Our verdict on Apple Certified Refurbished

Apple Certified Refurbished is Apple's direct-sales program for refurbished Apple devices and accessories. It suits buyers who want a refurbished Mac, iPhone, iPad, or other Apple product with Apple-described testing and warranty coverage. The selection also includes Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple TV, HomePod, and accessories, so it spans several device types while staying within one brand's ecosystem. Products are sold in new white packaging with included accessories, cables, and operating systems.

Assurance is the program's main distinction. Apple says refurbished products receive full functional testing, cleaning, and inspection, with genuine Apple replacement parts used as needed. Refurbished iOS devices also come with a new battery and outer shell. Each purchase includes a one-year limited warranty, and additional AppleCare coverage may be available. Free shipping and returns are included; the stated return-window information is US-specific. These terms make the offer more relevant to buyers who value vendor-backed refurbishment and support than to shoppers focused only on comparing used-device listings.

This is a paid catalog rather than a subscription service, and individual refurbished product prices vary by item. There is no free plan; buyers choose from the products available in the catalog. That direct-sales model keeps the offering focused, but it also means the marketplace is not a place to compare devices from multiple brands or to sell a device as a business. Pick Apple Certified Refurbished if you want an Apple device with Apple's testing process, parts policy, and warranty. Choose a broader marketplace if you need non-Apple products or want to compare independent sellers.
