Sterlite Technologies Limited (STL) reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹2,529 crore, EBITDA of ₹846 crore and statutory profit after tax (PAT) of ₹517 crore for the quarter ended 30 September 2026. Revenue and EBITDA were the highest in the company’s history, according to management.
The ₹356 crore “normalised net profit” cited in the supplied headline cannot be verified from STL’s official Q2 FY27 results or its 23 October 2026 release. Those documents report ₹517 crore as PAT and do not define or reconcile a separate ₹356 crore adjusted measure. The quarter’s EBITDA also includes a one-time net gain of ₹161 crore from a US tariff refund, so operating performance should be assessed separately from that item.
What did STL report for Q2 FY27?
STL’s consolidated results cover the quarter ended 30 September 2026. The board approved them on 23 October 2026, and statutory auditors completed a limited review with an unmodified conclusion. The figures are unaudited.

Compared with Q2 FY26, revenue rose from ₹1,034 crore to ₹2,529 crore, while PAT increased from ₹4 crore to ₹517 crore. The percentage increase looks exceptionally large because the year-ago PAT base was only ₹4 crore; the absolute amounts provide essential context. Sequentially, Q2 revenue, EBITDA and PAT also exceeded Q1 FY27 levels.

Is STL’s ₹356 crore normalised profit confirmed?
No. STL’s official consolidated results and accompanying release consistently identify ₹517 crore as Q2 FY27 PAT. Neither document explains how a ₹356 crore “normalised” figure was calculated, what items were adjusted, or how it reconciles with statutory accounts.
That means ₹356 crore should not be presented as statutory PAT or as a verified adjusted profit. A publication retaining the figure would need STL’s exact definition and a reconciliation to the reported ₹517 crore before treating it as an established metric.
How much of the EBITDA increase came from the tariff refund?
STL said Q2 FY27 EBITDA includes a one-time net gain of ₹161 crore from a US tariff refund. Because this is non-recurring, it should be separated from the underlying earnings trend when comparing margins or forecasting future quarters.

The reported EBITDA of ₹846 crore is therefore the company’s accounting result for the quarter, but it is not equivalent to recurring operating EBITDA after removing the refund. The available materials do not provide a full management-reconciled EBITDA measure excluding that gain.
Which businesses generated the revenue?
Optical networking produced ₹2,461 crore of Q2 FY27 segment revenue, while digital and technology solutions contributed ₹86 crore. STL describes optical networking as the design and manufacture of optical fibre, cables and optical-interconnect products. Its digital and technology solutions business supports digital transformation for telecom operators and enterprises.
STL attributed the quarter’s performance to demand for AI-ready digital infrastructure, increased fibre requirements in hyperscale data centres, multi-year supply agreements with hyperscalers and telecom operators, and a growing contribution from integrated optical-connectivity solutions. These are management’s stated drivers rather than independently measured industry statistics.

How did management describe the quarter?
Managing Director Ankit Agarwal called Q2 FY27 “our best quarter yet” and said it had the highest revenue and EBITDA in STL’s history. He linked that performance to what management described as strong demand for AI-ready digital infrastructure.
