You can record Minecraft on an iPhone or iPad with Apple’s built-in Screen Recording control—no separate recorder is needed for a basic gameplay clip. Open Minecraft, start Screen Recording from Control Center, and play; turn on the control’s microphone first if you want voice commentary. The finished clip is saved in Photos.
What do you need to record Minecraft on iPhone or iPad?
For a basic local recording, you need Minecraft and the built-in Screen Recording control in Control Center. Apple’s current iPhone and iPad screen-recording guides describe the same basic workflow: start the control, wait through its three-second countdown, record, then stop and find the clip in Photos.

How do you record Minecraft gameplay?
Start the recording after you have opened Minecraft and prepared the world or scene you want to capture. The steps below use Apple’s built-in controls.

- Prepare the game. Open Minecraft and move to the scene where you want the clip to begin.
- Open Control Center. Swipe down from the top-right corner of the iPhone or iPad screen.
- Start Screen Recording. Tap the Screen Recording control. Wait for the three-second countdown to finish.
- Return to Minecraft and play. Capture the gameplay you want in the clip.
- Stop the capture. Tap the red recording control and choose Stop.
- Find the video. Open Photos and look under Screen Recordings.
The clip is saved automatically when you stop recording; you do not need to save it separately from the recording control.
How do you record Minecraft with your voice?
Turn on the microphone from the Screen Recording control before you begin. If you start recording with the microphone off, the clip will not include microphone commentary.

- Touch and hold the Screen Recording control in Control Center.
- Tap Microphone to turn it on.
- Tap Start Recording and wait for the three-second countdown.
- Return to Minecraft and speak while you play.
- Stop the recording with the red recording control, then check the saved clip in Photos.
These settings affect microphone commentary, not just whether you have a microphone connected. If you plan to use a compatible USB-C microphone, connect it before recording and check the resulting clip for clear voice audio.
What changes when the microphone is on?

Apple’s guidance supports capturing microphone audio with gameplay, but it does not guarantee that every app will provide every audio source in every recording. Play a short test and listen to it in Photos if you need to confirm the result.

Why might Minecraft audio or your voice be missing?
First check whether the microphone was enabled before recording, then inspect the saved clip in Photos. Apple warns that some apps might not allow their content to be recorded, so capture and audio availability can depend on the app.
- Your voice is absent: Touch and hold Screen Recording in Control Center and confirm Microphone is on before starting the next recording.
- Minecraft audio is absent: Check the saved clip in Photos. Apple’s app-content restriction means a recording is not guaranteed to include every app’s content.
- Capture does not work while mirroring: Apple says you cannot record your screen and use screen mirroring at the same time. Stop mirroring before attempting a screen recording.
If a problem persists, make a brief test clip after changing one setting at a time. That makes it easier to tell whether the issue is microphone selection, app capture restrictions, or screen mirroring.

Is the built-in recorder enough, or do you need other capture tools?
For a local Minecraft clip, the built-in recorder is the simplest starting point. Additional creator features depend on app support: Apple’s ReplayKit overview describes gameplay recording, microphone audio, front-facing camera video for commentary, direct sharing from an app, and live streaming for compatible iOS games.
Those ReplayKit capabilities are not a guarantee that a particular Minecraft version exposes every feature. The core Screen Recording steps above capture a local clip; camera overlays, direct in-app sharing, and live streaming require compatible app support.

Can I record Minecraft while screen mirroring to a TV?
No. Apple says screen recording and screen mirroring cannot be used at the same time. End mirroring before starting a capture.
Can I show my face while recording Minecraft on iPhone or iPad?
Apple describes front-facing-camera commentary as a ReplayKit capability, but that does not establish that Minecraft offers a camera overlay in its iOS app. Check whether the app itself provides that option before relying on it.
Can I live-stream Minecraft directly from an iPhone or iPad?
