Our verdict on KANAP
KANAP combines IT records, budgets, projects, documentation, an AI assistant called Plaid, and autonomous service-desk agents. It is aimed at IT departments that want automation grounded in organizational information, with governance controls and knowledge management in the same platform. Teams can self-host on their infrastructure or choose hosted cloud deployment; its open-source software is released under AGPL v3.
The agent workflow is the defining strength: agents read service-desk tasks against IT data and can propose or execute actions according to configured autonomy. Their activity is recorded in an audit trail, and an emergency pause is available. Plaid supports natural-language search and structured queries across applications, owners, projects, costs, and documentation. Write operations can be previewed and approved before execution. These controls make KANAP more suited to teams that want bounded automation than to buyers seeking an ungoverned chatbot.
The free Self-host plan includes the full feature set, unlimited users and workspaces, and requires a customer-provided LLM key. Self-hosted support costs €2,490 per year and adds priority email support, installation and upgrade assistance, and production issue support.
