In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (2026), reach Player Level 11 to unlock the Oris 8.6. Then level the rifle itself to weapon Level 70 to earn the Oris 8.6 Razor Apex attachment. Razor is not a Player Level reward: it occupies a separate Apex slot, carries up to three quick-access throwing knives, and blocks every underbarrel attachment. For a general Multiplayer setup, the October 25 CODMunity recommendation uses the EXP Undertow Gen. 2, EXP Crosstac 22, XRK Clutch-LS, Cronen R808 and Bruen R7-TC Grip; other builds trade optic speed, mobility or magazine capacity for different modes. The builds below are dated recommendations, not an Activision-certified universal optimum.
| Name | Best for | Key spec | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Versatile Multiplayer | Balanced public-match play | Undertow Gen. 2 muzzle; Crosstac 22 barrel; Clutch-LS laser; Cronen R808 optic; R7-TC Grip; optional Razor | Oct 2026 |
| Mobility alternative | Fast movement and follow-up shots | Cold Echo muzzle; Crosstac 22 barrel; Visiv-5 laser; Quick Bolt; No Stock; optional Razor | Oct 2026 |
| Independent scoped build | Players who prefer a fast bolt and optic | Crosstac 22 barrel; Quick Bolt; Schlager 7x; BR7 Invader; R7-TC Grip | Oct 2026 |
| DMZ long-range | Long sightlines and extra ammunition | Undertow Gen. 2 muzzle; Crosstac 22 barrel; Cronen R808; 20 Round Mag; R7-TC Grip; optional Razor | Oct 2026 |
How do I unlock the Oris 8.6?
The current launch progression is simple: unlock the rifle at Player Level 11, equip it, and earn Oris weapon experience until its own progression reaches Level 70. Activision’s October 19 launch guide is the controlling source for the live game. An older beta card listed Rank 14 and 68 weapon levels, so those numbers should not be used for current instructions.
- Play Multiplayer until Player Level 11. The base Oris 8.6 becomes available at that player rank.
- Open Create-a-Class. Select the Oris 8.6 in the marksman-rifle category and place it in a loadout slot.
- Earn weapon XP with the Oris equipped. Kills, objective play and match completion contribute to the rifle’s weapon progression; the game shows the current level in your player profile and in the weapon’s Gunsmith Progression screen.
- Use Gunsmith as parts become available. The Oris supports optics, muzzle devices, barrels, bolts, underbarrels, magazines, rear grips, stocks, lasers and ammunition. Attachment levels shown by community guides can differ when an attachment is shared with another weapon, because a previously unlocked compatible part may already be available.
- Reach weapon Level 70. The final weapon-level reward is the Oris 8.6 Razor Apex attachment.
Activision describes the weapon as “A lightweight bolt-action rifle chambered in 8.6 Blackout” and lists 70 weapon levels in the launch documentation (Call of Duty launch guide). The base unlock and Razor therefore require play progression, not a paid attachment purchase.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
| Specification | Launch value | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon type | Lightweight bolt-action marksman rifle | Each shot uses a bolt-action cycle rather than a semiautomatic firing system. |
| Chambering | 8.6 Blackout | The ammunition designation used by the game. |
| Magazine | 10 rounds | Base magazine capacity before a magazine attachment. |
| Reserve | 30 rounds | Publisher-listed reserve ammunition for the base weapon. |
| Rate of fire | 89 RPM | Activision’s listed figure, not an independent measurement. |
| Special ammunition behavior | Subsonic rounds hide enemy skulls on kills | The launch sheet presents this as a signature property of the Oris ammunition. |
These are specifications published by Activision, not laboratory measurements or a population-wide performance study. Damage, range, accuracy, mobility and handling can change with attachments and balance updates, so use the values displayed in your current Gunsmith for the live numbers.
How do I get the Oris 8.6 Razor?
Razor is earned by fully leveling the Oris 8.6 to weapon Level 70. It is an Apex reward in the weapon’s progression, not a standard attachment and not a separate player-rank milestone.
What Razor does
Activision describes Razor as a receiver-mounted blade module that provides up to three quick-access throwing knives for close-range, low-signature engagements. Equip it in the weapon’s separate Apex slot after it appears as unlocked. It does not replace the rifle’s bolt or turn the Oris into a different weapon class.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhy Razor removes the underbarrel choice
Razor’s trade-off is explicit: it blocks underbarrel attachments. The Apex slot itself does not consume one of the five standard attachment slots, but the Razor module occupies the receiver area that prevents an underbarrel from being fitted. If an underbarrel disappears after selecting Razor, that is the intended restriction rather than a progression bug. Remove Razor when a foregrip or other underbarrel is more important to your build.
