The UK and US figures come from different regional listings and are not a like-for-like laboratory comparison. Check the model code, plug standard, warranty terms and included tools for your country before ordering; do not assume a US listing has the same bin, cable or accessory package as the UK model.
Does it really replace an upright, stick and handheld vacuum?
It replaces the roles, not the performance level, of three machines. Upright mode is the sensible choice for whole-room carpet and hard-floor cleaning. Stick mode is easier to carry and steer around furniture, and handheld mode is useful for upholstery, stairs and quick debris, but both have less capacity and substantially less airflow or suction than upright mode.
Upright configuration
Keep the main bin and floor head attached for the closest thing to a conventional deep-cleaning vacuum. The larger UK capacity is better suited to a full-floor session, and the motor can draw continuously from the mains instead of relying on a battery charge.

Complete flour pickup on both surfaces indicates excellent fine-powder removal in that test. The near-perfect pet-fur result is also encouraging for homes with shedding animals, while the 97% Cheerios result on carpet shows that larger debris can still leave a small residue. Results should be read as comparative evidence from one review, not a promise that every rug pile or heavily soiled room will clean in one pass.

How do PowerDetect, lighting and filtration work?

What are the capacity, weight and cable differences?
Regional specifications show why you should read the exact listing rather than copy figures from another country. The UK machine is listed at 8kg with a 1.3L upright bin and 0.2L handheld bin. Vacuum Wars lists the US model at 17.1lb with a 1.04L bin and 30ft cord.

A nine-metre UK cable gives more reach than a typical short-cord upright, but it does not remove the need to move the plug between rooms. Plan the cleaning route around available sockets and keep the cable behind the cleaning path so the head cannot run over it.
How do you change between upright, stick and handheld modes?
The Transformer’s conversion is mechanical rather than an app-based setting. Start with the power switched off and the floor head stationary, then use the release points indicated on the machine to separate the sections.
- Upright cleaning: keep the main bin, upper section and floor head assembled; plug into a suitable outlet and select the normal cleaning control.
- Stick cleaning: switch off, remove the main bin assembly as directed by the machine’s release mechanism, and reconnect the remaining wand and floor head. Check that every joint clicks fully into place before powering on.
- Handheld cleaning: switch off, separate the upper section from the wand, attach the required handheld tool and confirm the bin is latched.
- Return to upright: power off, empty a full small bin if necessary, and reassemble the main bin before storing the machine.

It can, but the smaller capacity means more frequent emptying, especially after pet-hair or flour-heavy cleaning. Use upright mode for the main pass and reserve the smaller formats for targeted areas.
Are the UK and US Transformer specifications interchangeable?
