Our verdict on Fireside

Fireside is conference organizing software for program teams running calls for speakers. It brings proposal collection, submission management, blind reviewer assessments, committee decisions, speaker obligations, session placement, agenda building, and event-day coordination into one system. Organizers can also publish public program, session, and speaker pages. The product is free, open source, and available through web, API, and self-hosted options, with deployment in the organizer's own Cloudflare account.

Its strongest area is the depth of the program workflow. Fireside supports blind reviewer assignments and scoring, staged committee decisions and letters, speaker task tracking, and session placement with conflict checks. That combination covers the path from incoming proposals through review, acceptance decisions, scheduling, and public presentation. The published category specifications also show mixed submission types, multi-stage review, and a schedule builder. MCP access extends the workflow to event data and proposal submission while using the same controls as the web forms.

The main constraint is scale at the free submission limit: the published limit is three. That makes Fireside a better fit for small calls or tightly scoped open-source proposal programs than for larger submission volumes. Its listed integration is Claude, while the broader platform options focus on web, API, and self-hosted deployment. Choose Fireside when you want an open-source system covering review, decisions, speaker tasks, scheduling, and public pages in one place. Choose another option when a call requires more than three free submissions or a wider integration set.
