Wix is the stronger choice for most businesses that expect to grow. It combines broader ecommerce, scheduling, marketing, template, and technical SEO capabilities. Strikingly is the better value when you need a simple site quickly—such as a portfolio, landing page, event site, or very small catalog—and want a lower starting price.
The practical decision comes down to future complexity. Strikingly keeps setup and costs low, while Wix gives you more room for products, content, integrations, and search optimization. The comparison below uses 2026 plan information and distinguishes free trials from features suitable for a production business.
What are Strikingly and Wix designed to do?
Strikingly is a simplified website builder centered on section-based layouts and fast publishing. It suits a focused message, a small portfolio, a campaign landing page, an event site, or a shop with only a few products. Its lower-cost paid tier includes a custom-domain connection and limited selling tools without requiring you to assemble a larger business platform.
Recommended Free Tools
Wix is a broader website and business platform. Its plans span basic branded sites, payment acceptance, ecommerce, scheduling, AI-assisted creation, marketing, and technical SEO. That wider scope makes Wix more appropriate when your website will become a central sales, booking, publishing, or lead-generation channel.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Neither platform is universally “better.” A one-page consultant site has different requirements from a growing store, and choosing the platform with the right ceiling matters more than choosing the one with the most features on day one.
Which is cheaper: Strikingly or Wix?
Strikingly has the lower entry price on annual billing, while Wix charges more for comparable business capability. Displayed prices are based on yearly subscriptions paid in full; Wix says the amount can vary by location, taxes, and billing period, so check the checkout total before publishing a price comparison.
| Plan and provider | Annual-billing price | Included capabilities and limits |
|---|---|---|
| Strikingly Free | $0 | 500 MB storage, 5 GB monthly bandwidth, and a Strikingly-branded domain, according to WIRED’s 2026 plan table. |
| Strikingly Limited | $8/month | Custom-domain connection, 1 GB storage per site, 50 GB bandwidth, up to five pages, and selling one product with a 5% transaction fee. |
| Strikingly Pro | $16/month | 20 GB storage, unlimited bandwidth, up to 100 pages, up to 300 products, and a 2% transaction fee. |
| Strikingly VIP | $49/month | 100 GB storage, up to 500 products, multiple membership tiers, and a 0% transaction fee. |
| Wix Free | $0 | Free site builder for testing; a paid plan is required for a custom domain and business features. The available data does not state storage or bandwidth limits for this tier. |
| Wix Light | $17/month | Basic branded site tier for visitors and content that do not require payment acceptance. |
| Wix Core | $29/month | 50 GB storage, payment acceptance, basic ecommerce, and scheduling/services. |
| Wix Business | $39/month | Higher business tier for organizations that need more capacity and growth-oriented tools than the entry plans provide. |
On price alone, Strikingly Limited costs less than Wix Light, and Strikingly Pro remains below Wix Core. That comparison is not like-for-like in every case: Wix Core is the tier where payments, basic ecommerce, and scheduling begin, while Strikingly places a small amount of selling capability in Limited.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteAnnual billing is also a commitment. If you are validating an idea, use each free builder as a trial environment first, then confirm the paid plan’s current checkout price, renewal terms, taxes, and regional availability before committing.
What can you build with each platform?
Both builders can produce a professional public website without coding, but their ideal project sizes differ.
Strikingly is a good fit for focused sites
- Landing pages for a single campaign or service.
- Personal portfolios and creative résumés.
- Event, wedding, or announcement sites.
- Small businesses that need contact information, services, and a few calls to action.
- A very small shop or product test.
Its section-based approach reduces decisions during design. That can shorten the path from blank page to published site, but it also makes a highly customized information architecture less natural as the project expands.
Wix is a good fit for expanding operations
- Service companies that need bookings or appointment scheduling.
- Stores with a deeper catalog or plans for more products.
- Businesses publishing substantial content and landing pages.
- Teams that need marketing, payments, and site management in one platform.
- Organizations that expect to refine technical SEO over time.
Wix’s broader toolset can take longer to configure, yet it reduces the likelihood that you will outgrow the builder when you add services, products, campaigns, or content.

Can you sell products on Strikingly and Wix?
