Choose the Samsung Galaxy S24 5G if you want a compact, lighter phone with a dedicated 3x optical-zoom camera, wireless charging and Samsung’s broader device ecosystem. Choose the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion if your priorities are a much larger 144Hz screen, a 7000mAh battery, 68W wired charging and a far lower purchase price. They are not direct winners on every specification: the S24 emphasizes size, camera versatility and premium features, while the Edge 70 Fusion emphasizes endurance, display scale and value.
At prices reported in late September 2026, the Samsung costs roughly ₹31,000–₹35,000 more in India, depending on seller and configuration. The comparison below separates verified specifications from vendor estimates and explains which trade-offs matter in daily use.
Samsung Galaxy S24 5G vs Motorola Edge 70 Fusion: what is the short verdict?
The Galaxy S24 5G is the better fit for buyers who value one-hand usability, a lighter handset, native optical zoom and Samsung’s premium software ecosystem. The Edge 70 Fusion is the stronger value choice for buyers who want a large, smooth display, very high battery capacity and fast wired charging without spending flagship-level money.
| Priority | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Compact size and lower weight | Galaxy S24 5G | 6.2-inch display and approximately 167g listed weight |
| Large, high-refresh viewing area | Edge 70 Fusion | 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED panel with up to 144Hz refresh |
| Optical zoom photography | Galaxy S24 5G | Dedicated 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom |
| Battery capacity and wired charging | Edge 70 Fusion | 7000mAh battery and 68W TurboPower charging |
| Lowest upfront price | Edge 70 Fusion | Observed prices were about half the Galaxy S24’s price |
| Wireless charging | Galaxy S24 5G | Wireless charging is listed for the compared S24 configuration |
Neither phone is universally “better.” The right choice depends on whether you will notice a compact body and telephoto camera every day, or whether a large display and long unplugged runtime matter more.

How do the Galaxy S24 and Edge 70 Fusion displays and designs differ?
The Galaxy S24 is easier to handle and carry, while the Edge 70 Fusion gives you a substantially larger and faster canvas for video, gaming and multitasking.
Galaxy S24 5G display and ergonomics
Samsung’s compared specification lists a 6.2-inch display with 1080 × 2340 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone is listed at about 167g, making it the more comfortable option for pockets, commuting and prolonged one-handed use. A smaller panel also makes it easier to reach controls without shifting your grip.
Edge 70 Fusion display and build
Motorola’s India specification lists a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display at 2772 × 1272 resolution, up to 144Hz refresh, HDR10+, 10-bit colour and a stated peak brightness of 5200 nits. The 144Hz mode can make supported games and scrolling look smoother than the S24’s 120Hz mode, although actual refresh behaviour depends on the app, power mode and adaptive display settings.
The Edge 70 Fusion is listed at 193g. That is still moderate for a large-screen phone, but it is roughly 26g heavier than the compared Galaxy S24. Motorola also lists IP69/IP68 protection for the India model. Those ratings indicate substantially stronger dust and water resistance than a phone with no published ingress rating, but they do not make deliberate underwater use or exposure to high-pressure water risk-free.
Which screen is better for games and films?
The Edge 70 Fusion has the advantage in physical size, refresh ceiling and listed peak brightness. Its 6.8-inch panel gives films, split-screen apps and games more room, and 10-bit colour with HDR10+ can improve supported content. The Galaxy S24 is preferable when display quality must be balanced against pocketability; its 6.2-inch 120Hz screen is still high-refresh, but it cannot provide the same viewing area.
Which phone is faster, and why does the Galaxy S24 chipset vary by region?
Do not compare a Galaxy S24 benchmark result without checking the exact regional model. The compared international listing uses Samsung’s Exynos 2400, while Snapdragon variants are sold in some regions. Motorola’s India specification identifies the Edge 70 Fusion with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4.

Galaxy S24 regional SKU issue
Smartprix lists the compared Galaxy S24 5G with Android v14, an Exynos 2400 processor and 256GB storage. Samsung also sells regional Snapdragon versions, so processor performance, modem behaviour and sometimes battery results can differ from the Exynos listing. Check the model number and chipset on the seller’s page before using a review or benchmark as a buying guide.

