase: no official game listing establishes a mode that needs 165Hz. Console owners should choose it for the installation and OLED presentation, then configure the console for whatever output the final game supports.

LG’s G6 product page describes the mount and display features.

Hisense U7SG: brighter-room Mini LED value

The Hisense U7SG is the practical choice for a bright room or for someone who prefers Mini LED to OLED. RTINGS’ original review describes a 2026 4K Mini LED with strong brightness, VRR, Dolby Vision and four HDMI 2.1-bandwidth inputs. Those four inputs are useful when both consoles, a PC and an audio connection compete for ports.

The reason it does not rank above the OLED options is motion behavior. RTINGS reports slower pixel transitions and blurrier motion than premium OLED alternatives. That does not make the U7SG unsuitable for GTA VI; it means the choice should be driven by room brightness, price positioning and tolerance for that trade-off rather than by a supposed game-specific advantage.

Read the U7SG review for the input and motion qualifications.

Roku Pro Series 2025: budget 120Hz TV

The Roku Pro Series 2025 is the budget-oriented TV pick when 4K/120Hz and VRR matter but a higher-priced OLED or Mini LED set does not fit. RTINGS reports those features through two high-bandwidth inputs. The other HDMI sockets should not be assumed to offer the same bandwidth, so inspect the labels and manual before assigning both consoles.

RTINGS reports weaker brightness and color than the more expensive alternatives. That makes the Pro Series a reasonable entry point for a living room where cost matters, but not a no-compromise choice for HDR impact or bright-room viewing. The 120Hz capability remains useful for other supported games; it does not establish GTA VI’s frame rate.

The Roku Pro Series 2025 review details the two high-bandwidth inputs.

Which monitor is better for a desk?

LG UltraGear 27GR93U-B: compact 4K console monitor

The LG UltraGear 27GR93U-B is the straightforward desk choice for someone who wants a 27-inch 4K screen rather than a television. LG specifies a 3840 × 2160 IPS panel, 144Hz maximum, DisplayHDR 400 and two HDMI 2.1 inputs. Those two HDMI inputs can accommodate a PS5 and an Xbox Series console without an HDMI switch.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft

Its 144Hz ceiling is more than the consoles may use in GTA VI, because no final game frame-rate mode has been published. The reason to buy it is the compact 4K form factor and console-friendly HDMI connectivity, not an assumed 144fps output. A monitor also changes the room experience: you will need to plan separate audio if your desk setup does not already provide it.

Confirm the exact regional model before buying through the LG product listing.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 G80SH: premium 32-inch mixed-use display

Samsung’s Odyssey OLED G8 G80SH is the premium desk option for a player who also expects substantial PC use. Samsung’s lineup announcement specifies a 32-inch 3840 × 2160 QD-OLED panel, HDMI 2.1 and 240Hz. The resolution and size give a larger desk canvas than the 27-inch UltraGear, while the OLED panel targets contrast and fast pixel response.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The 240Hz specification is primarily a reason to consider the monitor for compatible PC games. It is not evidence that GTA VI will run at 240Hz, 120Hz or even 60fps on a console. Verify the regional retail model and how its HDMI inputs behave before purchase, because the announcement is a dated lineup specification rather than a GTA VI compatibility statement.

Samsung’s announcement is available at this Odyssey lineup page.

What do Series S, Series X and PS5 change?

Microsoft lists 1440p gaming resolution for Xbox Series S and True 4K gaming resolution for Xbox Series X. Those are console-level specifications, not confirmed native GTA VI render resolutions. A Series S buyer should therefore avoid paying for a panel solely on the assumption that the game will render at native 4K; choose based on room, HDR, ports and other games as well.

PS5 provides output controls that let you check what the connected display accepts. Sony documents compatible 1440p testing, 60/120Hz output, HDR and VRR options. PS5 Pro is identified as supported and enhanced in Sony’s listing, but a display cannot reveal a game mode that the developer has not announced.

