Our verdict on STRATO Mail
STRATO Mail provides hosted email for individuals, organizations and businesses using custom domains. It combines STRATO Webmail with IMAP and POP3 access, aliases, forwarding, server-side antivirus and antispam, and mailbox migration assistance. The service suits solo users and small teams that want custom-domain email without managing mail infrastructure, especially when attachment size matters. It also supports Outlook, Thunderbird, other email clients, HiDrive, and Google contacts and calendars.
Its clearest practical strength is the email feature set around everyday administration. Attachments can reach 75 MB, aliases can support up to 250 addresses, and filtering is handled server-side. Calendar, task and contact management are available, while Business plans add ActiveSync synchronization and online storage. This gives the service a broader workspace role than basic mailbox hosting, although the primary platform is web-based and mobile access relies on third-party apps or browser access.
The plan structure separates basic mailbox hosting from business-oriented tools. Starter, Basic and Plus include ad-free mailboxes, STRATO Webmail and one .de domain. Business plans add premium mailboxes, ActiveSync, calendar management, task planning and online storage, with options covering one, five or ten premium mailboxes. STRATO Mail is a sensible pick for users prioritizing attachment capacity, aliases and familiar email-client access. Organizations needing deeper collaboration features or a more native mobile experience should consider alternatives with broader platform coverage.