What are the best Oris 8.6 attachments?
There is no single official “best” setup. Activision provides attachment categories, pros and cons, Gunny suggestions and a Firing Range, while named loadouts come from independent guides. Choose according to the distance, movement and follow-up-shot speed your mode demands.
Versatile Multiplayer build
CODMunity’s October 25, 2026 recommendation is the most balanced starting point for ordinary Multiplayer:

- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
| Slot | Attachment | Community-listed unlock level |
|---|---|---|
| Muzzle | EXP Undertow Gen. 2 | 56 |
| Barrel | EXP Crosstac 22 | 37 |
| Laser | XRK Clutch-LS | 57 |
| Optic | Cronen R808 | 12 |
| Rear grip | Bruen R7-TC Grip | 30 |
| Apex | Oris 8.6 Razor, once weapon Level 70 is reached | Weapon Level 70 |
There is deliberately no underbarrel in this setup. That keeps the five standard slots available while allowing Razor to be added later without creating a slot conflict. CODMunity’s displayed levels are community data rather than an Activision per-attachment table; a shared attachment may unlock earlier on your account. See the dated loadout at CODMunity’s Oris 8.6 guide.
Mobility-focused alternative
CODMunity’s October 26 recommendation prioritizes movement and a quicker follow-up cycle:
- Muzzle: ZLR Cold Echo
- Barrel: EXP Crosstac 22
- Laser: Schlager Visiv-5
- Bolt: Lightfire-5 Quick Bolt
- Stock: No Stock
- Apex: Oris 8.6 Razor, optional after Level 70
This replaces the versatile setup’s dedicated optic and rear grip with a faster bolt and a lighter stock profile. CODMunity lists recoil penalties for No Stock, so treat it as a mobility trade rather than a free speed increase. Compare the sight picture, sprint-to-fire feel and recoil in the Firing Range before taking it into a match.
Independent scoped build
Jake Green’s launch-week guide for Nintendo Life recommends a scope-centered configuration:
- Barrel: EXP Crosstac 22
- Bolt: Lightfire-5 Quick Bolt
- Optic: Schlager 7x
- Stock: BR7 Invader
- Rear grip: Bruen R7-TC Grip
This combination favors magnified target identification, a faster bolt cycle and a grip intended to help with flinch. Nintendo Life presents it as its preferred launch-week build; that recommendation was not independently replicated here. Read the guide at Nintendo Life’s Modern Warfare 4 weapons guide.

- Barrel: EXP Crosstac 22
- Optic: Cronen R808
- Magazine: 20 Round Mag
- Rear grip: Bruen R7-TC Grip
- Apex: Oris 8.6 Razor, optional after Level 70
Verify the magazine capacity shown in your live Gunsmith rather than assuming a community stat table describes every patch. The extra magazine utility can help during extended DMZ encounters, but it may be less valuable than a laser or mobility part in a fast Multiplayer engagement.
How should I choose between Oris attachments?
Start with the problem you want to solve, then use the Firing Range to compare the parts that address it. Gunsmith exposes each attachment’s effects on damage, range, accuracy, mobility and handling, so read the complete trade-off instead of selecting a part from its name alone.
Optic versus speed
A higher-magnification optic can make distant targets easier to identify, but the sight picture and aim-down-sight handling may feel slower in close fights. Use the Cronen R808 or Schlager 7x when target recognition at range matters more than rapid transitions; keep a lower-profile sight or no dedicated optic when you routinely fight inside buildings.
Recommended Free Tools
Bolt speed versus control
The Lightfire-5 Quick Bolt is the mobility build’s key follow-up-shot part. Faster cycling can help after a missed shot, while a more control-oriented setup may be steadier for deliberate long-range shots. Compare the time between shots and the amount of visual disruption after firing rather than assuming the quickest bolt is always superior.
Magazine utility versus handling
The 20 Round Mag in the DMZ build offers more ammunition before a reload, which can matter when resupply is uncertain. A magazine can also add weight or handling costs shown in Gunsmith. In short Multiplayer rounds, the faster handling of a laser or grip may provide more value than extra rounds.
Razor versus an underbarrel
Razor’s knives are useful for a low-signature close-range option, but selecting Razor means giving up every underbarrel choice. If recoil control or another underbarrel effect is central to your aim, leave Razor unequipped even after earning it. The attachment is a tactical option, not a mandatory upgrade.

