There is no single winner among Seedance 2.5, MiniMax H3, and Wan 3.0. Seedance 2.5 is the best fit on paper for longer, reference-heavy projects that need targeted revisions; MiniMax H3 suits short clips where native stereo audio, 2K output, or text and brand rendering matter; and Wan 3.0 offers the broadest documented all-in-one workflow, including documents and web pages as references. Choose by the task and the limits that matter to it—not by treating maximum resolution or duration as a universal quality score.

Which is better: Seedance 2.5, MiniMax H3, or Wan 3.0?

The better model depends on what you are making. For a continuous generation of up to 30 seconds, extensive image, video, and audio references, or timestamp-level changes, Seedance 2.5 has the most directly relevant published features. For a focused 4–15-second clip with native stereo sound and up to 2K resolution, MiniMax H3 is the more targeted option. Wan 3.0 stands out when a workflow needs multiple media types plus documents or web pages, or when you need built-in generation, editing, and extension options.

Those are specification-based recommendations, not a verdict from a neutral visual-quality test. The vendors’ published materials describe capabilities, but do not establish that one model produces the best-looking result in every scene, style, or prompt. A practical choice is therefore the model that fits your clip length, inputs, output requirements, editing needs, and budget.

What does each model actually offer?

All three are multimodal video-generation models with audio-video capabilities, but their published strengths differ. The table separates stated limits from features that are not established in the cited launch materials.

Model Published duration and output References and workflow Most distinctive stated capabilities
Seedance 2.5 Up to 30 seconds per generation. Its cited project information does not make one universal resolution claim. Up to 30 images, 10 video clips, and 10 audio clips as references; supports multiple extensions. Timestamp-level audio/video editing, reference interpretation, green-screen editing, white-model control, professional camera movement, and performance blocking.
MiniMax H3 4–15 seconds; up to 2K resolution. MiniMax describes the output as having native stereo sound. Understands text, images, video, and audio as context. A reference-count maximum is not stated in the cited launch material. Instruction following, text and brand rendering, video-to-video motion transfer, and regeneration.
Wan 3.0 Up to 30 seconds, up to 1080P, and up to 30 frames per second. Published output choices are 480P, 720P, or 1080P. Launch materials specify up to 10 images, 5 videos, and 5 audios; documentation describes up to 20 multimodal reference materials and also supports documents and web pages. Text-to-video, first-frame and first/last-frame image-to-video, reference generation, video editing, extension, and audio-video generation.

Limits in this table are vendor-published capabilities, not a promise that every interface, plan, or API exposes every option in the same way. Seedance 2.5 launched on July 31, 2026; MiniMax announced H3 on July 31, 2026; and Alibaba announced Wan 3.0 on August 24, 2026. Check the product you intend to use for current availability and limits.

Which model makes the longest clip?

Seedance 2.5 and Wan 3.0 both publish a maximum of 30 seconds per generation. MiniMax H3 publishes a shorter 4–15-second range, so it is the least suitable of the three when the entire deliverable must be generated in one long pass.

A 30-second maximum is not the same as a guarantee of a single uninterrupted camera take, a coherent story, or a finished edit. It describes the published generation duration. Seedance highlights multiple extensions, while Wan documents video extension; those features may matter if a project needs to continue beyond an initial segment. The cited materials do not establish a universal finished-project length or a quality advantage for longer generations.

For a brief requiring exactly one generation near the 30-second ceiling, both Seedance and Wan meet the stated duration requirement. Decide between them based on references, editing controls, resolution, and access—not duration alone.

Which model accepts the most reference material?

Seedance 2.5 publishes the clearest separate numerical allowances for image, video, and audio references: 30 images, 10 video clips, and 10 audio clips. Wan 3.0 adds a different kind of breadth by accepting documents and web pages, while its launch announcement and documentation describe reference capacity in different terms.

Seedance 2.5: large image, video, and audio allowances

If the source material is a collection of stills, footage, and audio clips, Seedance’s stated per-type counts are useful when planning a project. Its project page also emphasizes interpreting references and controlling aspects of the scene, which makes it a natural specification match for work that needs to carry visual or performance direction through revisions.

