Our verdict on Fidelia
Fidelia is a music player for people who maintain local audio libraries on macOS, iPhone and iPad. It supports high-resolution formats including WAV, AIFF, FLAC, Apple Lossless, CAF, MP3, AAC, OGG Vorbis, Opus, AC3, Wave64, Sound Designer II, AU/SND, DSF and DFF. Its focus is detailed playback control: bit-perfect and exclusive playback, a ten-band EQ with AutoEQ import, HeadSpace crossfeed, reference sample-rate conversion, Pro Dither and three Audio Unit plugin slots. It suits solo listeners and small setups that prioritize local libraries over broader media management.
The paid structure is straightforward but split by device and capability. Fidelia for Mac — Full License costs $99.99 as a one-time purchase, while Fidelia for iPhone — Full License costs $29.99 one time. Each platform also has a Network & Server option that adds network playback. There is no free plan, but the apps include a 14-day trial. Mac and iPhone/iPad licenses, as well as network playback, are separate purchases, and regional prices may differ. This makes Fidelia easier to assess before buying, but more expensive for listeners who want the complete cross-device and network feature set.
Its strongest fit is an Apple-centered audio setup. The Mac app synchronizes with a local Apple Music library and can browse Lyrion and UPnP/DLNA libraries, while Audio Unit support provides room for compatible processing tools. The iPhone and iPad version adds CarPlay and library access over Wi-Fi. Support is available through email, tickets and documentation. Choose Fidelia if advanced playback processing, local-library control and network listening matter more than minimizing cost. Choose another player if you want a free plan or expect one purchase to cover every platform and network feature.