How does Oris progression work in DMZ?
DMZ has its own access requirement: the FOB Gunsmith unlocks at DMZ Level 10. Oris weapon progression counts across DMZ and Multiplayer, so XP earned in one mode contributes to the rifle’s weapon level.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Found weapons and Weapon Manuals
A found or extracted Oris can be used as a single instance. To repeatedly purchase the base weapon through the DMZ Gunsmith, Activision’s DMZ guide says you must extract the corresponding Weapon Manual. Constructing a weapon and adding standard attachments costs in-game DMZ Cash. These DMZ economy rules are separate from the Player Level 11 Multiplayer unlock.
Blueprints and the Volt-Edge distinction
Activision names Volt-Edge as the Oris 8.6 blueprint in the Vault Edition Signature Weapon Collection. The Vault Edition is digital-only. A blueprint does not establish a shortcut around the rifle’s progression: possessing Volt-Edge does not, by itself, remove the Level 70 requirement for Razor. The official DMZ and edition details are in Activision’s Forward Operating Base guide.
What can reset or relock Oris attachments?
Weapon Prestige is the main progression decision to understand before committing. Activision says entering weapon Prestige resets the weapon level and relocks its attachments. That reset is different from earning Razor as the final reward at Level 70.
- Shared attachments: Compatible standard attachments are unlocked once across weapons. A part earned elsewhere may therefore appear on the Oris without matching the level shown in a community guide.
- Bonus level-ups: Bonus progression can skip duplicate attachment rewards, changing the order in which parts appear.
- Razor status: Razor is the Oris’s Apex reward. Treat it as a separate final-level unlock, not as a shared standard attachment.
- Prestige choice: Check which parts would relock before selecting weapon Prestige, especially if your preferred build depends on a high-level barrel, optic or bolt.
Why can’t I equip a particular attachment?
Most apparent lockouts have a straightforward cause. Check the following in order:
- Confirm the weapon level. Open Gunsmith Progression and verify that the Oris, not merely your player profile, has reached the required level.
- Check whether the part is shared. The displayed community level may not match your account if a compatible attachment was already unlocked on another weapon.
- Inspect the Apex slot. If Razor is equipped, the underbarrel category is intentionally blocked. Remove Razor to restore underbarrel access.
- Look for a Prestige reset. A recently prestiged weapon can show previously earned standard attachments as relocked.
- Compare the live Gunsmith labels. Community build pages dated October 25–27, 2026 may become stale after a balance update; the current in-game description takes priority.
Do I need a physical copy or a special edition to unlock Oris?
No. The Oris unlock is an in-game progression task for the standard game. If you already own Modern Warfare 4, you do not need a disc or a physical “Oris attachment.” Activision’s physical Standard Edition path is a disc for PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, matched to a disc-capable console; there is no physical PC or physical Vault Edition. The edition details are listed in Activision’s game editions guide.

To maintain the grip and prevent accidental falls, it's a good practice to periodically reapply pressure to the suction cup.
The practical route is therefore to play the version you own, reach Player Level 11, and level the Oris to 70 if you want Razor. Do not buy an edition solely to bypass a progression requirement that the launch documentation does not say it bypasses.
How to keep these builds current
The loadouts above are tied to October 2026 recommendations. After a balance patch, reopen Gunsmith and check the numerical effects for every part, then retest sight picture, bolt timing and recoil in the in-game Firing Range. Keep the role of the build constant—balanced Multiplayer, mobility, scoped precision or DMZ endurance—but replace a part when its current trade-off no longer fits that role. This approach remains useful even when attachment names, values or unlock order change.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Oris 8.6 use subsonic ammunition?
Yes. Activision’s launch sheet says the rifle’s subsonic rounds hide enemy skulls on kills. That is a documented in-game behavior, not a claim about real-world ammunition or a separate purchase.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Can I use the Oris 8.6 in both Multiplayer and DMZ?
Yes. The weapon’s progression carries across the two modes. DMZ still has its own FOB Gunsmith access requirement at DMZ Level 10 and its own cash and Weapon Manual systems.
What happens if I prestige the Oris after earning Razor?
Weapon Prestige resets the weapon level and relocks attachments according to Activision’s progression rules. Check the current prestige confirmation screen to see which rewards will need to be earned again before accepting it.
Are the October 2026 attachment level numbers guaranteed for every account?
No. Community guides list their observed levels, but shared compatible attachments and bonus level-ups can alter the order on your account. Use the level shown in your own Gunsmith as the authoritative requirement.
