GLPI is an open-source IT service management platform for organizations that need more than an incident queue. It combines incident and service-request ticketing with SLA and OLA tracking, escalation levels, approval stages, a knowledge base, FAQ support, self-service access, and service catalog forms. Its asset inventory, configuration management, software management, and license tracking make it a fit for IT teams that want help desk operations and technology administration in the same system. GLPI is available through web, API, and self-hosted deployments, with Teclib-managed cloud plans for organizations that prefer hosted infrastructure.

The pricing structure supports different operating models. Public Cloud costs €19 per user per month on shared infrastructure, starts with one user, and includes unlimited assets and end users. Private Cloud costs €21 per user per month, provides a dedicated server and enhanced SLA, and has minimum billing for 25 users. Private Custom-Made uses dedicated architecture and custom quoting for specific infrastructure and availability requirements. A 45-day cloud trial is available, while self-hosted software and paid GLPI Network subscriptions provide other adoption paths. The published cloud prices are monthly and exclude tax.

GLPI’s main strength is breadth: ticketing, self-service, knowledge management, approvals, authorization administration, assets, software, licenses, REST API access, and integrations with Azure/Entra, Centreon, DeepL, Google, OAuth2, and Webhooks. That scope suits organizations seeking an open-source system of record for service operations and IT assets. Teams that need a free plan, stated mobile apps, or AI capabilities should consider alternatives with those requirements explicitly covered. GLPI is the stronger choice when self-hosting, asset visibility, and service-management depth matter more than a narrower help desk experience.
