Our verdict on Ziina

Ziina is a UAE payment app for individuals and businesses that combines wallet transfers, customer collections and digital payment tools. Personal users can send payments to Ziina accounts, receive funds into a wallet, cash out to a bank account and track transactions in the app. Businesses can accept payments through payment links and Tap to Pay on supported iOS and Android devices. The service is available on iOS and Android, with email and chat support, and supports solo, small and mid-market businesses.

Pricing is freemium, with a free Ziina Lite membership. Lite includes free bank-transfer top-ups, a 0% foreign-currency card-spend allowance up to AED 3,000 per calendar month and a 2.5% card top-up fee per transaction. Personal card-funded transactions carry a 2.9% fee plus AED 1 per transaction. Ziina Violet costs AED 100 per month or AED 996 per year and raises the foreign-currency card-spend allowance to AED 20,000 per calendar month. After that allowance, the fee is 0.5% per transaction. Violet card top-ups cost 1% up to AED 5,000 per billing cycle, then 2.5%, while bank-transfer top-ups remain free.

Its strongest fit is wallet-based payments and merchant collections where customers can pay through Ziina, payment links or supported mobile devices. Apple Pay and Google Pay support, Visa and Mastercard compatibility, and a digital Ziina Card extend its payment ecosystem. Tap to Pay is available on supported iOS and Android devices, while transaction history and cash-out status provide in-app visibility. Ziina is less suitable when recipients must receive funds directly through a non-wallet method, since its recipient method is wallet-based.
