libguestfs is an open-source library and toolset for accessing, inspecting, modifying, and mounting virtual machine disk images. It is aimed at Linux and virtualization administrators, developers, and automation workflows rather than general desktop users. The toolkit works with local, remote, and removable-media images and supports raw, qcow2, vmdk, vdi, vpc, and vhd formats.
