If the cover is present but pressing it does not reliably trigger the phone, the internal cable and switch are one possible cause—not a guaranteed fix. Another fault may be responsible, so have the problem diagnosed before ordering. Confirm the exact model and regional variant with the seller; the cited listing does not establish compatibility across every variant.
What does replacing the internal cable involve?
This is not a quick swap from the outside. iFixit’s Galaxy S6 power-button replacement guide describes a teardown that starts by removing the SIM tray and heating the rear glass so its adhesive can be cut and the glass lifted. The procedure then removes thirteen midframe screws and lifts the midframe before the button assembly and cable can be accessed.

The guide warns that pulling too hard can tear the cable and cautions against lifting the assembly by its bracket. It also describes cleaning away old adhesive and fitting replacement adhesive or rear glass with adhesive during reassembly. That makes glass and adhesive work part of the practical repair, in addition to the switch cable itself.
Although the guide documents a DIY method, it does not establish that every repair will damage the glass or succeed. If you have not opened an adhered phone before, compare a professional quote with replacing the handset before attempting the teardown.

How to compare a repair quote with replacing the phone
There is no Galaxy S6-specific power-button price in the cited Samsung support information. Samsung US says repair cost varies according to diagnosis, warranty status, and repair type. Request a current written quote rather than treating the cable’s parts price as the cost of a completed repair.
- Ask for the diagnosis. Find out whether the proposed fix is the outside cover, internal switch-and-cable assembly, or another fault.
- Get the full repair total. Ask whether the quote includes diagnosis, labor, parts, and any rear-glass or adhesive work. Samsung’s repair request and status page explains that costs depend on diagnosis, warranty, and repair type; it does not provide a Galaxy S6 button-repair price.
- Assess the whole handset. Consider the screen, battery, charging, storage, and any other faults. A button repair is less compelling if several other problems also need attention.
- Check whether it will meet your needs. Verify software and security support for your specific phone and region, as well as compatibility with the apps you rely on. Current Galaxy S6 support status is not established by the cited information.
- Compare with a suitable replacement. Compare the complete repair total with the cost of a replacement phone that meets your needs, taking its expected useful life into account.
