Shiprocket integration connects your Indian ecommerce storefront or marketplace channels to one shipping workspace for order import, courier selection, labels, tracking, returns and non-delivery (NDR) follow-up. Use a native channel connector when its synchronization features match your operation; choose the REST API when a custom storefront, ERP or warehouse process needs control over orders, inventory, webhooks or documents.
For Shopify, the quickest route is one-click authorization from Shiprocket’s channel screen. WooCommerce requires its REST API and the official plugin or channel connection. Any route still depends on accurate product weights and dimensions, a configured pickup address, valid credentials and a controlled test of the complete fulfillment cycle before you go live.
What does Shiprocket integration do for an Indian ecommerce store?
Shiprocket is an Indian ecommerce shipping platform that centralizes fulfillment activities. Synchronization is not identical across every connector. Confirm the exact order, inventory and status behavior for your channel before promising customers real-time stock or delivery information.
Which ecommerce channels work with Shiprocket?
Shiprocket’s channel directory lists Amazon, Shopify, WooCommerce, OpenCart, Magento, Unicommerce, BigCommerce and Zoho Commerce. A native connector is generally the right starting point when your store uses one of these channels and you can operate within the connector’s supported data flows.
Channel capability should be checked separately for order import, fulfillment updates, catalog and inventory synchronization, checkout rates and estimated delivery dates. A channel can support order import without offering every other function, and an enabled connector does not by itself guarantee that inventory or shipping methods are configured correctly.

Should I use a native connector or the Shiprocket API?
Choose the native connector for a faster, lower-maintenance setup. Choose the API when you need custom order logic, an ERP or warehouse workflow, a storefront not covered by the directory, or direct control over documents and callbacks.

The API offers flexibility but transfers responsibility for authentication, field mapping, retries, error handling and monitoring to your team. A native connection is usually preferable unless a specific workflow cannot be expressed through the channel interface.
How do I integrate Shiprocket with Shopify?
The standard Shopify route uses one-click authorization from Shiprocket’s channel screen. A custom-app route is available when you need a more controlled connection and can provide the required Shopify Admin API scopes and credentials.

One-click Shopify connection
- Sign in to Shiprocket and open the channel-management screen.
- Choose Shopify and start the authorization flow.
- Approve the requested permissions in Shopify, then return to Shiprocket.
- Check that the store is marked connected and that the intended pickup address and shipping settings are present.
- Place or identify a controlled unfulfilled order and verify that it appears in Shiprocket before processing a live shipment.
The documented Shopify workflow can import unfulfilled orders, push fulfillment status and fetch catalog or inventory data. Test each of those flows with a product whose weight, dimensions and stock quantity are known.
Shopify custom-app route
Use the custom-app method when the one-click connector does not provide the permissions or data flow your operation requires. Create the Shopify app with the necessary Admin API scopes, generate credentials, and map the Shopify objects to Shiprocket’s channel or API workflow. Limit permissions to what the integration needs, record which system is authoritative for inventory, and test fulfillment callbacks before enabling automatic updates.
How do I integrate WooCommerce with Shiprocket?
WooCommerce must have its REST API enabled. Shiprocket’s channel connection or official plugin can then import orders, synchronize shipping status and catalog or inventory data, and expose courier choices, real-time rates and estimated delivery dates at checkout when all shipping settings are complete.
- In Shiprocket, add WooCommerce from the channel list.
- Enter the complete store URL exactly as the site uses it.
- Approve the requested WooCommerce access and enter the connection credentials.
- Run the connector’s credential test and resolve any REST API or permission error before importing orders.
- Configure shipping methods and confirm that every shippable product has a valid weight and dimensions.
- Check a test order in Shiprocket, select a courier, and confirm that the checkout rate and estimated delivery date shown to the customer are plausible.
- Verify that a shipment-status change returns to WooCommerce and that inventory changes are reflected as intended.
Missing shipping methods, disabled REST access or absent dimensions can prevent checkout rates or serviceability from appearing even when the connection itself reports as successful.
How do I use the Shiprocket API?
The Shiprocket API is a REST interface that exchanges JSON and uses bearer authorization. Before making application requests, create an API user in Settings → API, then generate an authentication token.
API setup sequence
- Create or select the API user under Settings → API.
- Generate the bearer token and store it in a protected server-side secret, never in browser code or a public repository.
- Map your product, customer, address, payment and order fields to the API’s required JSON structures.
- Configure a valid pickup address and ensure each parcel has accurate weight and dimensions.
- Implement the calls needed for your workflow: order creation or update, courier serviceability, shipment booking, labels, manifests, invoices, tracking, returns or exchanges.
- Add webhook handling where your process needs event-driven updates, and make handlers idempotent so a repeated callback does not create duplicate work.
- Exercise cancellation, failed serviceability, label generation, tracking and return paths with controlled data before processing live orders.
Documented API areas also cover pickup addresses and webhooks. Because valid credentials can expose or change real-time account data, isolate testing from production operations, restrict who can access tokens and define a rollback procedure for accidental bookings or updates.

