There is no verified working RARBG proxy or official mirror in 2025 or 2026. The original rarbg.to service permanently shut down on May 31, 2023. Since then, websites using names such as “RARBG official,” “RARBG proxy,” or “RARBG mirror” have appeared, but none of the available evidence proves that they are operated or endorsed by the original RARBG team.
That distinction matters: a domain can load in your browser and still be a clone, parked page, affiliate site, phishing page, or unrelated torrent index. This guide explains how to interpret current RARBG proxy claims, what happened to the service, and how to avoid malware and fake branding.
RARBG status: permanently shut down
RARBG stopped operating on May 31, 2023. The shutdown notice attributed the decision to a combination of deaths and illness related to COVID-19, the war in Ukraine, inflation, and increasing operating and electricity costs.
There has been no verified official relaunch, successor service, or current official mirror. Therefore, rarbg.to failing to load in 2025 or 2026 should not automatically be interpreted as an ISP block. For the original service, permanent shutdown is the more accurate explanation.

Is there a working RARBG proxy list?
Not in the sense implied by current proxy-list pages. A proxy can forward traffic to a website that is still operating, but it cannot recreate a service that no longer exists. It also cannot prove that a third-party copy has RARBG’s original database, moderation, release verification, or tracker infrastructure.
Search results currently include domains advertised with names such as rarbg.im, rarbg.com.im, rarbggo.to, rarbgproxy.to, rarbgmirror.org, and rarbg.co.im. These names appear in third-party lists, but the available evidence does not establish ownership, continuity, or authenticity. They should not be treated as official RARBG endpoints.
Why a live website does not prove authenticity
Checking whether a page returns an HTTP response only answers whether a server is reachable. It does not answer who operates it or whether its files and listings are genuine.

| What you observe | What it actually proves | What it does not prove |
|---|---|---|
| The domain opens | A server returned a page | That RARBG operates the domain |
| The page uses the RARBG logo | The operator copied the branding | That the site is authentic |
| It lists torrents associated with RARBG | The operator has copied or indexed data | That the original database or moderation is intact |
| A proxy list calls it “official” | A publisher made that claim | Independent confirmation from the original team |
| The site offers magnet or torrent buttons | The page provides download links | That the links are safe, genuine, or legal to use |
Common problems with alleged RARBG mirrors
Unofficial pages associated with RARBG branding have been reported or observed with several recurring failure modes:
- Domain disappearance: a site works briefly and then vanishes or changes names.
- Contradictory status claims: different pages identify different domains as the “main” or “official” site.
- Intrusive advertising: repeated pop-ups, fake browser alerts, push-notification prompts, and misleading download buttons.
- Malicious links: pages may redirect to unwanted software, phishing forms, or fake browser updates.
- Fake branding: copied logos and familiar page layouts create the appearance of continuity without evidence of ownership.
- Unverified listings: a copied title or release name does not demonstrate that the file is authentic or safe.
How to evaluate a site claiming to be RARBG
If you encounter a site making that claim, use the following checks before interacting with it:
- Check the date of the claim. A page titled “RARBG Proxy List 2025” may be newly published or updated in 2026, and its title is not proof of current operation.
- Look for independent confirmation. A list of domains repeated across several SEO pages is still not independent verification if those pages cite one another.
- Do not enter credentials. RARBG has no verified current account portal that requires your email, password, payment details, or crypto payment.
- Reject forced downloads. A site should not require an executable file, browser extension, “codec,” VPN installer, or security update just to display a page.
- Inspect the address carefully. Misspellings, unusual country-code domains, excessive redirects, and newly registered lookalikes are warning signs.
- Leave if the page uses scare tactics. Messages claiming your device is infected or that you must enable notifications are common abuse patterns.
What happened to the old RARBG workflow?
Historical descriptions may say that users opened RARBG, searched for a release, selected a result, and clicked a magnet or .torrent button. That describes the former service or an unverified clone. It is not a current, verified RARBG interface.

What to do if you already visited a suspected mirror
- Close the tab and do not accept notification permissions.
- Remove any unfamiliar browser extensions installed during the visit.
- Check your browser’s notification permissions and delete the suspicious site.
- Run a scan with your operating system’s trusted security tools if a file downloaded or executed.
- Delete untrusted downloads without opening them.
- Change a password immediately if you entered it on the site, and enable multifactor authentication where available.
- Review browser downloads, recently installed applications, and account-login alerts for anything unexpected.
Safer ways to find legitimate content
For films and television, use an authorized streaming service, a library service, or a legal digital rental and purchase platform available in your region. For software, download from the developer’s official website or a recognized app store. For Linux distributions and other open-source projects, use the project’s official download page and published checksums or signatures.
If your goal is finding a specific older release, search the rights holder, publisher, developer, studio, or public library catalogue rather than relying on an unverified mirror. A result that is difficult to locate legally is not evidence that a third-party download is authentic or safe.

FAQ
Is RARBG working in 2025 or 2026?
No verified evidence shows that the original RARBG service is operating. RARBG permanently shut down on May 31, 2023, and no official relaunch or successor has been verified.
Are there any official RARBG mirrors?
No current domain has been independently verified as an official RARBG-operated mirror. Websites that use “official” or “community-verified” labels are making claims that are not supported by evidence from the original operators.

Many such pages are third-party proxy-list or clone sites. Some may be affiliate or SEO pages, while others may be unrelated indexes or sites using copied branding. A live page is not proof of authenticity.

Is rarbg.to down because my ISP blocks it?
That explanation applied in some regions while RARBG operated. After the permanent shutdown, failure to load rarbg.to is consistent with the service no longer existing, not necessarily with regional blocking.
Can a proxy restore the original RARBG database?
No. A proxy can relay requests to an existing site, but it cannot recreate RARBG’s original infrastructure, moderation, release verification, or complete index.
What should I do if a RARBG mirror asks me to install software?
Do not install it. Close the page, remove any downloaded file or unfamiliar extension, review notification permissions, and run a security scan if anything was opened or executed.

Bottom line: RARBG is not operational in 2025 or 2026. The original service closed permanently on May 31, 2023, and no current proxy or mirror has been verified as official. Treat every site claiming to be the “official RARBG” as unaffiliated unless ownership can be independently demonstrated—and avoid pages that demand downloads, credentials, payments, or browser permissions.
