Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA: At First Glance

In recent years, Samsung’s QLED TVs have been renowned for bright, vivid, and clear displays. However, admittedly, Samsung’s QLED TVs are quite expensive just like the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA.

The Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA had a price tag of $1,202.33 as of the time I published this review in November 2021. Moreover, much will be expected from a television sold at such an expensive price.

Thankfully, the TV doesn’t disappoint as it offers excellent performance and overall brilliant picture quality. However, this television suffers from a few drawbacks.

Do you want to know more about the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA and its drawbacks? Then, you will have to read the rest of this article.

Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA: Design, Dimension, and Weight

As soon as you set your eyes on the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA, the strengths of Samsung’s design concept shines. Specifically, this television has an excellent minimalist design.

Furthermore, the television features some thin bezels that surround its display. These bezels are composed of plastic and feature a matte finish.

In fact, all of the television’s body is made of plastic.

Moving on, turning the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA to the back, you will be greeted by a plastic panel, as expected. Moreover, Samsung’s popular ribbon texture adorns this plastic back panel, giving the television a more stylish look.

The Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA comes with a pair of glossy-black plastic V-shaped legs. These legs are wide-set and they support the television well.

Additionally, the television features a basic cable management, using two clips attached to the back of the legs. On the downside, the television’s legs are placed very near to the television’s edges.

Therefore, if you aren’t wall-mounting the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA, you will need a very large table to place it. Speaking of wall-mounting, due to the television’s minimalist and slim design, it won’t stick out too much if wall-mounted.

Having talked about how minimalist the television is, I guess it is ideal to talk about its dimension and weight. Specifically, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA has a dimension of 1684 x 60.9 x 965.2 mm.

However, this television is very heavy, weighing a massive 38918.2 g. Comparatively, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA is a little bit heavier than the Sony XBR – 75X850F.

Specifically, the Sony XBR – 75X850F weighs 38900 g. However, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA is a lot heavier than the TCL 75S425.

The TCL 75S425 weighs 33520.4 g.

In conclusion, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA boasts a minimalist and sleek design. However, the television’s weight is a huge drawback.

Thus, I will rate the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA an eight out of ten in this design review section.

Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA: Display Features

For display, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA employs a 75-inch LED display. However, this LED display isn’t like the typical LED display.

Samsung used a QLED display for QN75Q60RAFXZA.

The term QLED stands for quantum dot light-emitting diode or according to Samsung “quantum dot LED”. Furthermore, any TV display with the QLED label looks and functions similarly to a standard LED display.

The major difference is that a quantum dot layer is incorporated into a QLED display. This layer is essential because it improves the colors and brightness of images that you see on the display.

That said, the screen resolution of the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA’s QLED display is 4K UHD (3840 x 2160). As a 4K resolution display, the QLED display should be able to deliver crisp and clear picture quality.

Moving on, the television’s display comes with an impressive contrast ratio. To be more precise, the display has a 6,292:1 contrast ratio.

What do I mean by contrast ratio though? The contrast ratio of a display is the ratio between the display’s brightest shade (white) and darkest shade (black).

Furthermore, a high contrast ratio such as the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA’s display’s 6,292:1 is preferable in most displays. This is because a high contrast ratio means the display can produce deep blacks, which improves its overall picture quality.

Therefore, as a display with high contrast ratio, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA’s display can produce deep, inky blacks. This makes the television ideal for dark room viewing as well as viewing movies with lots of shadowy scenes.

Unfortunately, the television’s display doesn’t support local dimming which would have further deepened its blacks. However, that is not a major issue since the display already has an impressively high contrast ratio.

On the contrary, the television’s display supports HDR (High Dynamic Range) in Samsung’s Quantum HDR 4X format. HDR is a technique that allows a display to render clear color details in bright or shadowy/dark scenes.

Moving on, this display is actually bright but not exceptionally bright. Specifically, the display has a peak brightness of 411 cd/m².

Therefore, you should be able to use the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA in a moderately-lit room. However, the TV may not deliver well in a well-lit room.

When considering a TV’s display, another important factor is the viewing angle. Unfortunately, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA’s display has poor viewing angles.

This is quite disappointing for such expensive television. Therefore, images will appear washed out when viewing the television from the side.

As a result, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA isn’t ideal for a large room setting.

On a positive note, its display handles reflection pretty decently. The display’s semi-gloss coating diffuses sunlight or reflection on the display.

However, the semi-gloss coating may struggle to diffuse reflection in well-lit areas. Therefore, it is best to avoid setting the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA in front of direct sunlight or bright lighting.

Moving on, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA’s display has an excellently fast response time of 10.4 milliseconds. A display’s response time is the time it takes the display to shift from one color to another.

