Our verdict on Neomailbox

Neomailbox is a hosted email service for individuals, families, groups, and small businesses that want privacy-focused messaging across common platforms. It combines secure webmail with TLS-protected IMAP, POP3, and SMTP access, client-side OpenPGP encryption, encrypted mailbox storage, IP hiding for outgoing email, and multi-level spam and virus protection. Accounts can use Neomailbox subdomain addresses or custom domains, with DKIM signing and SPF for outgoing mail. Access is available through web, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and Linux.

Its strongest fit is users who want encrypted email alongside familiar client software. Neomailbox supports Thunderbird, Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, Android Mail, and other IMAP- or POP3-compatible clients, so it can sit within an established desktop or mobile email workflow. Custom-domain hosting and outgoing-mail authentication also make it suitable for small businesses and groups that need branded addresses without giving up privacy-oriented controls. The combination of OpenPGP, TLS, IP hiding, and encrypted storage gives the service a clearly security-led focus.

The main trade-off is mailbox capacity: storage is limited to 1 GB, which may suit focused email use better than large archives or attachment-heavy workflows. Neomailbox is a paid service with a 30-day risk-free trial and a 30-day refund guarantee, while the service terms specify a minimum 12-month service period. Choose it if privacy features, broad client compatibility, and custom-domain support matter more than storage volume. Consider an alternative if you need substantially more mailbox space or a shorter service commitment.