Wan 3.0: a wider range of input formats

Alibaba’s launch announcement lists up to 10 images, 5 videos, and 5 audios. Its documentation describes up to 20 multimodal reference materials and includes documents and web pages. These statements use different descriptions of the limit; do not assume they mean 20 items of every type or that the counts can be freely combined in every interface. Confirm the applicable input rules where you will generate.

MiniMax H3: multimodal context without a stated count

H3 understands text, images, video, and audio, but the cited launch materials do not publish a maximum reference count. If a project depends on loading a particular number of files, that missing published count is a reason to verify the platform’s current limits before building the workflow around H3.

How do the editing and control tools differ?

Seedance and Wan publish the most explicit editing workflows; H3 highlights prompt execution and specific generation behaviors. The right choice depends on whether you need to change a defined moment, reshape an existing video, or direct a shot at generation time.

Choose Seedance for targeted changes and direction

Seedance 2.5 adds timestamp-level audio/video editing, meaning its announced workflow is designed to make edits at specific points in a clip rather than treating the entire output as an undifferentiated result. ByteDance also highlights green-screen editing, white-model control, professional camera movement, and performance blocking. These are relevant when a brief specifies compositing, camera behavior, or how performers should move through a scene.

Choose Wan for a broad generation-to-editing workflow

Wan 3.0 documents text-to-video, image-to-video from a first frame or first and last frames, reference generation, video editing, and extension. Alibaba also describes visual, plot, dialogue, and reference editing. This makes Wan a strong candidate when you want to start from different kinds of material and then revise or extend video within the same model family.

Choose H3 for instruction following, rendering, and motion transfer

MiniMax emphasizes instruction following, accurate text and brand rendering, and video-to-video motion transfer. It also names regeneration as a way to continue working with a result. If a short clip depends on a visible label or a source clip’s motion, those stated priorities may be more pertinent than a longer maximum generation time.

Feature names do not show how well a model will handle a particular shot. For high-stakes text, a precisely timed action, or a difficult edit, test a representative segment and inspect the result before committing the full project.

Which one has the best audio?

All three vendors describe native or integrated audio-video generation. MiniMax is the one that explicitly specifies native stereo sound; Alibaba specifically lists dialogue, background music, and sound effects for Wan 3.0. Seedance supports audio references and timestamp-level audio/video editing, but the cited project information does not establish a directly comparable audio specification.

That means there is no supported universal audio-quality ranking here. If stereo output is a requirement, H3 has the clearest published claim. If you need an expressly described combination of dialogue, music, and effects, Wan’s stated categories are useful. If you are bringing in audio references or making time-specific audio/video changes, Seedance’s published controls may be the more relevant fit. The sources do not provide a controlled comparison of intelligibility, mixing, synchronization, or sound quality.

How much do the models cost per second?

MiniMax and Alibaba publish per-second rates; the cited Seedance announcement does not provide one universal price. The figures below are vendor-published rates from 2026. The material does not specify a region or establish that the rates are unchanged today, so check the current rate card for the access product you plan to use.

Model and published output tier Published generation rate Illustrative base charge for a 15-second output
MiniMax H3, 768P $0.08 per second $1.20
MiniMax H3, 2K $0.13 per second $1.95
Wan 3.0, 480P 0.3 yuan per second 4.5 yuan
Wan 3.0, 720P 0.6 yuan per second 9 yuan
Wan 3.0, 1080P 1.2 yuan per second 18 yuan
Seedance 2.5 Not stated in the cited launch announcement; check the selected access product. Not calculable from the cited information.

The 15-second amounts are arithmetic examples at the listed per-second generation rates, not separate quoted plans. MiniMax says input-video billing can also apply by duration and resolution, so the table does not estimate the cost of supplying video references. It also excludes any charges or allowances not specified in the cited rates. Wan’s published price varies by output resolution, making a 1080P generation four times the stated 480P per-second rate.

