Short verdict: NameHero offers four Minecraft server tiers—Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond—with 4–16 GB of RAM, NVMe storage, and provider-recommended ranges from 4 to 50 players. The headline prices are promotional first-invoice figures tied to annual billing, while a separate store page shows higher starting prices. NameHero advertises modpack and plugin installers, custom-world uploads, version changes, backups, migration, game switching, DDoS protection, worldwide locations, and 24/7 support. Those are vendor claims; the published material does not independently establish latency, uptime performance, or support response times. Choose a tier by RAM, mod complexity, player count, and location, then confirm the billing term and renewal price at checkout.
What is NameHero Minecraft hosting, and who is it for?
NameHero Minecraft hosting is a managed game-server service rather than a physical server you install at home. NameHero provisions the server, provides a browser control panel, and handles the underlying hosting environment so you can concentrate on configuring a world, installing software, and inviting players. The service is aimed at small private servers, modded communities, and larger groups that want more resources than a basic shared game instance.

The product page divides the service into four resource tiers. Each tier has a fixed advertised RAM amount, NVMe storage allocation, and listed CPU-core count. NameHero also publishes a recommended player range for each tier, but those ranges are guidance, not a capacity guarantee: world size, simulation distance, redstone activity, plugins, mods, and view distance can change resource demand substantially.
This review uses NameHero’s published specifications and policies. It does not represent independent stress testing, a latency study, or a hands-on support test, so performance conclusions should be limited to what the provider documents.

What are the NameHero Minecraft plan prices and specifications?
The Minecraft hosting page displays discounted monthly figures based on a yearly billing cycle. The figures below are the promotional amounts shown by NameHero for the first invoice.
| Tier | Promotional monthly figure | RAM | Storage | Listed cores | Recommended players | Provider positioning |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Silver | $4.48 | 4 GB | 100 GB NVMe | 2 | 4–8 | Entry tier for a few friends |
| Gold | $8.96 | 8 GB | 100 GB NVMe | 3 | 8–12 | Mid-tier |
| Platinum | $13.44 | 12 GB | 250 GB NVMe | 4 | 12–20 | Marked as recommended for mods |
| Diamond | $17.92 | 16 GB | 250 GB NVMe | 5 | 20–50 | Marked as recommended for mods |
NameHero says the displayed plan cards reflect a 30% discount and that the discount applies only to the first invoice. The separate store listing presents starting prices of $8, $16, $24, and $32 per month for Silver through Diamond. Those two displays are not a like-for-like renewal quote: the Minecraft page ties its figures to annual billing, while the store page uses “starting from” monthly language.
Before paying, open the order summary and check the selected term, the amount charged today, and the renewal amount. NameHero’s pricing guidance says promotional codes are not recurring discounts, so a coupon or introductory rate should not be treated as the ongoing price.
Which NameHero tier should you choose?
Use the provider’s player ranges as a starting point, then move up when your software stack or world activity is heavier. The recommendations are not guarantees, and NameHero notes that CPU and RAM availability can vary by location.
Silver: a small, mostly vanilla group
Silver supplies 4 GB of RAM, two listed cores, and 100 GB of NVMe storage. Its 4–8-player recommendation fits a few friends running a lightly modded or vanilla world. It is the lowest-cost way to start, but you have the least headroom for large modpacks, high render distances, or several busy plugins.
Gold: a larger vanilla or lightly modified server
Gold doubles memory to 8 GB and lists three cores while retaining 100 GB of NVMe storage. NameHero positions it for 8–12 players. It is a sensible step when Silver is close to its limit or when a group needs more simultaneous exploration and automation without the storage jump offered by Platinum.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Platinum: the provider’s first mod-focused tier
Platinum has 12 GB of RAM, four listed cores, and 250 GB of NVMe storage. NameHero labels it recommended for mods and gives a 12–20-player range. The extra memory and storage are useful for larger modpacks, multiple world files, and retained backups, but actual suitability still depends on the particular pack and configuration.

Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.

Diamond: the largest published tier
Diamond lists 16 GB of RAM, five cores, and 250 GB of NVMe storage, with a 20–50-player recommendation. It is also marked as recommended for mods. The top of that player range should be treated cautiously because no independent load test or guaranteed concurrency figure is published.
How should you interpret the RAM, cores, storage, and player numbers?
RAM is the most visible sizing factor because Minecraft’s Java process, world data, and mod or plugin code all consume memory. More RAM does not automatically eliminate lag: a poorly optimized mod, a distant server location, or CPU contention can still produce tick delays. The listed core count gives a useful comparison among NameHero’s own tiers, but the provider does not publish processor models, clock speeds, or a dedicated-core guarantee.
Storage is NVMe on every listed tier. Silver and Gold include 100 GB; Platinum and Diamond include 250 GB. That space holds the server installation, world data, logs, mods, and backups. A world with frequent backups or several modpack instances can consume storage faster than a simple survival map, so check usage in the control panel rather than assuming the allocation is unlimited.