Motorola’s India specification identifies Android 16 and Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage in the cited specification. Motorola’s own India listings also show several combinations, including 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB. Confirm the exact combination at checkout because storage and memory can vary by colour, seller and promotion.
What performance should buyers expect?
The S24’s processor is positioned in a higher performance class than the Edge 70 Fusion’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, but the available evidence does not provide a single controlled benchmark comparison across the regional models. For demanding 3D games, heavy photo processing and long-term performance headroom, the Galaxy’s higher-tier platform is the safer choice. For everyday messaging, streaming, navigation, photography and ordinary multitasking, the Edge 70 Fusion’s listed memory options should be adequate for most users.
Which phone has the better camera system?
The Galaxy S24 wins on camera versatility because it includes a dedicated telephoto lens. The Edge 70 Fusion concentrates on its stabilized main camera and a higher-resolution selfie camera, but its official specification does not list a telephoto module.
Galaxy S24 camera hardware
The compared Galaxy S24 configuration uses a 50MP wide camera, a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide camera. Optical zoom uses the dedicated lens rather than enlarging a crop from the main sensor, so distant subjects such as people on a stage, signs and architectural details retain more natural detail at 3x.

Motorola lists a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main sensor with optical image stabilisation and a 13MP ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view. The front camera is listed at 32MP. No dedicated telephoto camera appears in the official Edge 70 Fusion specification, so longer-range framing relies on digital cropping from the main camera.
Rank #3
- Width: 2.78 inches; Length: 5.79 inches; Height: 0.30 inches
How the camera trade-off affects real use
- Choose the Galaxy S24 for portraits and travel scenes where 3x optical zoom is important, or if you regularly switch between wide, ultrawide and telephoto perspectives.
- Choose the Edge 70 Fusion if most of your photos are taken with the main camera, you value optical stabilisation for handheld shots, and a high-resolution selfie camera matters more than native zoom.
- For ultrawide photos, Motorola lists the higher 13MP resolution and a 120-degree view, while Samsung lists a 12MP ultrawide. Resolution alone does not establish which produces better images; lens quality, processing and lighting also affect results.
The specifications establish the hardware advantage in zoom, not a universal image-quality winner. Camera processing can change with software updates and scene conditions, so treat the lens layout as the clearest differentiator.
Which phone has better battery life and charging?
The Edge 70 Fusion has a decisive capacity and wired-charging advantage on paper: 7000mAh and 68W TurboPower versus the Galaxy S24’s listed 4000mAh battery and 25W wired charging.
| Battery detail | Galaxy S24 5G | Motorola Edge 70 Fusion |
|---|---|---|
| Listed capacity | 4000mAh | 7000mAh |
| Wired charging | 25W | 68W TurboPower |
| Wireless charging | Listed by Smartprix for the compared configuration | Not stated in the cited Motorola specification |
| Advertised endurance | Not stated in the cited comparison data | “Up to 52 hours,” a Motorola vendor estimate |
Motorola’s “up to 52 hours of battery life” is an advertised estimate, not an independently controlled laboratory result and not directly comparable with a missing Samsung figure. Actual runtime depends on brightness, mobile-network signal, refresh settings, games, camera use and background applications.
Who benefits from the larger battery?
The Edge 70 Fusion is the more logical choice for long commutes, travel, navigation, hotspot use and gaming away from a socket. Its 68W charger can also restore energy faster when you have a short charging window, assuming the compatible charger and cable are available. The Galaxy S24’s smaller battery helps keep the phone compact, and its listed wireless charging can be more convenient on a desk or charging stand.
What is the price difference in India?
Prices vary by seller, storage option and promotion. Smartprix reported lowest prices of ₹60,899 for the Galaxy S24 5G and ₹27,430 for the Edge 70 Fusion, with the comparison updated September 28, 2026. MySmartPrice displayed Amazon-linked prices of ₹62,500 and ₹29,749 respectively.
| Source and date | Galaxy S24 5G | Edge 70 Fusion | Observed difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Smartprix, updated September 28, 2026; lowest reported prices | ₹60,899 | ₹27,430 | ₹33,469 |
| MySmartPrice; Amazon-linked prices shown in the cited comparison | ₹62,500 | ₹29,749 | ₹32,751 |
Using those two snapshots, the Galaxy S24 costs approximately ₹32,751–₹33,469 more. Motorola’s own India store listings show Edge 70 Fusion offers at ₹30,999 and ₹34,999 for cited configurations, so the exact gap can be closer to roughly ₹26,000–₹35,000 when an official-store variant is compared with the S24 listing. These are dated observations, not guaranteed current prices; verify the seller, storage, bank offer, exchange value and return policy before paying.

What does the extra Galaxy S24 money buy?
The premium pays for a smaller flagship-class design, the dedicated 3x telephoto camera, wireless charging in the compared configuration and access to Samsung’s ecosystem. It does not buy a larger battery or faster wired charging: Motorola is stronger on both of those specifications.

