Our verdict on Rackspace Email
Rackspace Email is a hosted business email service for organizations that need custom-domain mailboxes, webmail, Outlook access and mobile-client support. The base Rackspace Email plan includes 25 GB mailboxes, unlimited email aliases, premium spam and virus protection, IMAP and POP access, and free migrations. It supports web, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android access, with Microsoft Outlook and Mac Mail listed as integrations. Businesses can also receive 24x7x365 expert support.
Pricing is organized into three monthly per-mailbox plans. Rackspace Email costs $10 per mailbox per month and includes webmail, Outlook and mobile access, aliases, protection and migrations. Rackspace Email Plus costs $12 per mailbox per month and adds 30 GB file storage, ActiveSync, shared calendars and contacts, Office-compatible applications and instant messaging. Email Archiving costs $18 per mailbox per month and adds unlimited archived-email storage, message and attachment preservation, advanced search and compliance support. A 14-day free trial is available.
The service fits organizations that want conventional hosted email with broad client compatibility and migration assistance rather than a free mailbox product. Email Plus is the relevant choice for businesses that need mobile synchronization, shared calendars or contacts, while Email Archiving is aimed at teams needing preserved messages, advanced search and compliance support. Organizations seeking those capabilities at the base price should consider the plan differences carefully, and businesses that do not need support-backed hosting may find the monthly mailbox pricing less suitable.
