NVIDIA announced World of Warcraft add-on support for GeForce NOW on August 15, 2024: paid members can enable a managed selection of CurseForge-powered add-ons from WoW’s in-game menu while streaming. It is not access to every CurseForge add-on, and NVIDIA’s 2024 announcement does not establish which add-ons currently work with Midnight.

What GeForce NOW’s WoW add-on support does

The feature lets eligible GeForce NOW members select supported World of Warcraft add-ons while playing the game through NVIDIA’s cloud service. NVIDIA’s August 15, 2024 announcement described a selection of over 25 popular CurseForge add-ons, developed in collaboration with CurseForge. The announcement framed the feature around The War Within. NVIDIA’s announcement

Despite the announcement’s use of “Mod Support” in its title, the feature is specifically for WoW add-ons in NVIDIA’s managed catalog. It does not enable arbitrary mods or provide access to a player’s full CurseForge account or library.

How to enable supported add-ons

  1. Launch World of Warcraft through GeForce NOW.
  2. Open WoW’s in-game Addons menu.
  3. Select the add-ons you want to enable.

NVIDIA says a CurseForge account is not required. Its support FAQ says the system updates selected add-ons automatically and remembers the choices for later game launches. NVIDIA GeForce NOW FAQ

What the feature includes—and what it does not

NVIDIA’s FAQ describes its offering as “top 25+ CurseForge Addons,” not the full CurseForge catalog. The FAQ, last updated August 29, 2024, said NVIDIA might add more, advised against enabling all add-ons at once, and listed SimulationCraft and TradeSkillMaster as unavailable at that time. That dated list should not be treated as a verified current catalog.

The FAQ says add-ons are supported for retail WoW, WoW Classic, and Cataclysm Classic versions supported by GeForce NOW. Add-ons may still need updates from their authors to work with updated WoW versions; cloud streaming does not remove that game-version requirement.

Who can use the feature

NVIDIA says WoW add-ons require a paid GeForce NOW membership and are unavailable to free users. The 2024 announcement named Ultimate and Priority memberships, including Day Pass users; the FAQ describes eligibility more generally as paid memberships. NVIDIA GeForce NOW FAQ

Where add-on choices are saved

NVIDIA’s FAQ says selected add-ons and their settings are stored in GeForce NOW cloud storage. They persist between game launches and carry across devices when you use the same GeForce NOW account. They are not saved to your local PC or local WoW installation, so this cloud setup does not sync those choices to a separate local game install. NVIDIA GeForce NOW FAQ

Does GeForce NOW support WoW add-ons in Midnight?

The 2024 NVIDIA announcement and FAQ do not verify which add-ons in GeForce NOW’s catalog currently work with Midnight. Blizzard later changed its add-on requirements: its March 3, 2026 pre-expansion notes say add-ons that their authors have not updated for Midnight will not be allowed to load in Midnight and beyond. That establishes a game-side compatibility requirement, not the contents or compatibility status of NVIDIA’s current catalog. Blizzard World of Warcraft news Blizzard pre-expansion update notes
