Pokémon UNITE will end service on March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC on both Nintendo Switch and mobile. After that time, you will not be able to log in or play battles. Your live account, matchmaking progress and online inventory are not promised to remain available. The only announced preservation option is the Library: if you complete its required data download before the deadline, you can view certain records and in-game content after closure. Library data is generally tied to the device on which it was downloaded, and post-shutdown support will not be available.
Use remaining Aeos Gems before service ends unless an official refund route applies in your region, check when your existing UNITE Club period expires, and do not delete your account or uninstall the game before completing any required regional refund process.
When exactly does Pokémon UNITE close?
The final shutdown time is March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC. The deadline applies to the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions. Pokémon Support says that after service ends, players will no longer be able to log in or participate in battles. That means the game will no longer function as an online service, rather than becoming an offline version of the same account.

Pokémon Support’s end-of-service notice is the primary statement about the shutdown.
What happens to my Pokémon UNITE account and progress?
Your account does not continue as a playable online profile after the deadline. The official notices do not promise continued access to matchmaking, battles, account progression, online inventory or other live-service functions. The distinction to keep in mind is live progress versus an archived record: the Library can preserve selected information for viewing, but it is not a replacement account.
Live gameplay progress ends with the service
Ranks, matchmaking, new matches, ongoing progression and server-dependent features require the service to be running. Once login is disabled, there is no announced way to keep earning, changing or synchronizing that information. The notices also do not guarantee that every item associated with your account will appear in the Library.

Players who complete the required Library data download before shutdown can access the Library afterward. It is intended for viewing certain records and in-game content, not for starting battles or continuing a live account. The exact material shown depends on what the feature downloads and preserves; the announcement does not promise that every license, Holowear item, currency balance or statistic will be available.
The official announcement says Library data generally cannot be transferred when changing devices. If you change phones or Switch consoles, assume the downloaded Library may not follow you unless a later regional notice explicitly says otherwise.
What if the app or Library data is deleted?
If the game or Library data is deleted or otherwise lost after service ends, it may not be recoverable. The same announcement says support for the Library feature will not be available after shutdown. Keep the device and installation containing the downloaded Library intact if the archive matters to you, and resolve account or technical questions before the deadline.

Can I keep my Pokémon licenses, Holowear and battle records?
Only to the extent that the post-shutdown Library preserves them. The official wording promises access to “certain records and in-game content,” not a complete, interactive copy of your account. It therefore would be inaccurate to promise that every Pokémon license, Holowear purchase, item, statistic or battle record will remain viewable.
Complete the Library download while the service is still operating, then open the Library on the same device before shutdown to confirm that the download has finished. This confirmation does not expand what the Library stores; it simply reduces the risk of discovering too late that the required download was never completed.
What happens to Aeos Gems after sales stop?
Aeos Gem sales stopped on October 27, 2026, at 05:00 UTC. Existing Gems can be spent while the service remains online, but the official announcement says unused Gems will no longer be usable after March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC.
Spend now or investigate a refund?
Your practical choice depends on your region and on how the Gems were obtained:
- Spend before shutdown: Existing Gems can be used for eligible in-game content until the service deadline. This is the only universally stated way to use them; it does not create value after closure.
- Check a regional refund process: Some regions may publish a specific procedure. Follow that notice instead of assuming that a refund is available everywhere.
- Do not wait past the deadline: Unused Gems are not promised to remain usable, and any application window or evidence requirements may be regional.
The terms for virtual content state: “FEES THAT HAVE BEEN PAID BY USER FOR THE VIRTUAL CONTENT CANNOT BE EXCHANGED FOR CASH OR CREDIT UNLESS REQUIRED BY LAW.” They also say the company will not refund money or provide other compensation when an account is closed unless required by law. Those are general terms, not a guarantee that every country treats purchases identically.

What the Japan notice says
The official Japanese shutdown notice describes a specific post-shutdown refund route for unused purchased paid Aeos Gems. Bonus Gems and Gems supplied as a UNITE membership benefit are excluded. The request must be made through an in-game form, and the notice warns players not to delete the game before completing the procedure because deletion may prevent an application.
That process is explicitly regional. Do not treat it as a worldwide refund policy; look for a notice covering your country or territory before relying on it.

What happens to UNITE Club memberships?
UNITE Club is winding down rather than renewing indefinitely. New memberships and automatic renewals stopped on October 27, 2026, at 05:00 UTC. If you already had an active membership, its benefits continue only through the end of the membership period already in force.
Check the membership end date shown in your account and do not assume that a recurring payment will renew. The suspension of new purchases and renewals is separate from the final service shutdown: an existing period can end earlier, while the game itself remains available until March 23, 2027.

Should I delete my account or uninstall Pokémon UNITE?
No. Account deletion is different from service closure and is irreversible. Pokémon Support says deleting the account deletes all data, including purchases, and that the data cannot be recovered.
Deleting the app can also create a problem if you still need to complete a regional refund application or retain the Library on that device. The Japanese refund notice specifically warns against deleting the game before the refund procedure is complete. Keep the installation available until you have finished any applicable claim and the Library download.
Do not use account deletion as a way to “lock in” your records. It removes the account data that the shutdown process would otherwise handle.
What should I do before March 23, 2027?
Start with the preservation and money decisions, then deal with support questions while the service is still operating.
- Install the Library update. The feature is scheduled for November 12, 2026, at 04:00 UTC. Update the game when it becomes available in your region.
- Complete the required Library data download. Finish it before March 23, 2027, at 00:00 UTC. A partial or postponed download does not qualify for the announced post-shutdown access.
- Verify the download on the device you plan to keep. Library data generally cannot be transferred to another phone or Switch, so choose the device that will hold the archive.
- Decide what to do with Aeos Gems. Spend existing Gems before closure, or investigate an official regional refund route if one applies to your paid Gems. Do not assume bonus or membership-benefit Gems qualify.
- Check UNITE Club. Record the end of your current membership period and confirm that no renewal is expected after October 27, 2026, at 05:00 UTC.
- Submit regional refund requests before uninstalling. If your local notice requires an in-game form, complete it while the game is installed and retain any confirmation it provides.
- Resolve support cases now. The Library announcement says post-shutdown support will not be available. Ask questions and fix account-access issues before the service deadline.
- Do not delete the account. Deletion permanently removes account data and purchases, independent of the scheduled service closure.
What will I still be able to do after the servers close?
If you completed the required Library download, you may be able to open the Library and view the records and content that it preserved. You will not be able to log in for normal online play or participate in battles. There is no announced post-shutdown process for restoring a lost Library, transferring it to a new device, continuing progression or obtaining support.

How should I interpret the refund rules in my country?
Start with the regional shutdown notice and the purchase type, not with a universal yes-or-no answer. The general terms make refunds conditional on applicable law, while the Japan notice identifies a defined process for a particular class of paid Gems.
- Region: Is there an official notice for your country or territory?
- Currency type: Were the Gems purchased with money, awarded as a bonus, or included as a membership benefit?
- Procedure: Does the notice require an in-game form, a deadline or a still-installed copy of the game?
- Timing: Can you complete the process before March 23, 2027, and preserve any required account access?
Until a local notice answers those points, do not promise yourself a refund and do not delete the game in an attempt to preserve eligibility.
What is the difference between account closure and account deletion?
Account closure is the scheduled end of the Pokémon UNITE service for everyone. Account deletion is an action you take yourself, and Pokémon Support says it permanently deletes all account data and purchases.
Closure prevents login and battles at the announced deadline, with limited Library access for players who completed the download. Deletion removes the data before that process can help you, so it is not a preservation method.
