- Creates unique masked addresses and hides your real email address
- Lets you block or delete individual addresses that attract spam
- Includes mail, calendars, contacts, files, migration, and native apps
Where it doesn't

- Basic excludes IMAP, POP, SMTP, CalDAV, and CardDAV access
- Its main differentiation is narrower than broader hosted email suites
Our verdict on Fastmail Masked Email
Fastmail Masked Email generates unique email addresses for online accounts, helping keep a real address private from websites. Users can send and reply from masked addresses, then block or delete individual addresses if they attract spam. It suits people who want privacy-oriented email controls alongside hosted mail, calendars, contacts, file storage, and migration tools. Access is available through web, Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, and an API, with support for up to 600 aliases.
Pricing follows Fastmail’s broader account plans. Basic costs $4 per user per month and includes 5 GB of mail storage, 1 GB of file storage, shared calendars, and Fastmail web and mobile apps. Individual costs $6 per month and adds 50 GB of mail storage, 10 GB of file storage, Masked Email, personal and work calendars, and third-party email apps. Duo costs $10 per month for two users, while Family costs $14 per month for up to six users; both include Masked Email and 50 GB of storage per user. Business plans range from $4 to $10 per user per month, adding features such as custom domains, third-party email apps, scheduled sending, snooze, and email retention.
The strongest feature is address-level control: Fastmail can generate distinct addresses, keep the primary address hidden, and allow individual addresses to be disabled. Integrations with 1Password and Bitwarden support password-manager workflows, while Dropbox, Outlook, iPhone Mail, and Thunderbird are also listed integrations. Migration tools import mail, contacts, and calendar events from other providers. Buyers who primarily want masked addresses with a hosted email account should find the feature set well aligned. Those seeking wider suite differentiation, or protocol access on the Basic plan, should consider a supported higher plan or another email service.