Treat them as an initial planning guide, start with conservative simulation settings, and watch memory use, CPU load, and server tick health after players begin exploring. If the panel shows sustained resource pressure, reducing view or simulation distance may help, but moving to the next tier is the more direct capacity change.
What management features does NameHero advertise?
NameHero advertises an Advanced Game Panel powered by Pterodactyl. The panel is described as providing one-click installation for modpacks, mods, plugins, and worlds, plus controls for changing server software and adjusting player slots. The provider also lists DDoS protection, instant deployment, backups, free server migration, game switching, and a custom control panel.
NameHero names CurseForge, Modrinth, ATLauncher, Technic, Voids Wrath, and Feed The Beast among the supported mod and modpack platforms. The published description does not define a universal version matrix for every pack, nor does it state backup retention periods, restore-point limits, or whether every game-switch operation preserves files automatically. Those details should be confirmed in the order flow or with support.
Can I run a modpack on my Minecraft server?
Yes, NameHero says its panel supports one-click installation for modpacks and lists several launchers and platforms, including CurseForge, Modrinth, ATLauncher, Technic, Voids Wrath, and Feed The Beast. Platinum and Diamond are the tiers the provider explicitly marks as recommended for mods.

- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
To deploy one, choose the modpack installer in the game panel, select the available pack and version, and allow the server to install the required files. After installation, confirm that every player uses the matching client version and loader. If a pack is not listed, NameHero says the panel can accept custom jars or mods, but compatibility, licensing, and memory requirements remain your responsibility. The provider’s documentation does not promise that every third-party pack will install with one click.
Can I use my own Minecraft world on my server?
NameHero says you can upload a custom world through SFTP. That means you can move an existing save rather than starting with a blank map.
- Stop the server in the game panel so files are not being written during the transfer.
- Connect with an SFTP client using the credentials supplied by NameHero.
- Upload the world folder to the server’s designated data directory, preserving the folder structure and files.
- Select that world in the server configuration, or set the world name to match the uploaded folder, then restart.
- Keep the original local copy until you have joined successfully and verified player inventories, dimensions, and datapacks.
The published feature description does not specify a maximum world-file size, an automated conversion process, or a guaranteed restore procedure for malformed saves. Make a separate copy before replacing the active world and check that the server version and installed mods match the world you are importing.
Can I change my Minecraft version or server jar?
NameHero says the panel lets customers change Minecraft versions or server jars and upload custom jars or mods. This supports moving between supported releases, switching loaders, or running a customized server build.

Stop the server, create a backup, confirm that the world and every mod or plugin supports the target release, select the new jar or upload it as instructed by the panel, and start the server while monitoring the console for errors. Never remove the only copy of a world before a successful test launch. The provider does not publish a guarantee that an arbitrary jar will be supported or that a downgrade will be reversible without restoring a backup.
Can I change player slots on my Minecraft server?
NameHero says player slots can be adjusted from the control panel. The setting changes the configured maximum, but it does not create additional RAM or CPU capacity.
If you raise the slot count, compare it with the tier’s recommended range and observe actual resource use. A server configured for more simultaneous players than its hardware can sustain may experience slow ticks even when the panel accepts the value. Lowering the setting can prevent unexpectedly large joins while you tune the world, and upgrading the plan is the capacity solution when the server regularly reaches its resource limits.

How do backups, migration, and game switching work?
NameHero advertises backups, free server migration, and game switching. Those features can reduce the work involved in moving an existing server or trying another supported game, but the published material does not state backup frequency, retention, download format, restore time, or whether migration includes every custom file.
Before requesting a migration or switching games, export any files the panel lets you download and record your current server version, mods, plugins, configuration, and world name. Ask support which data is included, whether the source server remains available during the move, and how a rollback is handled. Treat a provider backup as an additional safety layer rather than your only copy of an irreplaceable world.
Where are NameHero’s Minecraft servers located, and what support is offered?
NameHero’s game-hosting overview names the United States, Germany, Canada, Poland, and France as current country-level location options. Its Minecraft page recommends choosing a location central to the players you plan to invite, because physical distance generally affects network round-trip time.
The provider advertises 24/7/365 support through tickets, live chat, and Discord, with phone service during business hours. These are published channels, not measured service levels. The reviewed material does not provide regional latency tests, packet-loss data, a support-response benchmark, or an independently audited uptime report. Choose the nearest practical location, then ask for a test address or trial procedure if latency is critical to your group.
Does NameHero guarantee 99.99% Minecraft uptime?
NameHero’s Minecraft page uses 99.99% uptime language, but the reviewed sources do not provide an independent measurement method or Minecraft-specific uptime history. It should therefore be read as a provider claim, not as a verified prediction of your server’s availability.
NameHero’s broader terms mention a 99.9% guarantee for shared hosting and explicitly limit that language to shared and reseller solutions. It should not be applied to a Minecraft game server. Ask for the game-server terms that govern your order if an uptime remedy is important to you, and keep your own availability records if you need to evaluate reliability.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is the refund policy on NameHero Minecraft servers?
NameHero states that gaming-server customers have a 72-hour money-back window. The Terms of Service and help-center guidance require a cancellation request and a support ticket requesting the refund within those 72 hours, and they limit eligibility for cancellations submitted later.

