Pebble founder Eric Migicovsky announced two new e-paper smartwatches in 2025: Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2. They are now listed in Pebble’s store as Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble Time 2. Pebble reports median battery life of more than 30 days for the monochrome 2 Duo and around 21 days for the color Time 2; those figures are company-reported, not independent test results.
What are the two Pebble watches?
The models take different approaches: Pebble 2 Duo keeps to a basic monochrome display and button controls, while Pebble Time 2 adds color, a touchscreen, health monitoring and audio hardware. The names changed after the 2025 announcement: Core 2 Duo became Pebble 2 Duo, and Core Time 2 became Pebble Time 2.

How long does the battery last?
In a July 14, 2026 update, Pebble said its median battery life was more than 30 days for Pebble 2 Duo and around 21 days for Pebble Time 2. The company said the 2 Duo median had risen from 17 days the previous summer. These are Pebble’s reported medians, not results from independent testing, and actual runtime depends on use.

Pebble identifies the backlight, animated watchfaces and health tracking as among the largest power consumers. If stretching a charge matters, limiting those features is the practical trade-off to consider. The company’s figures and notes appear in its July 2026 battery-life update.
Which model is the better fit?
Choose Pebble 2 Duo for simplicity
The 2 Duo is the more straightforward choice if you want a small monochrome e-paper screen, physical buttons and the longer company-reported median battery life. Its barometer and compass distinguish it from a bare-bones watch, but the listed specifications do not include the Time 2’s touchscreen, heart-rate monitor, microphone or speaker.

Choose Pebble Time 2 for color and health features
Time 2 is the color option, with a larger touchscreen, heart-rate monitor, microphone and speaker, plus a stainless-steel frame. It has the shorter reported battery median of the two. See the Pebble Time 2 listing for its current order status.

Pebble says Time 2 is production-line tested to 30 m / 3 ATM. The company describes it as suitable for brief exposure such as hand washing, bathing, swimming, showering, rain, paddling or sailing, but advises against diving, hot water and high-pressure water. A 30 m / 3 ATM rating is not a blanket guarantee for every water activity or condition. Pebble’s March 2026 production update gives the rating and caveats.

What to check before buying
- Availability: As of September 30, 2026, the store showed Time 2 in stock and 2 Duo sold out. Pebble’s August 30 update said new Time 2 orders were in stock and shipping within 48 hours; a help page updated September 8 described shipping in 1–2 business days, subject to inventory. These are time-sensitive estimates, not a delivery guarantee.
- Charger fit: The watches use a Pebble charger connection. For a replacement, verify that any third-party charger is made for the exact model; availability and compatibility may vary by country. Pebble’s community charger discussion mentions third-party options, but does not establish universal compatibility.
