Our verdict on Navan Expense

Navan Expense is a cloud-based expense management product for businesses and finance teams, with a particular fit for travel-focused organizations. It captures corporate card and out-of-pocket expenses, applies configurable policies and spend guardrails, categorizes transactions, and gives finance teams real-time visibility into spending. Employees can upload receipts, submit expenses, and receive approved reimbursements through payroll or directly to a bank account. Mileage reimbursement, per diem allowances, approval workflows, reporting, reconciliation, and audit trails extend its coverage beyond basic receipt collection.

Pricing is structured around a free starting point and a paid business tier. The first five monthly expensing users are free, after which Navan Business costs $15 per user per month when billed monthly. That tier includes expense management, reimbursements, corporate or business card connections, receipt scanning, and integrations with most ERPs. Navan Enterprise is priced by quote and adds the full Navan Travel and Expense suites, unlimited travelers and expensing users, global program coverage, custom implementation, and a dedicated Customer Success Manager. This makes the paid structure relevant for teams that need broader travel coverage or more guided deployment.

Platform coverage includes web, iOS, Android, and API access. Integrations span NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage, Datev, Workday, Rippling, BambooHR, Gusto, HiBob, Okta, Microsoft Azure, Concur, Coupa, and Expensify. Payroll and bank-account reimbursement options support different finance workflows, while connected cards and real-time transaction capture can reduce manual entry. Navan Expense is a strong fit for organizations that need travel-related allowances, mobile receipt capture, and policy-based controls in one system. Teams seeking only simple expense submissions may not need its broader travel and integration scope.