  4. Set 120Hz output, VRR, ALLM and HDR to automatic or enabled only when the display reports support and you want those functions.
  5. Launch a game that explicitly supports the selected output and confirm that the display’s game mode is active. Do not infer GTA VI performance from the panel’s refresh label before its final specifications are published.

PlayStation’s 4K resolution guide explains the 120Hz qualification and the available output checks.

Do you need a new HDMI cable?

Not automatically. A certified Ultra High Speed HDMI cable is a sensible replacement when an existing cable is damaged, too long for the installation or unable to maintain a 4K/120 connection. HDMI Licensing Administrator associates that cable category with 4K/120 configurations and its certification label.

For a short run from a new TV to one console, the cable supplied with the console or display may already be suitable. Replace it when the console repeatedly loses signal, drops to a lower mode or fails the output test; do not add a cable as a mandatory accessory to every purchase.

What should you check before paying?

  • Room light: choose OLED contrast for a controlled room, or consider Mini LED and glare handling where daylight dominates.
  • Viewing distance: select a TV size for sofa viewing and a 27- or 32-inch monitor for near-field play.
  • High-bandwidth inputs: count the ports needed for PS5, Xbox, PC and eARC; do not assume every HDMI socket has identical capability.
  • HDR format: Dolby Vision is available on the C6, G6 and U7SG, while the S95H does not support it. GTA VI’s use of any HDR format remains unresolved.
  • Motion and retention: OLED offers fast pixel response but has general burn-in and low-frame-rate considerations; the U7SG trades some motion clarity for brightness.
  • Other games: pay for 120Hz, VRR or higher refresh only if your existing or planned games can use them.
  • Model suffix: verify the regional suffix, screen size and input specifications rather than relying on a family name alone.

How we picked these screens

The shortlist uses published display specifications and independent TV assessments for contrast, glare handling, brightness, motion, VRR and HDMI bandwidth. It ranks products by the decision they solve—balanced living-room use, reflections, wall installation, bright-room value, budget 120Hz, compact desk play or premium mixed use—not by unverified GTA VI frame-rate claims. Current retail prices, stock and regional model suffixes should be checked separately because they change and are not established by the specifications above.

What should you buy now?

Choose the LG C6 if you want the most complete all-round TV feature set for a dark or moderately lit room. Choose the Samsung S95H for glare handling, the LG G6 for its supplied flush mount, the Hisense U7SG for a bright-room Mini LED approach, and the Roku Pro Series 2025 when a lower-cost 120Hz TV is the priority. Desk players should choose the LG 27GR93U-B for compact 4K console use or the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 G80SH when premium PC use justifies its 32-inch 240Hz design.

None of those choices guarantees a GTA VI frame rate or HDR format. The safest purchase is the one that fits your room, has enough correctly specified HDMI inputs and improves the other games you already play while Rockstar’s final technical details remain outstanding.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use an Xbox Series S with a 4K television for GTA VI?

Yes, the console can be connected to a 4K TV, but Microsoft positions Series S around 1440p gaming resolution. That specification does not establish GTA VI’s native render resolution, so a 4K panel should be chosen for viewing distance and broader use rather than as proof of a 4K game mode.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Is a 240Hz monitor useful if I only play on PS5?

Its extra refresh headroom is unlikely to matter for a console-only GTA VI setup because no 240Hz mode has been announced. The Odyssey OLED G8’s 240Hz specification becomes more meaningful when the same monitor will also serve a PC capable of using higher refresh rates.

Will Dolby Vision definitely work in GTA VI?

No. Dolby Vision support is a property of the display and source combination, and official GTA VI materials have not confirmed the game’s HDR format. Xbox Series X compatibility has been reported for some displays, while the S95H lacks Dolby Vision support.

Does the physical GTA VI package include a disc?

Rockstar says the physical version is a code-in-box package rather than a playable disc. Rockstar’s support information also describes pre-loading beginning November 12, so buyers should have storage and account access ready before release.
