Where it wins
- Managed Valkey includes automatic database backups and connection pooling.
- Deploy from GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Docker registries.
- CLI, persistent workers, and scheduled jobs support varied workloads.
Where it doesn't
- Hobby limits each service to 1 vCPU, 1 GiB RAM, and 1 replica.
- The platform spans many services, so Redis-specific operations are a narrower focus.
- Email is the listed support channel outside Enterprise Telegram support.
Our verdict on Granite
Granite is a cloud application platform for developers, startups, and small teams that need hosted Valkey alongside application and database deployment. For Redis-hosting buyers, Valkey is the relevant managed option; the platform also includes web applications, persistent background workers, scheduled cron jobs, managed databases, and S3-compatible storage. It is best suited to smaller deployments that value having these services in one platform, rather than teams seeking a narrowly focused Redis operations product.
Pricing starts with Hobby at $9 per month, with $15 of monthly usage credits, up to 1 vCPU and 1 GiB RAM per service, one replica, and persistent volumes up to 350 MiB. Advanced costs $39 per month and includes $50 of usage credits, up to 2 vCPU, 2 GiB RAM, three replicas, and 1 GiB persistent volumes. Professional is $149 per month, with $200 of credits, up to 8 vCPU, 16 GiB RAM, 10 replicas, and 30 GiB persistent volumes. Each named plan includes unlimited workspace seats. Enterprise has custom pricing, up to 16 vCPU and 32 GiB RAM per service, unlimited replicas, custom persistent volumes, and Telegram support. The published description says plans include usage credits and that additional usage is billed through extra credits.
Deployment can start from GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or Docker registries, with a CLI for applications and resources. Automatic database backups and connection pooling are useful operational features for Valkey and the other managed databases. However, Granite's breadth makes it a better fit for teams combining hosted data services with app deployment than for buyers prioritizing Redis-specific operational depth. Choose it for a small Valkey deployment bundled with application infrastructure; consider a more focused alternative if Redis operations are the central requirement. Email is the listed support channel, except Enterprise includes Telegram support.