For Seedance, ByteDance names Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro as rollout channels and says API access is coming via BytePlus ModelArk, but the announcement does not attach a universal rate card to those routes. Check pricing in the specific product rather than assuming that a rate from another access channel applies.

Can Wan 3.0 or Seedance turn documents into video?

Wan 3.0’s documentation explicitly includes documents and web pages among its multimodal reference inputs. The cited Seedance 2.5 materials list image, video, and audio references, but do not state that it accepts documents or web pages as references. If a project must turn source material from a document or a web page into a video, Wan is the only one of these three with that input type explicitly documented.

That distinction is about supported reference formats, not a guarantee that a model will automatically produce a faithful explainer from any document or page. For an important result, prepare the source material clearly, check which files or page content the actual interface accepts, and review the generated output against the original. Do not infer support for a particular document format from the general statement that documents are accepted.

Where can you access each model?

Access depends on the model and the product, and announced availability can change. ByteDance names Jimeng AI and Doubao Pro for Seedance 2.5 rollout, with API access via BytePlus ModelArk described as coming. MiniMax names Hailuo AI, its own platform, and open-source repositories for H3. Wan 3.0 is available through Alibaba Cloud Model Studio.

MiniMax’s open-source announcement lists 4–15-second outputs, broad aspect-ratio support, and a community license. Treat that as a licensing and implementation consideration: an open-source label does not, by itself, answer whether a particular commercial deployment is permitted or what compute and integration work it requires. Read the applicable license terms and repository documentation before deploying the model.

Runway’s developer index lists model IDs for all three, making a hosted comparison workflow possible. That can be useful if you want to test models through one developer-facing route, but it does not establish that the same settings, prices, or feature set are available there as in each vendor’s native product.

How should you choose for a real project?

Start with the requirement that would disqualify a model, then compare the remaining options. This avoids choosing by a single headline number that may not affect the finished deliverable.

  1. Set the clip-length requirement. If one generation needs to run longer than H3’s published 15-second ceiling, focus on Seedance 2.5 or Wan 3.0, both of which publish up to 30 seconds. If the intended clip is short, H3 remains in contention.
  2. List the source materials. For large sets of image, video, and audio references, Seedance publishes separate counts. For documents or web pages, Wan has the explicitly documented advantage. If you need a precise H3 reference count, verify it in the platform first.
  3. Decide what must be controlled or edited. Timestamp-level edits, green-screen work, camera direction, and performance blocking point toward Seedance’s stated controls. A workflow built around first/last frames, editing, and extension aligns with Wan’s documented functions. Motion transfer or text and brand rendering aligns with H3’s stated priorities.
  4. Specify resolution and sound requirements. H3 publishes up to 2K and explicitly says native stereo sound. Wan publishes 480P, 720P, or 1080P outputs at up to 30 fps and describes dialogue, music, and effects. Seedance’s cited project information does not state one universal resolution limit.
  5. Estimate cost using the actual route. Use the rate for the model, resolution, and access product you will use. Include input-video billing where applicable, and verify current prices rather than treating 2026 figures as guaranteed current rates.
  6. Test a representative shot. Use a prompt and reference material similar to the final project, then check whether the result meets the brief. A capability list can narrow the choice, but it cannot replace a scene-specific evaluation.

In short: Seedance 2.5 is the strongest specification match for long, revision-oriented storytelling with many visual and audio references; MiniMax H3 is the focused choice for short clips where stereo sound, 2K, or text and motion-transfer features are central; and Wan 3.0 is the broadest documented option for mixed input formats and an all-in-one generation and editing workflow. None is proven to win every visual-quality contest.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does MiniMax H3’s community license mean I can use it commercially?

Not automatically. The announcement identifies a community license, but the precise permissions and conditions depend on the applicable license text; review it before using H3 in a commercial deployment.

Is a 30-second generation guaranteed to be one uninterrupted shot?

No such guarantee is established by the published duration limit. A maximum generation length says how long an output may be, not whether it contains cuts, multiple scenes, or continuous action.
