H2 Interactive has announced a worldwide November 5, 2026 release for Re-Volt on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. A boxed Nintendo Switch version, officially called Re-Volt H2 Edition Nintendo Switch, is already marked PRE-ORDER on the H2 Edition store. The updated releases retain the 1999 radio-controlled-car racing game while adding in-game help, a minimap, an expanded three-item inventory and local split-screen for up to four players.
When is Re-Volt coming to Nintendo Switch and PS5?
The announced worldwide launch date is November 5, 2026, for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. H2 Interactive describes these as improved versions of the original game rather than a newly designed sequel. Release timing, stock and final product specifications remain subject to change, so buyers should confirm the live store listing before paying.
Is this the original 1999 Re-Volt or a remake?
This release is based on the 1999 Re-Volt, whose defining idea is miniature radio-controlled cars racing through oversized everyday environments. It is not presented as a completely new franchise entry. The game still centers on nimble RC handling, drifting, suspension-powered jumps, weapons and pick-ups, with tracks inspired by places such as supermarkets, toy stores, ghost towns and museums.

What is new in the Switch and PS5 versions?
H2 Interactive lists three practical changes that affect play:
- In-game help: guidance is built into the game for players who need assistance learning its tracks and controls.
- Minimap: a navigation view helps show the course layout, which is particularly useful on unfamiliar circuits.
- Three carried items: players can hold three pick-ups instead of the original one-item limit, creating more room for tactical choices.
- Four-player local split-screen: up to four people can play on one system in local multiplayer.
The pick-ups remain part of the racing strategy. Official descriptions cite attacks and boosts such as rockets, oil slicks and battery boosts, so winning is not only a matter of taking the fastest line through a corner.
Is Re-Volt multiplayer on Switch?
Yes. The updated Nintendo Switch version advertises local split-screen multiplayer for up to four players on one system. The announcement describes this as local play rather than an online multiplayer service, so the information currently published does not establish online matchmaking or cross-play.

A marketplace listing should not be assumed to have the same inventory or terms as the official store.
What languages does the physical edition support?
The H2 Edition product page lists English, French, Spanish, Italian, German, Korean and Japanese. H2 Interactive’s Japanese announcement describes the packaged software as English-language and says Japanese play is available by changing the system language setting. |---|---|---|
| Platforms | Nintendo Switch or PlayStation 5 | Nintendo Switch |
| Delivery | Download from the relevant console storefront | Boxed product shipped by the retailer |
| Collector extras | Not stated | Box, metal slipcase, stickers, manual and two soundtrack discs |