Yes, but the scale and economics are different. Strikingly supports a small catalog on lower tiers; Wix starts payment acceptance and basic ecommerce on Core.
| Ecommerce question | Strikingly | Wix |
|---|---|---|
| Can a free plan run a production store? | The free plan is a limited trial environment with a branded domain. The official plan information places product selling on paid tiers. | The free builder is for trying the platform; payment acceptance and business ecommerce require a paid plan. |
| Smallest paid selling option | Limited allows one product and charges a 5% transaction fee. | Core is the first cited tier with payment acceptance and basic ecommerce. |
| Catalog ceiling stated in the plans | Up to 300 products on Pro and up to 500 on VIP. | The cited plan information does not state a product-count ceiling. |
| Platform transaction fee | 5% on Limited, 2% on Pro, and 0% on VIP. | The cited comparison identifies 0% platform fees from Core, subject to payment-provider terms. |
For a one-product test, Strikingly Limited keeps the setup inexpensive and avoids paying for a full business tier. For a service business that also needs appointments, or for a store expected to add products and marketing workflows, Wix Core or a higher tier provides the more complete foundation.
Remember that a platform fee is separate from the fee charged by your payment provider. Wix’s 0% platform-fee statement does not mean card processing is free, and Strikingly’s listed percentages do not replace payment processing costs.
Which website builder is better for SEO?
Wix is the safer long-term SEO choice because the 2026 comparison credits it with broader technical controls, including custom URL slugs and redirects. Strikingly provides basic SEO settings, but the same comparison describes important technical options as missing or limited.
What Strikingly can handle
Strikingly’s basic SEO tools can support page titles, descriptions, and the fundamentals needed for a small site to be discoverable. That is often enough when your search strategy is local, your site has only a few pages, and you are not frequently restructuring URLs.
Why Wix has more headroom
Custom slugs let you align URLs with the page’s search intent, while redirects help preserve an old address when content moves. Those controls become increasingly important as you add pages, change navigation, publish campaigns, or consolidate content. Wix also combines its SEO tools with a larger template and business ecosystem, giving a growing site more ways to build and optimize landing pages.
Neither builder can guarantee rankings. Content quality, relevance, links, technical performance, and the competitiveness of your market still determine results. Choose Wix when you know you will need hands-on control of site structure; choose Strikingly when the site is intentionally small and stability matters more than advanced controls.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.

How do the templates and design systems compare?
WIRED reports more than 200 Strikingly templates, while Wix advertises more than 2,000 responsive, customizable templates. The larger number does not automatically produce a better design, but it gives Wix users more starting points for different industries and page structures.
Strikingly’s design trade-off
Strikingly’s section-based editing is easier to learn and encourages concise pages. You can focus on a hero message, proof, services, and a call to action without designing every component from scratch. The trade-off is less freedom when you want unusual layouts, a deep navigation system, or highly specific content templates.
Wix’s design trade-off
Wix offers more variety and customization, which helps a brand match its visual identity and create different page types. More options also mean more design decisions and a greater need for consistency in spacing, typography, navigation, and mobile presentation.
For a fast launch, start with the closest template rather than rebuilding every element. For a long-lived business site, review the mobile version, page hierarchy, and reusable design choices before adding large amounts of content.
What AI tools does each builder provide?
Both platforms offer AI-assisted website creation. Wix advertises an AI site builder and additional AI creation tools, while Strikingly also provides an AI website builder.

Which platform has better support?
Strikingly lists 24/7 chat support on its plans. Wix lists 24/7 customer care. Both therefore provide a route to help outside normal business hours, but support availability does not remove the need to keep your own content, domain records, payment details, and account access organized.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Before launch, document who owns the account, which email receives billing notices, where the domain is registered, and how another team member can recover access. Those operational details matter more than a small difference in support wording when a site is tied to leads or sales.
Is Strikingly better than Wix for a small business?
Strikingly is better when “small business” means a compact web presence with a narrow scope: a few pages, one offer, and perhaps one product. Its lower starting tier and simpler editing can get a credible site online without paying for tools you will not use.
Wix is better when the business needs bookings, payment acceptance, a broader catalog, frequent campaigns, or a site that will keep expanding. Paying more at the start can be cheaper than rebuilding when a simple builder no longer supports the business model or search structure you need.
Is Wix worth paying for?
Wix is worth paying for when the paid features directly support revenue or operations. Core is the relevant starting point for payment acceptance, basic ecommerce, and scheduling; Light is aimed at a basic branded site that does not need payments. Business or higher becomes easier to justify when marketing, catalog depth, collaboration, and growth require more capacity.
Wix is harder to justify for a static portfolio or single landing page whose only requirements are a custom domain, a few sections, and a contact method. In that case, Strikingly’s lower-cost paid option may deliver the needed outcome with less configuration.
How should you choose between Strikingly and Wix?
Choose Strikingly Limited when
- You need a landing page, portfolio, event page, or one-product test.
- The five-page limit and one-product catalog match the project.
- A lower annual-billing price matters more than advanced SEO or business tooling.
