Microsoft Universal Print review
A strong fit for Microsoft environments that need centralized, secure cloud printing.

Microsoft Universal Print is a cloud-based print infrastructure service for organizations using Microsoft 365, Windows Enterprise, or eligible education and government subscriptions. It centralizes printer management through the Azure portal, supports driverless printing for supported Windows endpoints, and helps users find printers by location. It is suited to Microsoft-centric organizations that want cloud-managed printing across Windows, macOS, web browsers, supported mobile devices, and the Microsoft Graph API.
According to the published plans, pricing starts at $25 per 500 jobs per month with annual billing. The Universal Print volume add-on — 500 jobs costs $25, while Universal Print Additional Capacity — 10,000 jobs costs $300 per 10,000 jobs per month. Education pricing is $7.50 per 500 jobs or $90 per 10,000 jobs per month, each with annual billing. The paid tiers add print volume rather than a different feature set. Universal Print is also included with eligible Microsoft 365 and Windows subscriptions.
Its strongest fit is the Microsoft ecosystem: Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Graph, PowerShell, and the Universal Print connector support identity, administration, scripting, and compatibility with existing printers. Secure release can use QR codes and supported printer release methods, while per-user and per-printer reports provide usage visibility. Organizations seeking centralized cloud printing and Microsoft administration should consider it; those needing a free plan or print quotas should choose an alternative.
