Our verdict on PatientNow

PatientNow is cloud-based practice management software for medical aesthetics, med spas, plastic surgery, dermatology, weight-loss, IV therapy, wellness, and other elective-care practices. It combines electronic medical records and aesthetic charting with online booking, patient self-rescheduling, digital intake, consent packets, reminders, payments, photography, telehealth, reporting, and patient engagement. Patients can book online, while practices manage waitlists, cancellation backfilling, recurring visits, deposits, memberships, billing, and follow-up workflows.

Its strongest fit comes from the combination of clinical and operational workflows. Before-and-after photography is supported through RxPhoto, while integrations include QuickBooks Online, CareCredit, DoseSpot, Labcorp, Optum, Swell, TouchMD, WooCommerce, and an API. The platform is available on web, iOS, and Android. Practices can also use telehealth consultations and follow-ups, provider or location performance dashboards, and AI-powered patient engagement and appointment booking through Recura. This makes PatientNow more relevant to teams that need scheduling connected to patient records, payments, photography, and reporting rather than a standalone calendar.

The plan structure separates Essentials, designed for aesthetic and cash-pay practices, from Pro, designed for medical practices needing full EMR, labs, and insurance. Pricing follows a contact-sales model. PatientNow suits practices that want a broad specialty-oriented system covering booking, clinical documentation, communications, payments, and patient follow-up in one environment. Smaller teams seeking only appointment booking, or organizations outside aesthetic and elective care, should consider a more narrowly focused scheduling product instead.
