It uses 2.4 mm nylon line in a two-line bump-feed head. A thicker line can be useful for tougher grass than the fine line used by lightweight trimmers, but it also consumes more material and places more demand on the motor and head. Buy line identified as suitable for a two-line bump-feed head and the RLT36BL’s 2.4 mm specification; diameter alone does not guarantee that a pre-cut or wound product fits the head.

RAC1214 is the replacement-head part number named in the instruction document. The head is arborless, and TTI/RYOBI advertises an “Arborless – 60 second reload” design. That is a reload-time claim from the manufacturer, not a measured time that applies to every user.
An arborless head is intended to simplify reloading by avoiding the conventional spool-and-arbor arrangement. Keep the old head or photograph its mounting arrangement before ordering a replacement, and match the RAC1214 part number to your regional manual. A visually similar head is not automatically compatible.
How does the two-speed brushless drive work in use?

- Inspect the head and confirm that 2.4 mm line is loaded in both outlets.
- Insert a charged compatible 36V battery only after the head area is clear and the trigger is released.

- Release the trigger, remove the battery and clear wrapped grass or line fragments before any head adjustment.

How heavy is the RLT36BL with a battery?
