Google Workspace combines custom-domain Gmail with Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Chat, and centralized user and security administration. It is designed for businesses, schools, and other organizations that want email alongside shared calendars, video meetings, collaborative documents, and managed accounts. Gmail is available through web browsers, native Android and iOS apps, compatible IMAP or POP clients, and supported desktop platforms.
Published annual pricing starts with Business Starter at $7 per user per month. It includes 30 GB of pooled storage per user, custom business email, Calendar, Meet for up to 100 participants, and collaboration in Docs, Sheets, and Slides. Business Standard costs $14 per user per month and adds 2 TB of pooled storage per user plus enhanced collaboration and productivity tools. Business Plus costs $22 and adds 5 TB per user with advanced security and compliance features. Enterprise uses custom pricing and includes 5 TB of storage or more, S/MIME encryption, and larger video meetings. A 14-day free trial is available.
The main advantage is ecosystem fit: Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet, Chat, and Microsoft Outlook are named integrations, while migration tools support Outlook, webmail, and other email systems. Platform coverage spans web, Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android, a Chrome extension, and API access. That breadth suits teams standardizing communication and document work in one environment. Organizations that need only hosted mail, want a free plan, or prefer a narrower email service may find the paid collaboration-suite structure more than they need.