- You want a custom-domain connection without moving to a full ecommerce tier.
Choose Strikingly Pro when
- You need up to 100 pages, more storage, unlimited bandwidth, or a catalog of up to 300 products.
- You want to remove the free-site branding while keeping a simpler operating model.
- You are comfortable with the plan’s 2% transaction fee for sales.
Choose Strikingly VIP when
- Your catalog approaches the stated 500-product limit.
- Membership tiers are important.
- A 0% platform transaction fee is more valuable than the higher subscription.
Choose Wix Light when
- You need a basic branded website but no payment acceptance.
- You value the larger template ecosystem and want room to add business tools later.
Choose Wix Core when
- You run a service business that needs scheduling.
- You need payment acceptance or basic ecommerce.
- You want stronger technical SEO controls than a simple site builder provides.
Choose Wix Business or above when
- The site is a central marketing and sales system rather than an online brochure.
- You expect deeper catalogs, more campaigns, or collaboration as the organization grows.
- The value of broader business tooling outweighs the higher subscription.
What is the safest way to test either builder?
Use a short validation process before paying for a year or moving a live domain.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Define the minimum site. List the pages, products, forms, bookings, and integrations you actually need in the first release.
- Build the same core pages in both free editors. Compare how quickly you can produce a readable home page, service or product page, contact path, and mobile layout.
- Test the critical business action. If you sell, verify the product flow and payment setup available on the candidate paid tier. If you book appointments, confirm that scheduling is included where you plan to subscribe.
- Check the future structure. Count likely pages and products for the next year, not only today. Compare that estimate with each plan’s stated limits.
- Review search controls. Decide whether custom slugs, redirects, and ongoing technical SEO work are part of your plan. If they are, Wix has the stronger documented position in this comparison.
- Audit the mobile result. Check menus, text size, image cropping, forms, and checkout or booking steps on a phone.
- Confirm commercial terms. Recheck annual versus monthly billing, location-based taxes, payment-provider charges, transaction fees, storage, bandwidth, and domain requirements at checkout.
- Publish only after ownership is clear. Use a business-controlled account and record who can access billing, the domain, analytics, and recovery email.
What pitfalls should you avoid?
Confusing a free plan with a launch-ready plan
Both free tiers are useful for testing, but branded domains and restricted business features can weaken trust and prevent the workflows you need. Build the draft for free, then budget for the paid capabilities required at launch.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Choosing by monthly price without counting transaction fees
A lower subscription can become less attractive when a store pays a percentage of sales on every order. Compare the plan fee with your expected sales volume and include payment-provider charges separately.
Outgrowing page or catalog limits
Estimate the number of pages and products you will need after your first marketing campaign, not just on launch day. Strikingly’s stated ceilings make this calculation straightforward; Wix’s cited materials do not provide a product-count ceiling, so confirm the current limit for your account and region.
Assuming templates determine search performance
A polished template cannot compensate for weak content or an inflexible URL structure. Make the SEO-control decision based on how often you will publish, reorganize, and optimize pages.

What is the final verdict for 2026?
Choose Strikingly for the fastest, least expensive route to a focused website or very small store. Choose Wix when you need payments, scheduling, broader ecommerce, a larger template ecosystem, or stronger technical SEO controls that will support growth. For most growing businesses, Wix is worth the higher subscription; for a simple site with a tightly defined scope, Strikingly delivers better value.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my own domain on a free Strikingly or Wix site?
No. The free Strikingly site uses a Strikingly-branded domain, and Wix requires a paid plan for a custom domain. Treat the free tiers as drafting and testing environments rather than the final address customers should remember.
Which platform is easier for a nontechnical owner to maintain?
Strikingly generally requires fewer design and configuration decisions because its editor is section-based. Wix can remain manageable, but its greater flexibility means you should establish consistent navigation, typography, and page patterns before several people begin editing.
Do Wix’s 0% platform fees eliminate all selling costs?
No. The 0% figure refers to the platform fee identified for Core and does not remove charges from the payment provider. Compare the complete payment-processing schedule with Strikingly’s plan-level transaction percentage before choosing a store tier.
Should I start with a free plan and upgrade later?
That is sensible for testing layout, messaging, and workflow, provided you check the paid tier before designing around a feature that is unavailable at launch. Also confirm that your intended domain, payments, products, and scheduling setup are supported in your region.
Which choice is less risky for long-term search growth?
Wix presents the lower structural risk when you expect frequent URL changes, redirects, or advanced technical optimization. Strikingly can work well for a small, stable site whose pages and navigation are unlikely to change substantially.