What does the lower Edge 70 Fusion price deliver?
The Edge 70 Fusion puts more of the budget into screen size, refresh rate, battery capacity, charging speed and multiple RAM/storage choices. If you do not need optical zoom or a compact body, the price difference can fund accessories, a replacement battery reserve or a larger-storage configuration.
Which RAM and storage option should you choose?
Choose storage based on how long you keep phones and how much video, offline media and game data you store locally. Motorola’s cited listings include 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB combinations; the compared Galaxy S24 listing uses 256GB.
- 128GB Edge 70 Fusion: suitable for lighter users who stream most media and regularly back up photos.
- 256GB: the safer general-purpose choice for several years of photos, apps and games.
- 12GB RAM: useful if you keep many apps open, edit media or want more multitasking headroom, but it does not automatically make every app faster.
- 512GB Edge 70 Fusion: makes sense for frequent 4K video recording, large game libraries or avoiding cloud storage.
Because the Galaxy S24 configuration cited here is 256GB, compare it with an Edge 70 Fusion of the same capacity when calculating value. A lower headline price for a 128GB model is not an apples-to-apples comparison if you would immediately need more storage.

Pick the Galaxy S24 for portability
The 6.2-inch screen and approximately 167g listed weight make the S24 the more practical choice for small hands, narrow pockets and frequent one-handed use. Its telephoto camera also reduces the need to move physically closer to subjects. Wireless charging can simplify desk or bedside charging if you already use a compatible pad.

Pick the Edge 70 Fusion for media and endurance
The 6.8-inch display is better for reading documents, watching films, split-screen work and games where touch controls benefit from more space. The 7000mAh battery and 68W charging are particularly valuable when charging opportunities are unpredictable.
Best Value
- 6.7″ Dynamic AMOLED 2X, QHD+ display with 1–120 Hz adaptive refresh and a peak brightness of ~2,600 nits — giving a noticeably sharper, brighter screen than the base S24.
Consider durability and handling
Motorola lists IP69/IP68 protection for the India Edge 70 Fusion specification. The cited Galaxy S24 comparison does not provide a corresponding durability figure in the available data, so do not assume the two phones have identical ingress protection. Whichever model you buy, use a case and avoid treating an IP rating as permanent immunity: seals can age, and liquid damage may not be covered by warranty.
How should you choose between the Galaxy S24 and Edge 70 Fusion?
- Set your size limit. If a phone above 6.5 inches feels awkward, choose the Galaxy S24 before considering other specifications.
- Decide whether optical zoom is essential. Choose Samsung if 3x native zoom is a frequent use case; choose Motorola if you mostly shoot at standard or ultrawide perspectives.
- Estimate your unplugged day. Heavy travel, hotspot use and gaming favour the Edge 70 Fusion’s 7000mAh battery.
- Check your charging habits. Motorola’s 68W wired charging favours quick top-ups; Samsung’s listed wireless charging favours drop-and-charge convenience.
- Match storage before comparing prices. Compare 256GB with 256GB, or account for the cost of moving to a larger Edge 70 Fusion variant.
- Verify the exact regional Galaxy S24 model. The cited international listing uses Exynos 2400, while Snapdragon variants exist in some markets.
- Recheck the live offer. Prices in this comparison are dated snapshots and can change with promotions, exchange bonuses and seller inventory.
Who should buy the Samsung Galaxy S24 5G?
Buy the Galaxy S24 5G if your shortlist is driven by a compact flagship form factor, lower weight, Samsung ecosystem integration, wireless charging and a versatile camera system with 3x optical zoom. It is also the more defensible choice when you want higher-tier processor headroom and are willing to pay a substantial premium for those features.
Who should buy the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion?
Buy the Edge 70 Fusion if you want the biggest screen, a 144Hz display mode, a 7000mAh battery, 68W charging and a lower upfront price. It is especially compelling for media consumption, gaming sessions, travel and buyers who would rather spend the savings on higher storage than on a compact flagship design.

Do both phones support 5G networks in India?
The comparison title identifies both as 5G phones, but network-band compatibility is region- and model-specific. Check the exact model number and your carrier’s supported bands before importing either device or buying a non-India variant.
Do the retail boxes include a compatible fast charger?
The cited specifications establish charging rates but do not state what accessories are included in every retail package. Confirm the box contents for the exact seller and region; the phone may support a charging speed without including a charger capable of reaching it.
Which phone is the better long-term storage choice?
A 256GB model is the safer middle ground for users who keep phones for several years, while 512GB is preferable for extensive video and game libraries. Select the capacity at purchase because the cited comparison does not establish expandable-storage support.
Can I compare Galaxy S24 benchmark scores from any country?
No. Galaxy S24 units can use different chipsets by region, including the Exynos 2400 listing cited here and Snapdragon variants elsewhere. Compare benchmarks only when the processor, RAM, software version and test conditions match your intended model.
