Our verdict on ITVX
ITVX is ITV’s UK streaming service for live television, on-demand programmes, films and box sets. It suits viewers who want access to ITV channels and programmes without a subscription, as well as those interested in adding a broader selection through Premium. The service is intended for personal viewing in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man, and is available on the web and iOS and Android apps. Its mix of live and on-demand viewing makes it a fit for people who want both scheduled ITV programming and shows they can choose when to watch.
The free ITVX Standard plan is ad-supported. ITVX Premium costs £5.99 per month or £59.99 per year, according to the published pricing. Premium adds additional films and shows, the BritBox catalogue, ad-free access to most on-demand titles and mobile downloads. That makes the paid tier most relevant to viewers who value those additions; those mainly seeking free ITV viewing can stay with Standard. Premium downloads are available on mobile versions of ITVX and are subject to licensing restrictions, so they are not a general offline option across every platform or title.
Live streams include ITV1, ITV2, ITVBe, ITV3 and ITV4, alongside themed live channels, while the on-demand catalogue includes shows, movies and box sets. Kids profiles are also available. The breadth is centred on ITV programming and the included BritBox catalogue rather than a general-purpose service described as covering every broadcaster. Choose ITVX for free access to ITV live and on-demand content, or Premium if its extra catalogue and mobile downloads are useful. Viewers who do not want an ad-supported free tier or whose priority lies outside ITV and BritBox content may prefer another service.
