Boil-dry protection
If the kettle is switched on without enough water, the boil-dry cut-out is intended to interrupt heating. The guide still requires a minimum 0.50L fill, so the protection is a backup rather than permission to operate empty.

Sunbeam warns: “Use caution when pouring the water from your kettle, as boiling water will scald.” Keep the spout pointed away from hands and children, avoid filling past the maximum line, and return the kettle to the base only after pouring. The safety system controls heating; it cannot prevent burns from hot water, steam or the metal body.
How do you use the Sunbeam Alinea KE2700W?
Normal operation is straightforward, but following the fill limits and first-use routine helps avoid false starts and spills.
- Place the base: set the 360-degree power base on a dry, level bench near a suitable outlet. Unwind only enough of the 900mm cord to reach the socket and keep the remaining cord in the base storage.

How should you clean and descale it?
The removable limescale filter catches scale particles before they reach the cup, but it does not stop scale forming inside the kettle. The switch cuts out before boiling
