The cord and weight discrepancy is plausibly a difference between published dimensions and a test setup, or between production and regional measurements. It is not evidence that two different kettles are being sold, but check the physical clearance under your cabinets if the listed 292mm height matters.
How does the KE6450K work in daily use?

Is the KE6450K safe, and does it switch off automatically?
Yes. Sunbeam documents a three-way safety system: automatic shut-off after boiling, a boil-dry cut-out and an overheating shut-down. These protections address the common cases of unattended boiling, an empty jug and excessive temperature.
- Automatic shut-off: the switch releases after the water boils.
- Boil-dry cut-out: heating is interrupted if the jug is switched on without enough water.

Retailer summaries commonly praise the clear view and comfortable pouring, but pouring comfort is subjective and can change with fill level. Hold the handle firmly, keep fingers clear of the glass and avoid pouring directly over the lid hinge.

The Good Guys’ customer summary includes both positive comments about quick boiling and occasional complaints about noise. Appliances Online’s lower overall rating does not isolate acoustics. These comments are uncontrolled: room acoustics, water volume, mineral scale and individual expectations can all change the impression.

How do you clean and descale the glass kettle?

It will not switch on
- Confirm the jug is seated correctly on the base and the base is connected to power.
- Check that the water is above the minimum mark.
- If it recently boiled dry, unplug it and let the cut-out reset while the kettle cools.
It switches off before boiling
- Inspect the lid and close it until it locks.
- Look for heavy scale around the concealed element and clean it using the manual’s approved method.
- Do not continue operating it if the switch repeatedly trips with a normal fill; contact the seller or Sunbeam.
Water leaks or the switch stays on
- Stop using the kettle, unplug it and allow it to cool.
