Is the brushless motor useful on a string trimmer?

There are also fewer motor brushes to wear out, although the complete tool still has bearings, a cutting head, guard and battery electronics that need care. Keep the ventilation openings and head area free of packed grass; brushless construction is not a substitute for cleaning or correct line installation.
How do the 28cm and 33cm cutting widths differ?

Keep the head moving rather than holding it against one clump. If the line slows markedly, release the trigger, let the head stop, clear the obstruction and restart at a suitable speed. Continuous operation at maximum speed is likely to consume the battery faster than the controlled low-speed condition used in STANLEY’s runtime test.
How long will the 4.0Ah battery last?
STANLEY’s “up to 74 minutes” figure was measured with an SFMCB204 4.0Ah battery, the 28cm swath, low speed and no load. Those conditions describe an unloaded spinning test, not a guaranteed amount of cutting in grass. Wet vegetation, long stems, thick weeds, a wider swath, frequent starts and stopping to clear the head all reduce useful runtime.
Plan work by area rather than by the headline number. Trim a small section at the 28cm setting and note the battery indicator before committing to a larger job. If you already own V20 tools, a second compatible battery can be more useful than trying to make one pack cover a whole property in one session. What line or spool fits this trimmer?