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
This is different from the 30-day guarantee NameHero advertises for some other hosting services, such as web hosting. Do not assume that the longer period applies to a Minecraft server. Save the order confirmation and submit both the cancellation and refund request before the 72-hour deadline if you decide the service is unsuitable.
What should you verify before ordering?
A short pre-purchase check can prevent the most common billing and compatibility surprises.
- Confirm whether the checkout uses annual billing and record the first-invoice amount.
- Read the renewal line; the introductory discount is not described as recurring.
- Match the tier to your actual modpack, plugin, world, and player requirements rather than the player number alone.
- Select a location that minimizes distance for the majority of players.
- Ask which CPU and RAM allocation applies at the selected location, since NameHero says availability can vary.
- Verify that your intended modpack, loader, server jar, and Minecraft version are available in the panel.
- Ask about backup retention, downloadable backups, restore procedures, and migration scope.
- Save a local copy of your world before making version, jar, or migration changes.
- Read the 72-hour game-server refund procedure before submitting payment.
What are the main advantages and limitations?
| Potential advantage | What the published information supports |
|---|---|
| Range of sizes | Four tiers span 4–16 GB of RAM, 100–250 GB NVMe storage, and two to five listed cores. |
| Mod and world management | One-click installers, custom jars or mods, SFTP world uploads, and version controls are advertised. |
| Operational tools | Backups, migration, game switching, instant deployment, DDoS protection, and a Pterodactyl-powered panel are listed. |
| Geographic choice | Locations are named in the United States, Germany, Canada, Poland, and France. |
| Clear short refund window | The gaming-server policy specifies a 72-hour process. |
| Limitation or uncertainty | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Promotional pricing is term-dependent | The Minecraft page’s monthly figures are first-invoice annual-billing promotions, while the store shows higher starting prices. |
| Player ranges are recommendations | They do not guarantee a particular modpack, tick rate, or concurrent-player load. |
| Hardware details are incomplete | Processor models, clock speeds, dedicated-core policy, and location-specific allocations are not published in the reviewed material. |
| Performance evidence is vendor-provided | No independent latency, uptime, or support-response measurements are supplied. |
| Backup and migration terms need confirmation | Frequency, retention, restore timing, downloadable formats, and file scope are not stated. |
Is NameHero Minecraft hosting worth it in 2026?
NameHero is a plausible fit when you want a managed Minecraft server with several resource levels and advertised tools for modpacks, custom worlds, version changes, and migration. Platinum and Diamond are the natural starting points for the provider’s mod-focused guidance, while Silver and Gold target smaller groups. The decision depends less on the promotional headline than on the renewal price, the hardware available in your chosen location, and whether the panel supports your exact software stack.
Buy only after checking the complete checkout term and renewal amount, confirming the 72-hour refund process, and asking questions about backup retention and hardware allocation. Treat the uptime statement, player counts, and support availability as provider descriptions rather than independently verified guarantees.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does NameHero support Java-and-Bedrock cross-play?
The published Minecraft feature list covers jars, mods, plugins, worlds, and version changes but does not state that Java-and-Bedrock cross-play is included. If cross-play is required, ask NameHero whether a compatible proxy or plugin is supported on your chosen server version before ordering.
Can I move my Minecraft server to another NameHero location later?
NameHero advertises free server migration, but the available product details do not clarify whether that includes moving between its own locations. Confirm the destination options, expected downtime, and rollback process with support before committing to a location.
Are NameHero backups downloadable?
Backups are advertised, but the published description does not specify whether customers can download them, how long they are retained, or which files are included. Keep an independent copy of your world and ask for the exact export and restore workflow.
Does every tier include a dedicated IP address?
The plan specifications provided for Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond do not mention dedicated IP addresses. Contact NameHero to confirm whether an address is included, shared, or available as an extra service for your selected location.