As a result of the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA’s display’s fast response time, there will be minimal blur when viewing fast-motion content. Fast motion content includes sport, video games, and action movies.

That said, thanks to its display low input lag, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA is an ideal television for gamers. Specifically, the television’s display has a low input lag of 14.7 milliseconds.

If you’re wondering, input lag is the time it takes for a display to register a signal input. Moreover, a low input lag is particularly important when playing reaction-based video games.

However, the display’s low input lag isn’t the only reason why the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA is good for gaming. This TV’s display also comes with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

A display’s refresh rate is the number of times per second that the display can refresh/draw a new image. Additionally, the refresh rate is measured in Hertz (Hz).

For example, Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA’s display’s 120 Hz refresh rate means it refreshes image 120 times per second.

In conclusion, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA’s display delivers adequate performance for viewing your favorite TV shows and movies. Additionally, gamers will appreciate the TV thanks to its display’s low input lag, and refresh rate.

However, the television’s display has mediocre viewing angles. Notwithstanding, I believe the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA deserves a nine out of ten rating in this display review section.

Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA: Sound Features

Though the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA’s picture quality is excellent, its audio quality isn’t particularly great. To be more specific, this television features a pair of 20 W speakers that delivers not-so-great sound/audio quality.

Furthermore, the television’s speakers lack bass and they don’t get very loud. Therefore, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA may not be well-suited for a large room or busy environment.

On a positive note, the AI-controlled Intelligent Audio feature that comes with the television helps elevate the speakers’ performance. Also, this audio feature allows the speakers to deliver clear dialogue.

However, I wouldn’t consider the dialogue the speakers produce “cinematic”, but they are adequate and audible.

What does dialogue mean though? Dialogue is the conversation between two or more characters in a movie or TV show.

Moving on, the distortion performance of the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA’s speakers is very disappointing. Specifically, there’s some sound distortion even when the television is at moderate volumes.

Additionally, at high volume, the sound distortion increases and becomes unbearable.

In conclusion, the audio quality of this television isn’t so great. Therefore, I recommend getting a soundbar if you want to get the best audio experience.

All things considered, I will rate the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA a seven out of ten in this sound review section.

Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA: Ports and Connectivity Features

Samsung outfitted the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA with a decent selection of ports. These ports can be found on the back of the TV.

Among the ports, you’ll find two USB ports, four HDMI ports, and an Ethernet port. Also, you will find an RF connector for attaching an antenna.

It is worth stating that one of the television’s four HDMI ports supports ARC (Audio Return Channel). Therefore, you will be able to use that particular HDMI port to connect a soundbar.

Sadly, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA doesn’t have Bluetooth. However, it features an in-built Wi-Fi Direct for wireless internet connectivity.

That said, now let discuss the television’s remote control. The Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA uses the same remote as most high-end Samsung TVs.

The remote has a small design, matte-black finish, but lacks a number pad. However, the remote has an in-built microphone for voice control via Samsung’s Bixby.

Furthermore, the remote features a circular navigation button in the middle as well as a “Samsung” logo on the bottom. In addition to that, the remote features dedicated buttons for quick access to Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu.

In conclusion, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA features a decent amount of ports as well as a Voice remote. However, it is so sad that the television lack Bluetooth.

Therefore, I will rate the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA an eight in this ports and connectivity review section.

Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA: Smart Features

The one area where this TVA unquestionably matches other more-premium QLED Samsung televisions is in its smart TV features. This is because they all run the same Samsung’s Tizen TV OS.

This Tizen OS offers a smooth, lag-free, user-friendly interface. However, there are ads and suggested content on the home page, and they can’t be disabled.

On a positive note, thanks to the Tizen OS, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA has access to major streaming services and apps. Major streaming services you will find include YouTube, Netflix, HULU, Amazon Prime Video, and so on.

Interestingly, the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA’s OS has access to the Apple TV app, which is uncommon on most smart TV OS. Therefore, you will be able to enjoy all of Apple iTunes’ exclusive movies.

Also, you will get to stream Apple’s upcoming original Apple TV+ shows, without purchasing a separate Apple TV box.

Furthermore, Samsung equipped the QN75Q60RAFXZA with an in-built microphone for voice control features via Bixby. Samsung’s Bixby is also a voice assistant just like Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant.

However, that doesn’t mean the television doesn’t support Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa. Therefore, with the help of a Google Home speaker or Amazon Echo speaker, you can use Google Assistant or Alexa

In conclusion, Samsung did a good job with its Tizen smart TV operating system. Moreover, this OS is just as good as other popular smart TV OS like ROKU TV and Android TV.

Therefore, I will rate the Samsung QN75Q60RAFXZA a nine in this smart features review section.