What must be configured before orders can ship?
Integration credentials alone are not enough. Complete these prerequisites before evaluating a connection.
- Pickup address: Add and verify the origin address used for courier booking.
- Product data: Supply realistic weight and package dimensions for every shippable item.
- Platform API access: Enable Shopify Admin API, WooCommerce REST API or the relevant channel permissions.
- Shipping methods: Configure the storefront methods that should call rates or show delivery estimates.
- Order data: Ensure customer names, phone numbers, addresses, payment state and line items are complete and consistently formatted.
- Inventory ownership: Decide whether the store, Shiprocket or another system is authoritative when quantities conflict.
Incorrect dimensions can block courier serviceability or produce unsuitable rates. An incomplete pickup address can prevent booking even though orders import correctly.
How should I test an integration before going live?
Run a complete, controlled fulfillment cycle rather than testing only whether a channel says “connected.” Use a low-risk test order and verify the result in both systems after every step.
- Import an unfulfilled order and compare line items, customer address, payment state and parcel details.
- Request courier serviceability and confirm that the returned options match the destination and package data.
- Book a shipment and generate the label, manifest and invoice functions your operation needs.
- Change the shipment status and confirm that the store receives the expected fulfillment update.
- Send or receive a tracking event and check that the customer-facing status is not duplicated.
- Cancel a shipment where permitted, then test a return or exchange path.
- Simulate an undelivered shipment and confirm that the NDR queue is visible to the staff responsible for follow-up.
- Compare inventory before and after the test, including a product with more than one unit available.
Keep test credentials, test orders and production credentials clearly separated. Log request IDs, response bodies and timestamps so a failed booking can be diagnosed without repeating it blindly.
How does Shiprocket help with courier choice, NDR and returns?
Courier recommendation considers ratings, pricing and performance rather than presenting only one carrier. The useful choice still depends on the destination, parcel dimensions, serviceability and the delivery promise you make at checkout.
NDR tools provide a workflow for undelivered orders and returns. Assign ownership for calling customers, recording the outcome and deciding whether to reattempt delivery or initiate a return. A connector can centralize the status, but your team still needs a policy for how quickly to act and which status is final.

What scale claims should be treated as historical?
Shiprocket’s 2022 company report cited more than 29,000 Indian pin codes, 220 countries, 2.5 lakh-plus sellers, over $2.5 billion in annual gross merchandise value and more than 70 million consumers annually. These are time-bounded 2022 figures, not a current independent measurement of coverage or volume. Use the live channel and serviceability results for an actual shipment instead of treating those historical totals as a guarantee for your destination.
What are the most common integration failures?
Orders do not import
Recheck channel authorization, API permissions, order status filters and the store URL. Confirm that the order is in the connector’s supported unfulfilled state and that its address and line items are complete.
WooCommerce rates or estimated delivery dates are missing
Enable the WooCommerce REST API, verify credentials, publish the intended shipping methods and add weight and dimensions to the products in the cart. Then test a destination for which at least one courier is serviceable.
No courier is serviceable
Inspect the pickup address, destination pin code, parcel weight and dimensions. A small unit or formatting error can make a valid lane appear unavailable.
Inventory is inconsistent
Identify the system that owns stock, inspect the connector’s synchronization direction and test a quantity change on one SKU. Do not enable automatic updates across multiple systems until you know which change wins.

Tracking or fulfillment status is duplicated
Check whether both polling and webhooks are updating the same order. Store an event identifier or status transition and make your handler ignore a callback it has already processed.

Is Shiprocket integration suitable for your store?
It is a practical fit when you want one Indian shipping operation across supported channels, courier selection, tracking and NDR handling. Start with a native connector for a standard Shopify or WooCommerce store; move to the API when custom logic, an ERP, a non-listed storefront or document-level automation justifies the engineering and maintenance cost.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can one Shiprocket account serve several storefronts?
The channel directory is designed for connections to multiple selling channels, but each store still needs its own authorization, data mapping and pickup or inventory rules. Treat every connection as a separate testable integration even when the same Shiprocket account manages them.
Does Shiprocket replace my ecommerce platform’s inventory system?
Not automatically. Decide which platform owns stock, then configure and monitor synchronization so cancellations, returns and partial shipments do not create competing quantity updates.
What should I log when a Shiprocket API request fails?
Capture the endpoint or operation, timestamp, HTTP status, response body, order or shipment identifier and a non-secret request correlation value. Never write bearer tokens or customer payment details to ordinary application logs.
Can I show a delivery estimate before creating a shipment?
A checkout can show courier rates and estimated delivery dates where the channel connector supports that function and the shipment data is complete. The estimate remains conditional on serviceability, parcel details and the courier option returned for the destination.
